No matter what, there are always the idiots that give thumbs down. I guess nothing makes them happy, bunch of sad sacks. The 55, 56, and 57 Chevy's are what I grew up with. Unfortunately, I could never afford one, but I did have two friends, twin brothers that each had one and I enjoyed every ride I had in them. Just a beautiful car.
My Daddy taught me (when I was 9) how to steer, while sitting on his lap, in a car just like this, except a straight six cylinder, sans AC. The engine bays of these old cars were just beautifully SIMPLE. Thx for the memories, 'spudsgarage'. And Kudos to the owner of this gorgeous classic!
Wow. Beautiful car. My dad was a chevy mechanic. At one time we had 3 56 chevys, Dad's was a wagon the same colors as this, my sister had a black 4 door with 265 camel back heads and 4 barrel, My brother had a 2 door post, his and my dads had 283s with three on the tree and overdrive could go 120 mph.
Gad zooks and great Scott, this car is beautiful!! The only things I would do is put 15 inch 5 spoke deep dish cragars in the back, 15 inch regular cragars in the front, raised white letter tires, jack the back up a little higher and some glass pack mufflers!! Ahhhhhh!! That would be perfect!!
Very nice car. My favorite year of the tri 5s. I have to wonder about the spare tire though, it looks like it is a tire and wheel combo that would have come stock from the factory. Is it the same overall diameter as the tires on the car? If not, and the car gets a flat, it will not only look bad for awhile, but it could cause driving problems.
which vinatge air do you recommend 1. 1955-56 Chevrolet Full-Size Gen IV SureFit™ Complete Kit with Center Vent Plenum 2. 1955-56 Chevrolet Full-Size Gen IV SureFit™ Complete Kit with 4-Vent Plenum and did you get the chrome vent and control panels separate ? thanks

In 1971 I had this exact model '56 Chevy. Jade green metalflake paint job.

One of the nicest 56’s I’ve ever seen.
