One Issue I have run into is the Online Archive. Emp was fired. I did everything in here but there is an online archive. Surely there is an easy way to get the archive back into the inbox. Nope say MS lol They wanted me to export it in Outlook and then import it back in. Insanity it was 46 GBS lol I ended up in OWA selecting sections and drag and dropping after I had it stop archiving everything. No powershell No disabling archive back to inbox. Crazy Thanks for the vid
You are he GOAT man - great video - thankyou. If we follow the above, do we need to do anything extra to make sure we dont pay for another licence when they renew or does this process stop future renewals? Thanks again!

After you remove the license don't you have to go to the billing section and remove the required amount of licenses needed? cause as far as I know once you remove the license you still get billed because in your tenant you still have that removed license allocated in billing.
This is great for one by one basis, BUT :) if you have 10 leavers (or starters) per week or day, automation ir required. It would usefull if you mentioned it 😇😎
Just had this issue, Stop archiving, select emails from archive drag and drop in OWA to shared inbox then disable archive (need a lic) This is per MS unfortunately.
What about the onedrive files and shared files?

Why not delete the user after this process? And if you delete the user, what happens to the shared mailbox?
You did not mention anything about the users OneDrive, Teams, SharePoint, etc...
Good video. But what about a users onedrive data?
Can you forward and auto reply from a shared mailbox without an exchange p1? Is this new or have that completely gone over my head.
Yes you can.
With shared mail boxes i believe if its over 50 GB of data it does cost a fee with MS 365.

Perhaps that’s a full video
@@bearded365guy lets do this l:)
I also hide the leaver from the global address list and remove them from any groups that they may have been in.
Nice additions!
So what do you do for users that have more then 5 GB of email? Also what about in-Place online archives?

@@nathanielwhitaker-j7v I don’t think so.
Pro tip: if you want to change their profile picture, do it BEFORE converting to a shared mailbox.
