Thankyou very much for this video, we've just made the switch from Trello to Planner to more closely integrate with our 365 environment, and this video saved me a lot of research time.
I swear Jon.....this is the 2nd time you are reading my mind. I have used Planner before but it was a while back and I wanted to refresh myself with it. Keep up the good work
at 17:32 you say, "you can simply link it to your existing plan..." but if I go onto Teams, the plan I created in Planner on Sharepoint does not appear on Teams. You also had difficulty with this? Maybe this is why it's not included in the video...?
I really wish Planner had actual Outlook calendar integration but the tasks don't update in Outlook when edited in Planner. It's easy enough to bypass the need for this integration by using To Do, but it's totally bizarre that the Planner-calendar integration is static (in my experience)
Great video! Question if I may, in my org I can only create a plan for a group it doesn’t let me just create a plan and then add people like you did. Is there a setting that needs changing? TIA 👍
Great video! Can anyone help me here? Our small company uses 365 and I've noticed tasks assigned to users within Excel cells using comments and similar for word don't show in outlook tasks/to do etc. we get emails about the task but no task as mentioned above. Is there a setting or connector we need to turn on?
Planner does not provide Gantt Charts, for that as well as dependencies and more comprehensive reporting, MS Project is the correct tool. Think of Planner as MS Project-lite

Thanks. Check out my newer video on the new planner too.

Hey Joel, thanks. Hope you’re good
@@bearded365guy I am, thanks.
Just started playing with planner today. This was very helpful to see some of the functionality. Now to figure out my buckets!
This was very helpful, thank you!
Glad it was helpful!

In my experience, you create the plan in teams and then you can access it from the planner app (see the 9 squares icon top left)

How do you recommend archiving completed projects? There's no archive, only delete.
Does Planner have a gnatt chart? doesn't seem like it. Thanks!
No it doesn’t have one. You’d need Microsoft Project for that…. Shame!
How do you upgrade to a commercial license so a team could use Gantt charts?

We need an update. Planner seems to be updated now. No longer looks like that in Teams.
Yeah, have a look at my new planner video!
@@bearded365guy link? Thanks
Sad this is only geared to enterprise
There is at least an Android app
