I've owned one for a while and have never been bored with it. It has some secrets though, run the master at nearly full volume, use it like a single channel amp on the drive channel. I use the clean for pedals only. It in my opinion sounds so much better this way.

I've had one for about 2 weeks, and I love it. Great amp on it's own, but throw an EQ pedal in the loop and it really comes alive. Anyone who has this amp, or is considering one, go get an EQ pedal for it. Do it now. Go.

I bought one this year, the combo version, and although I dont play metal or any heavy music, I just love this amp !! I use mine in the clean channel with a HX Stomp and several other delays and reverb pedals and the tone I get is pure bliss, I love the sound of this amp, sure sometimes I play just the amp distorsion with a compressor pedal and an overdrive in both situations I love the tone I get !! Saludos from South America !!! Awesome video btw, love your fuzzed heavy tones !!

This has become my go to amp, even going so far as to sell most of my tube amps. Especially with the rising availablity of some great analog preamps like my Architect of Reality and FET120, I just leave it in the clean channel and never find myself wanting for tone. I now have a killer rig with tons of sonic versatility at a fraction of the space, weight, and expense of my old setup that is so easy to pack up and play out with. Literally my only gripe ever with this amp is that the I wish the cab sim could be switched off on the DI so that other cab IRs could be used. If they ever did that, this would the best recording amp ever. Long story short, I love mine and it has a permanent space on my rig.

This has definitely become my favorite amp since the day I got it...one of the most satisfying purchases I've made in the gear realm for sure....kicks ass on its own and kicks ass as a pedal platform...the 2 cable foot switch is the only thing that has annoyed me a little bit but definitely not a dealbreaker

Amazing amp, i played a lightly used one at the store and just bought it on the spot. Coming from using fender amps it took me a little while to get used to the low mid hump but it’s probably the best amp i’ve ever had. Such an easy to live with, low noise, versatile amp! There’s a few reviews that say it sounds muffled but you just need to take more time to understand the eq on this thing. You really can get many different sounds out of it. It’s not just a great affordable amp it’s a great amp!

Pedals into the Orange SC100 sounded great - Take a look at the HiWatt Super Leeds 150 head too. Solid state, Mosfet power amp. Super clean, clean channel with its own EQ, Vintage channel that is Marshall voiced which shares an EQ with the High Gain, more modern gain channel that has its own Contour control. $374 for the 150 watt head brand new. It’s a keeper solid state. Quite a few that have the Orange Super Crush or CR120 have also bought the HiWatt Super Leeds 150 or Crunch 150 (Crunch is older - they made some improvements with the Super Leeds and Leeds amps) and like them every bit as much. I love the Orange SS amps, but definitely love my HiWatt Super Leeds. The solid state HiWatt Super Leeds sounds more Marshall than my 3210 Lead 100 Mosfet head. The clean channel is clean all the way through the range of the volume. Great for pedal platform and Doom sounds with pedals. I use a RAT and Rams head fuzz. I play the Marshall sounds more on it though. I also have the Orange Guitar Butler 3 channel preamp which is Orange’s solid state take on their old Graphic and OR120 amps. Plug into the Mosfet power amp of my HiWatt via fx return. Heavy!

I bought one of these last year, and it's still my main go to amp. Only wish the dirty channel had more low end punch and took Big Muffs better. The clean channel takes them well, but there's something magic about running a Big Muff into a slightly dirty amp.

Great video. Keep up the cool content!
I've got the predecessor, the Crush Pro 120. I got it as I wanted a solid state practice amp for noodling around rather than cycling my tube amps if I just want to work on a few riffs for a short period of time. I run it through a 400 watt Orange cab (the one with K100s). Get cool tones out of it with numerous different guitar/pickup combos. Primarily B standard doom but can get passable D# standard thrash riffs out of it especially with EMG 81.
When I'm feeling frisky, I Y into an early 70s Peavey Musician 210 watt head via HM2 into an old Fender 4x12 loaded with V30s. Blend the two for some beastly tones. Some say 330 watt full stack is a bit much for a practice amp, but then I remind them they aren't metal enough.

    • @FuzzlordEffects

Good sounding amp, nice demo of it. I always like the Sleep and Monolord riffs. I have the Crush Pro 120, and I love its clean channel, especially when it breaks up when cranking the volume on it. The Clean channel takes pedals so well, it really loves your Drone Master, FU-2 and Void Master pedals. The Dirty channel is darker than the Crush 100 and has a more Doom tone to it than the Crush 100. What I really like about the Crush 100 and wish the Crush Pro 120 had is the Cab simulator. Both are great solid-state amps that can keep pace with the Rockerverb tube amps.

I dislike the term "Budget Amp" because it implies that the only reason people buy it is because they can't afford anything better. I myself can easily afford an expensive tube amp...or three...yet I still choose to own and use a Super Crush 100. It is not, as Ade Emsley implied, a "poor man's Rockerverb." It is a legitimate amp in it's own right..and not just a cheaper alternative.

Is there a set solid state watt amp that you recommend for bedroom usage? I was looking at the 35rt as well but I tend to want more and more gear rather than being content, so I think I'll skip the intermediate price and go for a $400-ish used combo. People say the 35rt is plenty as a bedroom amp but I think the 60c and 100 combo just sound better, just curious if 100W is overkill?

I use mine mostly for classic rock tones like Zeppelin, but it's got a good range to it.

I have one of these and its pretty great but ive been using the dirty channel a muff with the fuzz dialed back basically as a boost with pretty good results. any tips on using the clean channel with pedals? ive tried with a few pedals and im having trouble dialing in, it either feels like my pedal is overwhelming the clean channel or i dial back the pedal too much and im not getting enough signal, things sound crunchy in a not good way. I got this amp because it was inexpensive and hoping to record some with it and extend the tube life of my other amps by reducing wear and tear every time i want to noodle. How are you preferring to balance the clean volume with the master volume and the volume on the pedals. Also if you get a chance try a 10 band in the effects loop for some tweaking.

I’ve got the clean volume pretty high and use the master to dial in the actual volume I found that works pretty well

I’m a bedroom player using a mesa 112 and I set the channel volume to about 4 or 10 or 11 o’clock and the master either just under 3 or 9 o’clock or just over. So max I usually have them set both around 10 or 11 for best sound

@@FuzzlordEffects how hot do you run your pedals into the front of the amp

@@paulcarter105 I only play at home but where I live i can turn up pretty loud, i have a 2x12 and 4x12 and run one or both of them. im going to do some more experimenting with the clean channel and try some more pedals.

@@jackmort4025 I also forgot to mention that I match the channel volume with the volume on pedals so both are around 11. Unless I’m boosting one pedal with another like ts9 into mt2w. Then I’ll have the boost over unity like 1 o’clock

    Is this a class D ?
And .....i love everything about this amp BUT!!! Why in the holy doom metal world has Orange started putting that small squished logo on all the amps nowadays that looks like it's been stepped on! Where is the old loud and proud large one😢 and i know it only aesthetics but I'm sorry bad PR decision.
