Accurate review. I've been running one of these (1.2 VTi) for two years. The engine is easy revving and makes a great sound. However, real world fuel economy is about 44 mpg in mixed conditions, so way off the official figures. Also of note it the fuel tank, 50 litres which is bigger than most competitors. If I was buying again, would probably go for a diesel.
My girlfriend judt got one of these. I can tell you it rides better than my MKIII Focus. So the smaller rims and higher profile tyres- than these of the test - seem to do the job.
I made a test drive on the 1.4 HDI 90 HP engine and I didnt like much. The gearbox is very short and the engine is always in high rotations so not making a good fuel economy.
I have a 13 plate 208 1.2 (white) and my fuel economy is absolutely atrocious, especially because it's my first car and I don't have that much money, I'm getting like 34-36 mpg, and I find myself filling up at least every week, anyone have any ideas to how I can fix this? I was quite aggressive with my revs and throttling to start with because it is a nippy car, but I have cut back on that due to the amount of times I have to go to the petrol station because I'm running on reserve, AUTOTRADER HELP ME
