  • Vanlife can be so exciting. All the time we’re converting our vans, designing and building our vans. From the Havelock Insulation to the Renogy Solar panels we’re dreaming about some day actually driving down a road is never very far below our thoughts. We finished our Promaster van in 2022 - but it could be Mercedes Sprinter or a Ford Transit camper just as easily. And we were looking so forward to being able to just take off. We headed south from BC into Washington State and carried on through Idaho and into Utah … what a wonderful drive that was. Then we continued on into Colorado and New Mexico. If you have never been to New Mexico we think it’s one of the most wonderful places on earth. We especially like Santa Fe - the landscape the weather but mostly the people. After 10 days in Santa Fe we headed back north into Colorado. Kicking around in Yellow Stone park, Little Big Horn, Mount Rushmore and the Badlands National Park we headed west. West across Wyoming, South Dakota, Minnesota and Wisconsin .. to tell the truth. We should have had months for this drive. We really just generated a list of places we want to back to and spend more time. In the end we found ourselves in Ontario Canada visiting family and friends. And then life reared it’s ugly head. We had to be back in BC for something and there just wasn’t time to drive. So we had to fly … spending time in airports and on airplanes is not what we consider fun. But that’s when this travel hack really comes in handy.
