Haha!! Yeah?! If your amps/cabs need a new home.. help a poor metalhead brother out! I have but a broken bias amp software... that no longer works from their most recent updates.. sad panda.. But this little tiny amp, didnt sound horrid.. it would probably sound alright for what its worth with some pedals.. an eq, and overdrive... perhaps?!
I own this amp (or at least on really similar) and the diffrence between "ON" and "OD" is just that "OD" seems a little louder. Great travel amp. Not a great amp for any clean sounds.
@@D7oDR6KpRgqkcqlKAkCWjvlDy4x Don't worry, I'm also late: if you like to mod things, put a better speaker in there. My similar one used a cheap 0.5 watt speaker and that caused distortion. Used a 2W speaker to give a bit of head room and it was more than enough for practice.
I will say it was definitely surprising. At first I thought this must be a joke and that there is no way that what I was hearing was actually that app. I think it’s a decent sound depending on the type of music. But then again “ good tone” can be subjective.
What I notice about any affordable equipment is that you can still create music with it. All of my equipment is affordable, and I have created the most beautiful music with it. When you edit this music, and add effects they sound amazing. You can do so much. Thank you for sharing.
oh wow i used to own one! Then it broke so I figured i could just get another one (was loving the sound of my les paul through it, great dirty tones) but when i went back to the store they werent selling them anymore so i was kinda pissed that Id never know what that amp was after chucking the broken one, until now! One guy mentioned in a studio miced up these amps could be a gem or something, I didnt know anything about that at the time but it made sense, the speaker was small but miced up it could sound bigger. The miced up version here sounded really smoothed out and nice, but i was liking the dirty harmonics comming from the original playthrough.
I have one of these. Got rid of the plastic enclosure and made my own wooden enclosure. Sounds good for as cheap as it is. Had mine for a few years. Paid like 3 or 4 bucks for it. Not sure it is worth almost 20.
Well, considering that it's the cheapest amp possible from Amazon (which basically means that it's no more than Chinese noname piece of plastic poop), in the mix it sounds... quite acceptable! I mean, it even manages to pull off low frequencies despite its size and quality of construction. So, not even ironically, you may actually have a reason to buy one for home rehearsals or whatever.
I got one on AliExpress for my electro-acoustic ukulele in 2022. The only thing that works is OD; no amplification for the clean on mine. Makes my ukulele sound like it has an attitude.
I would argue that Garageband doesn't count since you have to buy a mac vs something like Audacity, Ardour, and LMMS which are free (Ardour does require a payment or subscription unless you build it from source code) and available on Windows, Mac osx, and Linux, so it has no OS requirement for the big three most used OSs.
To be fair there are a LOT of fantastic free guitar amp VSTs (LePou, Mercuriall, etc) and cab impulses that even with a cheap interface would work well in a mix.
André Silva What conjunction are you using? "Ed" dose not need to be after an apostrophe. No "ed" ending word needs an apostrophe........ mix'ed???? Fix'ed??? WHAT?
industrial_aviiation what is micing an amp? Drawing mice whiskers on it? Before writing that you should do some reading, like the title on the following article. www.musicradar.com/guitarist/gear-tips-advice-micing-a-guitar-amp-275929 And by the way, it's aviation, not aviiation. Bye.
You can mod the headphone out on those to work as a speaker out to plug into a cab. You just cut the trace that goes to the right side on the headphone out, and solder a jumper to short out the resistor in the little board where the jack resides. Done! To undo this mod, just desolder the jumper from the resistor and solder it to bridge the trace you cut.
Got one of those for Christmas from my dad when I was 14. Even though I had a half stack line 6 with a bogner to use with an Ibanez RG prestige from my stepdad. My dad still holds a grudge against me not using the tiny amp. 😂
I used that for a week down in Nashville at a music camp. It's tone is decent for a battery powered practice amp, but the volume can't go up very high. It's a very good amp for small group jamming and such things like that. The clip on the back is actually a really useful feature because you can play and walk around at the same time. Don't plan on using this amp for long though, the speaker broke when I got home from Nashville, I wasn't shocked considering the fact that they offered those mini amps for free at the camp. If i were to suggest a mini battery powered amp, i'd suggest the mini Blackstar amps, THOSE THINGS are kickass mini amps!
In a studio back in the 90s the guitarist had a wall of Marshalls and Peaveys and even a bass combo, but the sound engineer needed that little extra rough crunch. So the guitarist, just for fun, plugged the little Marshall in the end of the row of amps and it was just the right sound. The engineer used that set up on the whole record.
I don't understand though why they are selling it without a power adapter. You basically pay for a product which you can't use after receiving it? I can't understand such policy.
B.M. same reason why pedals are sold without an adapter. Most people will use a battery and those who want to use a power adapter probably have one with multiple outputs
I modded one and gave it a speaker with more head room (3W for the 1W amp). Actually sounds much better! Also the power input is a standard pedal power supply connection
$20 and it has an overdrive, that sounds like a big yes in my book
7 років тому+1
i love these "the cheapest" videos :) honestly there ARE cool cheap guitars and pickups out there... take haze or spear guitars or wilkinson and viva pickups
I had a Marshall mini once I put a heavy metal foot stomp in front and ran the headphones into the amp noisy as hell but sounded great .Love to see that video
Some seriously decent stoner tone right here. I'd love to see a "expensive guitar, expensive amp and cab, everything else is the cheapest" just so people know how much a good interface or good cables change your sound
mercuryfaith I think the solid state would dominate. Especially a vintage Randall or something. Don't underestimate the power of the almighty solid state. (I'm not trying to argue against tubes, I'm just sayin)
That would be pretty cool for some back porch sittin, pickin and drinkin. Probably not too loud to bug the neighbors, but still able to practice, or play for your friends while you're putting down some beer.
Isaac White almost got one yesterday.. Someone took the last one out of a sale. Are they really that bad? If yes, which one would you recommend in the 100-200 price range
For shits and giggles I took one of these things apart (it had a busted speaker) and linked it up to a 1x12 cab, and used a distortion peddle I had laying around and it sounded.... Okay (ish), the internal distortion effect on these things is always horrible, but an external one will give you the extra controls to fine tune the sound, and the larger speaker negates a lot of the ear piercing tinniness these things suffer from.
I keep a little amp like that on my workbench with a short patch chord plugged into it for when I'm doing setups / string changes. I basically use it as a tuner.
As someone who has opened a lot packages , parcels etc , at work using a box cutter . Put the blade down after cutting . You are keeping blade in your hand , waving it around . You can cut yourself doing this .
Install some midi in it and you can sell the REVV. Literally couldn’t tell a difference... reminds me of the clip of dimebag walking around with the small amp in the street. Made me smile.
I have it and i use it often. it is very good for people who can not open volume noisy because of neighboures. it has also a special effect. i have several bigger amps. but this little amp is really great for practice home when i can not make noise. i stil have enough volume so i can practce. its better than headphone practice. but this has also headphone input.
Dude, if you have the time, please try this: hook the contacts of the speaker to a 12 inch or use the headphones out as a preamp (i've done it and its pretty interesting) :o
Inside my is AN7112 a 0.5W amplifier, by datasheet it accept 4-14v and recommended is 12v. so it's even not utilize all potential of that amplifier. You may not expect to much, especially with discharged 9v battery :(
I've had one of those for the longest time and I recently tore it apart for parts. It dosen't even have an amplifier. It just adds gain to the line in volume
These little amps are actually ok, but they are more suited to being used with a multi effects unit like a Zoom G3x or a POD into the "clean" channel. Playing exactly what you did there into any amp with absolutely no effects and you're going to get much the same sound regardless of the price of the amp. I have one of these and I also have the Marshall equivalent, the Marshall sounds fairly crap too by itself but sounds very well when it has a bit of processing in front of it. The cheapest Bluetooth speaker with an mp3/aux in will also operate perfectly as a practice amp once it's used with any kind of multi effects unit from a Pocket Pod upwards which acts as a pre amp.
Me and my guitar buddy were both gonna get one of these so that we could take our guitars outside in the summer and jam while having a few beers in the sun haha it actually doesn’t sound that bad for the price to be honest It’s not gigging material but it’s good for if you want it as a little portable practice amp
sounds like the first rest, repose ep ;-)
Hah all bad
You know for a thing that small and that cheap it ain't that bad 😂
Cool Jared dines
Hi Jared dines I've seen your videos.
Plug it to a bass with overdrive and turn everything up to destroy the amp
Mic'd up, it sounds like it could do stoner rock/metal..
BabbiViking haga thats exactly what i thought
Agree and should've run his pedalboard through it. But does it djent?
Run a swollen pickle through it and blast some Fu Manchu. The Action Is Go!
Definitely true. Obviously it misses the low end, but it was more of a general observation haha. Won't EVER beat a proper amp.
Eamon Ahern I have a fever, and the only prescription is more cowbell!
Honestly doesn't even sound that bad in the mix. I'm throwing out my other amps.
Anndy Negative where you live? I need a new amp
Anndy Negative That gosh darn 5150 just wasting space, eh? Same here brother
BlueElectricShock I'm using them as book ends
Haha!! Yeah?! If your amps/cabs need a new home.. help a poor metalhead brother out! I have but a broken bias amp software... that no longer works from their most recent updates.. sad panda..
But this little tiny amp, didnt sound horrid.. it would probably sound alright for what its worth with some pedals.. an eq, and overdrive... perhaps?!
That's fluff's mixing skills .. Dont be fooled
. :D
I guess the guitar cable cost more than the amp? 😂
I guess even the battery cost more than the amp
Amp 20 dollars
The amp 20
ı guess the pick is more expensive
That's the clean channel?
It sounds like overdrive to me
more like crapnch
Same lol
I own this amp (or at least on really similar) and the diffrence between "ON" and "OD" is just that "OD" seems a little louder. Great travel amp. Not a great amp for any clean sounds.
Ok
How well does it clean up when you roll off the guitar volume though??
That was my first amp back in 2005. Total battery killer lol. Crazy to see they're still floating around today.
Can you ever play something with the cheapest guitar, cheapest amp and cheapest padel AT ONCE
use the cheapest cord and pick you can find, then try to record and mix into audacity
Ryan Bruce oh yeah, we also want you to use a rockband microphone to record it.
And in the cheapest house on amazon, wearing the cheapest clothes on Amazon and the cheapest strings on Amazon
I'm all for these suggestions
use the cheapest pick
it will make a big difference
You should just go all out: cheapest guitar, amp, chord, microphone, DAW, camera for the video, plectrums, and so on😂
i bought 150 guitar picks for 70 cents on amazon for the heck of it, they break after 10 seconds
That d be sooooo awesome
That's the funniest idea ever
I'd love to watch that
Black metal
This sounds surprisingly decent especially for 20 bucks, plus it’s so cool how small it is, might pick one up
im probably a bit late but get a marshall ms2, same thing but less noise and better sound
But did you use the CHEAPEST CABLE ON AMAZON?
LMAO a Mogami platinum
Niranjan Bhat Badekila great idea.
I swear, $2 cables are super noisy hahaha
Finally. A rig even Fluff can’t make sound decent...
Jake Guitar Guy Fluff vs the original Line 6 Spider
Nodded my head still...
In the mix it sounded like a common rock tone.
Jake Guitar Guy Not bad, actually. Just needs the mic right up on it.
Jake Guitar Guy still kinda works in a mix, badly but it does
Am I the only one that thinks it sounds actually good?
Yes
It’s literally just his playing I think
Its good but bad
I will say it was definitely surprising. At first I thought this must be a joke and that there is no way that what I was hearing was actually that app. I think it’s a decent sound depending on the type of music. But then again “ good tone” can be subjective.
i also think it sounds great
cheapest amp head on amazon next?
Fluff:"let's turn to the overdrive channel"
Me: wait you were on clean?
"Today on rifts beads n d geer "- swedish chef 😂
Fluff's drunk LOL
TODAY ON BRRDDFFNSSSNGRRRR
verrrrt duh ferrrk?
play it back at 50% speed lol
Fer de fer de fer de fer. BORK BORK BORK!
Finally, Nickelback's tone explained!
Keith Campbell yeeessssss
Holy shit I was totally thinking that it sounded like nickelback 😂
Oof
Keith Campbell Nickelback tone is actually pretty heavy man.
Keith Freeman there it is… proof that someone on the Internet will “well actually” for anything. 🧐☝️
It actually sounds pretty cool... proves that gear doesn't matter as much as some might want to believe
every amp sound good on clean tone but most of cheap amp sound ass on gain
It looks exactly like the Marshall ms2, only without the Marshall badge
Sounds exactly like it too (I have a MS2... and a shitty guitar).
Possibly made in the same factory?
The ms2 is made to look like an insanely shrunk 4x12 and head, this one isn't.
Not really.. though it is similar
Looks like the perfect valentines gift for Rob :)
Ha! It sounded horrible by itself, but I kinda liked it in the mix.
mezsh it was WAY too quiet for a mix, though
This is like the little amp that Jack Black had hooked to his waist when he was playing for the kids in class on School of Rock
What I notice about any affordable equipment is that you can still create music with it. All of my equipment is affordable, and I have created the most beautiful music with it. When you edit this music, and add effects they sound amazing. You can do so much. Thank you for sharing.
I bought that just for the meme. Now it just sits there as a decoration
Those little amps plugged in to another amp actually sound pretty good as a vintage distortion
Should’ve run the cheapest distortion pedal through it
It was doing fuzz without a pedal.

the power of Mixing and Post Processing is strong with this one. Sounded godawful by itself, but in the mix it was decent, yikes
I’ve had this amp for 2 years. Still working and sounds good. It’s at its best when you play with earphones for private playing. Ron Annapolis MD.
I have one of these. Got rid of the plastic enclosure and made my own wooden enclosure. Sounds good for as cheap as it is. Had mine for a few years. Paid like 3 or 4 bucks for it. Not sure it is worth almost 20.

Yeah there's definitely a bass part
I got one on AliExpress for my electro-acoustic ukulele in 2022. The only thing that works is OD; no amplification for the clean on mine. Makes my ukulele sound like it has an attitude.
We want the cheapest guitar, amp, head, cables, pick, bass, drum program, daw, interface, computer, and mic to be utilized to their fullest extent
Cheapest interface and software is next, right?
Garageband is cheapest software surely?
Reaper and a behringer u-phoria, not even a bad setup

This is pretty standard.
You would have hated growing up in the 80s when most of your Christmas presents were useless until you got a bucket of batteries.
Definitely trading my twin reverb. Gotta love the 9 volt battery tone. Pairs nicely with my metalzone.

What does it sound like through the headphone out?
Horrible.
Without a cab sim, that is.
I got one of these bad boys used. Played it once and it's been my gig amp ever since. Now I just use my twin reverb as a practice amp.
sounds better than a Line6 Spider
RubenLM96 Haven't heard a Line 6 spider tho.
you dont know how to make a line 6 spider sound good then
scottie pinkham exactly my 4 30 sounds pretty damn good honestly
It actually doesn't, this amp sounds like shit. (speaking from experience using this amp)

Greg Armstrong me too

much better.
like this series very much. just subscribed!
challenging u to do a video ...with most expensive amp..lol

SixxxStringSultan Varg would be proud
Me and my friends had a few of these. We’d always bring them to school along with our guitars and jam at lunch time

no
Ngl that’s actually really good when it’s mic’d and put through the mix 🤙
such enthusiastic playing, 10/10.
it's amazing how good a proper mic can make a mini amp sound. this and pete contrell's recent video have inspired me to try micing some mini amps
I keep a little amp like that on my workbench with a short patch chord plugged into it for when I'm doing setups / string changes. I basically use it as a tuner.
I have something similar and i just use it as a bench amp to make sure whenever I swap pickups or play with wiring that the guitar works.

There are uses for that outside of a party. Matt Pike of sleep uses a pignose cranked in an isocab live to give an extra bit of nasty to his tone
Nice vid fluff!! That's a beast for the money

That's just like the little Marshall amp. That's a fun little thing.
I now have the last piece of the puzzle for my avant-garde punk band; Loe-Fye.
I've had one of those for the longest time and I recently tore it apart for parts. It dosen't even have an amplifier. It just adds gain to the line in volume
@Lightingale X Nightingal no if you want to be slightly louder, just get a booster pedal. Gain is distortion. get the ehx lpb-1.
These little amps are actually ok, but they are more suited to being used with a multi effects unit like a Zoom G3x or a POD into the "clean" channel.
Playing exactly what you did there into any amp with absolutely no effects and you're going to get much the same sound regardless of the price of the amp.
