I have Lyme. No rash-no tick found. When I would put on my eye makeup in the a.m., my central vision was affected. Like a grey smoke curtain. Got into an acute vision clinic. Thought it was a brain tumor, MS or optic stroke. Long story short, it was Lyme and it was attacking my optic nerve. Fears of losing my vision. I took 28 days of doxycycline-helped some but I am now on a herbal regime through Dr. Rawls and the optic nerve inflammation 10-days after starting the herbs was nothing shot of miraculous as said by my neuroophthalmologist. My vision is now 20/35 in right eye which is as good as I can hope for. Lyme is insidious.
I went to Urgent Care on Tuesday for a sever cough. It got worse so i went back on Friday. Better meds and i am beating the virus. Little confidence in that UC. If i have a wilderness medicine issue, i will send you there results for a second opinion. You i trust.

The Sanford Guide lists Amox 500 TID as an alternative to Doxy. How do they compare in efficacy?
Absolutely. Have used it in Doxy allergic patients.
I am assuming you are a health care provider do you see a lot of Lyme where you practice?
I have had no issues when using Amox. However there seems to always be a compliance issue with the pt. When you go from.BID to TID.

A quite famous Canadian was diagnosed with Lyme disease in the last few years. Do you know who?
Hint: A Franco-Ontarian from a town called Nappanee.
