FALL BULB PLANTING 2021.Daffodils.In today's video, I'll share how to plant 'easy to grow' daffodil bulbs ahead of spring. These bulbs came from the grocery store BOGO for 50 bulbs per bag
Fall bulb planting 2021. Tulips and alliums. another thing i set out to do this weekend was plant alliums, particularly allium "Purple Sensation". These are “magnificent” flowers that sprout tens of bright, colorful purple shoots - with flowers on the end of the shoots - in spring.
Here's an interesting fact about tulips. The Tulip was actually originally a wild flower growing in Central Asia. It was first cultivated by the Turks as early as 1000AD. They grew up in the mountains in harsh conditions with plenty of drainage. In my planting bed , I made sure theres enough loose, friable compost soil mix to provide excellent drainage so the tulips don't rot.
So much of what we do in autumn is preparing for the coming seasons. Even Cardoons! I grew them from seed which, now is the best time to I plant them in my reclaimed garden bed.

I really enjoy your videos! I’m in zone 6a Michigan 🥶 My question you just PLACED your bulb design then COVERED them not digging a hole first. Are you concerned that an animal might get to them?

Hi Angie! I bet it’s still cold up there 🥶🥶🥶. I live in a suburban area with no rodents. What I did with the application is interspersing the tulips with bulbs that squirrels and deer hate. Lots of daffodils help in deterring the animals.
