Walter and Eddie compliment each other, that’s why the Ojays are so good. Eddie brings the gospel tones to the songs and Walter brings the love. They are both extremely talented.
Sippin on a 🍒 "cherry soda pop",,building houses made of sand!! Like a little child with a fantasy,,just a fraction of a man!! Whoever wrote these lyrics is a fucking genius
@@puddinpie0325 lol it threw me for a loop also . My brother broke my heart when he told me it was about a pup. He is the same one that told me about 🎅 lol . What a gem of guy but he is gone on an every time I hear this song I shed a tear an laugh. It was the time of our lives.
Listening to this song today as I continue to mourn the loss of my mother 2 months ago. I remember growing up and hearing my mother play this album. She had an 8-track tape player and the entire album was on the cartridge. One year, she got a new stereo for her birthday and she gave me her old one. There I was... about 10 years old... so happy to have this 8-track player with the OJays album! As a child I never understood the message behind this song, but I loved it for the music. Today, I understand fully.... *sigh* I love you Mom... I miss you so much!!!!!
You're in my prayers...the journey is very dark, I lost my Sweet Mama last year, I'm broken. We have the beautiful memories to make us cry and laugh.💔💔😭😭...spread your wings our beautiful sweet mama's...fly high...we will meet again...for now take your rest ..RIP 💔💔💔🕊🕊🕊
Even though it's about a dog its still a beautiful song!!! If you have a girlfriend named Brandy and she leaves and she don't understand when you sing this to her she wasn't worth it!
They don't have Soul, they ARE Soul. Absolutely can sing about anything at all, can make the hardest and most stone-cold individual break down and sob with what they pour into you. ☄🔥🔥❤🔥
@MrShenron68 Yep, I understand where you are coming from. My dog just passed recently and....If ONLY...If ONLY I could have her back. The same dog. Wow oh wow, how happy I would be. Rip Scooby and blessings to you Mr. Shenron68.
The O’Jays are so classical man oh man. Our brothers brought their memorable classics which are beautiful. Big up to both Eddie Levert and Walter Williams. RIP William Powell

As Tamla was Drum/Rythym orientated & Stax was Horn led, Philly was unique with String/Orchestration through that wonderful period 💛 Horns & Strings got me every time. I loved the way Eddie led on-the-beat & Walter sung off-beat. They so complemented each other. Saw them & LeVert (support) when they came to the UK ThankYou for all these wonderful Posts. So appreciative 💛
