Great review, thanks. They seemed to perform really well. 👍 I drive a 17 year old car here in the UK and can't afford or justify the cost of something like Michelins or Continentals. We also rarely get snow that bad where I live and I also don't have a long commute anymore, so I think these might just fit the bill.
Really helpful and fun but helpful informative video. Seeing the tyres perform on the various road conditions was great to watch. I hadn't known of Royal Black A S tyres, so will be looking to have a set of these.
Good video.. Even I am looking to buy for only an year or two and stumbled across these tires.. How is your experience during this winter now that it is getting over..
Great video. Scared the heck out of me when you sped the video up though :) I have also bought tires from this vendor and will be doing so again. No issues so far, and a fraction of the price. Thanks for doing this!
Just picked up a set of these exact tires today for my 05 Cayenne ..... Lets see how they go .... I too will report back on my findings. They do get good ratings on the web ... We shall see.
Well after a month they have been excellent ..... The tire feels good in all conditions no traction issues and as they scrub in and get more use on them they so far are performing great !!
Hi Mike - These a W rated (ie. 6000 lbs total) so they should have noooo problems with an SUV - If you do get them, please let us know what you think of them. There is so little info on Royal Black tires, I am sure others would find your comments useful :)
I'm glad you found it useful. There is frustratingly little information on RoyalBlack. If you buy some please check back in and let everyone know how they worked for you. thanks Gustavo
Hi, I’m considering a set of these for my daughters Elantra. Now that you’ve spent a winter on them can you tell me how they’re holding up? Also, I’m in Calgary and curious where you were able to get these tires locally?
They will do fine I use these same tires in Calgary on a Nissan Versa Note and a Honda Accord. No issues and they handle great. Way better then the Michelin X Ice I have on my Lexus lol. these are around $60-80 Canadian a tire plus install
I didn't notice any range loss. I suppose there must have been some because they are not LOW ROLLING RESISTANCE rubber, but 97% of my trips are less than 75 k's (50 miles) so even trying measure the loss would be academic

Thx for the review. Now I can drive with them with mind at ease. BTW cool glasses, suit you very well.
The stud version are very slippery. So I'm not sure if they are as good you said. The studs are very small.

I would love to hear your thoughts. I really was surprised at how quiet they are and how they stuck to to the road.

@@space_114v2 How are the tyres holding up? Am thinking of putting them on my porsche boxster 987
@@space_114v2 That has been my experience too. Not the best on wet ice, but excellent on snow and gritty ice
What are your thoughts about these tires for an SUV? I have a ford escape and I am wondering about changing from all season to winter tires.

From you got them?
How much range did you lose with these tires on your EV?
Can we get an update in the spring/summer on their performance?
