The back door latch is still a problem. A crash not far from where I live killed a 4 year old girl when someone hit the back of their 2007 Chrysler Town & Country. The rear hatch flew open and the rear seat back snapped back, throwing her our of the back of the van.

This lady is awesome! She should be a consumer advocate, she's tough as nails! And who wouldn't be after their child was almost killed due to a defect, their's a total lack of corporate responsibility then, and in present day it has just gotten worse

Research the older Jeeps that blow up and catch on fire during accidents.

Holy shit, they knew about it the seatback failure since the late 80's, and the hatch failure since early 90's, and still they didn't fix it! They didn't change the seatbacks for the next two generations of minivans either, and thats concerning

engineering delay... yeah right. if this was a Japanese automaker they would have redesign the new latch in less than two months.

I wonder if they ever got the latches fixed. Where would be the best place to investigate more about this 19 year old recall so I know whether or not these would be safe to buy if there are still any on the road.

I have a 2003 Chrysler Town and country with just over 134000 miles and have had very few issues with it, biggest issue (besides the fluid lines needing to be replaced due to salt rust) was the AC Compressor Clutch went bad which wasn't a hard fix.
