Modric can be one. Not the flashiest, but quite like Messi, focuses on efficiency but has an insane stamina, read of the game, tactical awareness and of course top level technique.

The thing that always made me respect Ronaldo is that yes, he was a genius, but his skill didn't come from natural talent the same way as players like Messi, Neymar, Ronaldinho, etc. It always felt to me that those same skills came mostly from hard work and dedication, which made him the best during his prime.

Pep pulled a masterclass when he brought Thiago to Bayern with him. He's pure class.
It's interesting because his list gives you a glimpse of what he considers to be a technical player and it isn't really players like him. He didn't pick players who are great at big flashy skill moves like Ronaldo, Mbappe, Dembele, Sancho, etc. He chose guys who are more known for close control and being able to dribble in limited space.
You can tell he appreciates that Messi and Iniesta style of control and dribbling. Though in truth Neymar is one of the few who is good at both styles.
Dude mbappe and Ronaldo aren't technical they are strikers like read the game, positioning, run and score. Technical are more likely to dribble, That's how we define soccer.

Technically Thiago is only behind Messi. He dictates the tempo of play from deep lying positions. He has sublime vision and awareness. Technical wise: his range of passing: one touch, two touch, long balls, crossing, balls between the lines, passing without looking, his ball control in tight spaces inc head and chest, dribbling with an injection of speed and body feints coupled with knowing when to do so, dead ball ability and creativity, his reading of the game and positional sense, shooting from long range including volleying. He rarely breaks the front line for Liverpool due to his intelligence and adapting to his role. His tackling ability is right up there too as he reads the game so well and doesn't drive in. Basically he is a unique talent who can do anything with a football technically. I see a mixture of Scholes, Gazza, Xavi, D.Silva. He is underrated perhaps due to physical presence and few goals despite having sublime technical abilities. He rarely showboats too. First name on the team sheet. Teams are more likely to win games with him there: ask Bayern and Liverpool. Fact.

I am Brazilian and a translator English/Portuguese/Spanish). I didn't see Neymar say at any moment that anyone is more skillfull than him in this video, even though he named 5 players he considers the 5 most skillful players among which he includes himself. His favourite to play with is Messi (who everybody knows holds the title as number 1 at the moment). From what I understood, he doesn't consider anyone more skillfull than him at the moment. And he is probably right, he is the most skillful and not only a show man, he helped Messi to score many goals.

Of course Messi has better vision and better passing , again it's not a debate about who's the best player overall , Messi is , with no debate possible.
But there are certain areas of football where Neymar is better than Messi , and this is one of them
Neymar is a lovely person off the pitch. Sincere, kind, generous and evidently quite humble. DeBruyne, Verratti, & Thiago are all world class in their efficiency, clinical passing, positioning, reading and prediction, but none of them have a patch on Neymar in terms of technical ability.
Messi & Hazard I'll give if he considers technical ability to be mainly about dribbling as they're the two best dribblers in world football, but I still think Neymar is more technical all round. And I say this as a Messi fan and a Liverpool fan.
