I was looking to buy a Larrivee l-03-12 but when I listened to a lot of outstanding demos (like this one) of this one I have converted ;-) I don't care if it is made in China since the workers there make it exactly according to Guild specs.. It sounds so crisp and well balanced over all registers.. wow!

Hey Bro- just an update. Received my Guild F2512E 12-string a few weeks ago- Plays beautifully. Had some tuning to do right out of the box but that was expected , no big deal. Thanks again for posting this review, it really came in handy. As I was examining the guitar I noticed although it says "Made in China" it says "designed in California" I think that's why these Guild guitars on the lower end of the price scale are made so well- even though manufactured in China , they are made according to Guild specifications, that's what makes it such a quality instrument. I was blown away on how this guitar sounds at this price point- Bright, full resonance and sustain. Definitely a quality instrument. Enjoying all your videos and reviews. Cheers!

One of my decisions to buy my six string Takamine was based on your review and have never regreted it at all. Great guitar. And I'm in the market for a 12 string Guild next so I defineatly appreciate your review on this as well. Cheers bro!

Great to hear. I kept this guitar and use it for recordings. I've had 4-5 good 12 strings come in since making this video but the Guild beat them all on tone and playability.

So glad I watched this one....I hope LOL, just ordered a new one for 500ish. I was about to pull the trigger on something half the price, a fulton LS, but I could not find a good review. I recently bought a chickenbacker (about 380--direct from china) and a daneelectro 59x12, and I've been loving them. Rest of my electrics are from Monoprice, and they are so nice, and so cheap. Now if only I could play! But I'm lurching forward ;) You are the best!

@@FlowforthInstruments it’s a gorgeous monster, easier to play (at my primitive level), than I imagined. Action reasonably low, though eventually I’ll shave the saddle a bit. Sounds incredible. No flaws I can see. Really helps keep my interest going working on Mickey Baker and Barry Harris fundamental, with numerous UA-cam channels for genre spice :) Today I ordered a HB BM-75 after watching 60 cycle review cheap reverb pedals….using that guitar. It’s a pricey cheapie, and I hope my last guitar buy….till that IVY 300 something semi hollow comes into stock….if ever. The 500 is killer. Poor man’s L5 :) may I suggest you someday make a video about common guitar injuries and how you avoid or recover from them ?

    Hello,
I always have been a great fan of Guild acoustic guitars, however never had one, until one day my cousin let me try his 3 models...blown away by its sound, it changed my perspective forever!
Now, I am just starting to learn first and after that, I am going to buy a Guild Jumbo 12 string.
I have been looking online(however didn't find anything solid), I am trying to learn and understand Jumbo models, and specs of each model because I don't know the differences between models.
Basically, my personal taste would be a Guild 12 jumbo full body (non cutaway) all solid, chesterfield logo headstock, solid top(any wood which matches cedar in color?) solid rosewood back and sides, satin-finish neck, discrete inlay(not dots), mother of pearl rosette, but not new.
    Picky huh?
I would like to know which models were available, which types of wood were used back there, inlays available, specs wise and etc.
Can you suggest any link, or provide reading material to learn all the differences between the models? Or even if you can tell me the whole story.
    Thank you so much!
    Best regards,
    Ben.

For those kind of specs you will probably need to by one of the more expensive Guild USA models. I've had a few of the Westerly Chinese Guilds and think they are great value for money, however they are only solid top.

    • @benbjr
      @benbjr 3 роки тому

@@FlowforthInstruments I would prefer the all solid models and it's going to be like a lifetime buy, even if it is more expensive than others.
Don't get me wrong, it's not selfishness or anything, but I prefer the USA made ones as they are all solid.
It doesn't have to be brand new,
I honestly would like the ones between 90's/00's ...seems like a hard quest.
Have you tried maple and rosewood side by side? I don't care about cosmetics stuff etc, the sound is more important! I believe you and you said the version showed on the video sounds greater than you other guitar.
Let's say I play them side by side and the chinese sounds better, the deal is done!
      Thanks

    Hello, nice video!
I'm a big fan of 12's myself, I had only 2 12 string guitars, one Takamine and the other was a Fender(both dreadnought).
Now I just started looking/researching for another one.
Which are/were the other models/brands you had and their specs?
    Thanks, greetings from Brazil 🇧🇷
    Ben

I've had Tak 12 strings and I don't care for many of the new Fenders. I think this Guild 12 is fantastic - and I recently had a Teton that was great too. I did a video on that one too.

The only drawback is for live gigs you don’t have external tone controls and they are inside the soundhole.

I would comply if I had both at the same time. I will say that the Westerly D240 Ltd compares favorable with my American made D25 - so I'm confident the 12 string jumbo does too.
