That’s the sound right there. I actually did the Malcolm parts in a tribute in the very late 90’s. Used a duojet into a ‘78 2203. So much fun. You could really tell how big it sounded when we all were playing together in the bars. Big and dynamic.
Wow, I am genuinely taken aback at how good that sounds with the work you've done. And to make it flirt with Malcolm's sound with a Les Paul has got me spinning. Since watching this I've been having dreams of plugging my White Falcon into that beast. I am a living room warrior, would a super bass be too loud do you think? One is for sale in Poland $5,400 plus freight $650 plus GST $540 plus a trip to the Amp Technician say $500 - worth it you reckon? Fantastic video btw.
So how do label this era amplifier? Is it considered handwired since in reality all the components and wires were installed by hand - despite the fact it has a pcb? Hybrid pcb hand wired?
Honestly I think the term hand wired is misused, but it’s become part of guitar vocabulary so we’re stuck with it. But yeah, it’s hand wired because it was stuffed, soldered and wired by hand, not machine.
Sounds killer! Hope you're doing well. Missed your weekly live streams! Funny how it sounds tighter with the mods, but not nearly as dry as the stock amp.
I much prefer the post-mod sound. To me it has more growl and warmth. Pre-mod was "lacking" something. There are a lot of comments to Part 1 preferring pre-mod though!
Hi , I am getting a marshall superbass , when you are playing and demoing the amp , what marshall cab are you playing and what is your total setup to get that great mal sound. TIA
@HeadfirstAmplification thanks, what i have coming is a marshall jmp 1972 super bass with a 1960A 4x12 check grill cab with celestion speakers would this go OK for a malcolm sound
It’s a good question. It’s actually dialled in exactly the same as Mal’s #1 amp (the 1971) in the premier guitar rig rundown. I paused the video and set the amp the same. It’s the way!
0:48 Wrong order in case anyone gets confused.
Good catch.

Thanks for sharing, the Amp now sounds fantastic. Go Jason!
Any ACDC amp specs will be looked at with great interest! Thank you
That's the sound!!!!
Yeah he NAILED IT!👍
So cool! I'm a huge Darkness fan as well as AC/DC.
Dan is such a great person.A very humble guy
That's it. its got the smack and the Overdrive sustains
Nice work Jason
@murrayguitarpickups, You sir make some seriously great PAF pickups! I heard them demo'ed on the Doug and Pat show!
@@These_go_to_eleven_1959 thankyou, its a passion, certainly doesn't require the level of knowledge Jason has for these amps
@@murrayguitarpickups9545 Quite a few Virtuoso's there in the land down under!😎👍
@@These_go_to_eleven_1959 Great user name BTW !
@@murrayguitarpickups9545 Thanks! 👍
Awesome!!!! Sounds amazing!!! 🤟🤟🤟
F@cking brilliant that is!
Was better before i thought
Why did Marshall do the Baxendall? Thanks
Are you using an attenuator?
Is this modded to a 50watt or the full 100watt
Also this is turn up not master volume
I prefer the 0.1uf in my 2204 for sure.
Sounds great Jason! A great excuse to get yourself a nice Gretsch.
That's a massive difference. Vastly improved.
Glorius!!
I have a 1984 year, model 1992, Will this work on mine?
That’s the sound of rock ‘n’ roll right there!
Glorious tones indeed! Fine work Jason!

They are incredibly loud, you’ll need a load and tramp device like a powerstation or similar.
@@HeadfirstAmps cheers for the reply 🤘what do you think about the cost?

Wow I think Ratt riff stole that riff you were playing there around 5 mins 20 in
That’s Sin City
Really nice to see the amps out in the wild - especially nice with a major act!

Trust me it didnt sound anywhere to what it does now!! Cheers!

Marshall 4x12 with old greenbacks with a 57 on it. Amp dialled in exactly the same as shown in the AC/DC right rundown video (Mals ‘71 super bass).

Where are you based
Hell yeah 🤘
Really interesting to hear the difference between plate loaded and CF loaded tone stack, if I got that right 🙂.
You got it right!
When someone says a tone sounds muscular this is exactly the type of sound I think of.
Agree!
Love it! What a mighty sound! When you do the demos could you tell us the amp settings? Cheers!
