This city really needs a nice, big military base, to keep an iron grip on those pesky, rebellious wage sla- I mean to protect all those valued, hard-working citizens from no-good criminals, yes. 😁 =^x^=
As much as I'd love to see the new airport zone, it only makes sense to perfect Downtown first. That way you can balance tourist flights versus commercial & industrial flights and see where your priorities lay.
Hey Kibbits, I think you should add some sort of public transport to the zone, like an especial metro line that goes from the outter part of the city to the mining district, kinda like a express route
I think there's still WAY too much grass & greenery in the excavation area, should be all sand & dirt because that's how it works when you dig a big hole and that's they look in reality. That's why all those types of facilities adds a sand & dirt square under them to fit into the aesthetic.
If you were to do a live stream of detailing, for the ore area to make it more realistic 1. It is important for industrial areas to have fencing all around to keep out the general public, especially oil and gas 2. Open pit mines are stepped, or have benches to use the technical term 3. There is usually one or more ponds for water retention/slurry settlement 4. Mines are completely stripped of topsoil so there should be no green
Expanding on the little worker community could be nice, add in some shops, maybe a park, and transit to the main city. Maybe even a bus line within the mining area to move them.
This was amazing. the past week has been a bit rough for me but I love that kibits posted a video. It made my day. Thank you! Keep up the amazing work.
Just an observation - when was the last time you saw any foliage at the bottom of a pit mine? recommend changing grass to rock/dirt and boop in the boulders and such. Only time I've seen anything at the bottom of the pit mine other than dirt/rock was when the pit was no longer active....
10:20 wouldn’t I look better if you paint the whole thing with the sand paint, even the mountains (on the water side) and stuff. Maybe you should put shops around the small workersvillage, for the “ideal” work circumstances
Still watching - One thing with the mines is it could be semi-historical in the fact that water was used in early stuff (such a gold mining and logging) to make removal and/or transport easier. The mine could've been a small hill or something at one point that has just turned into a pit mine due to the ever increasing needs of ore. Explains why it's so close to the water at least.
I knew he was a man of culture from the beginning, but good ol' Kibz affirmed it with the Deep Rock Galactic reference (Rock and Stone, brotha!). Anyways, loved the vid, Kibz! Keep up the good work.
So with the big free update coming, are you gonna tear everything down to put the stuff in? Seeing that new stuff coming made me wonder how you'd react to it.
For Ore mining towns especially on the coast in tourist heavy areas, the owners build resort towns and vacation spots and everything you’ll see in a Florida area. This would fit perfectly in this city.
Kibbits, I live near the quarry, and I will say that it is covered in sand and stones, the fact that you left the green part at the foot and at the bottom of the quarry is absolutely ugly and does not correspond to reality. But in reality, even along the routes along which trucks drive 10 meters on the sides, they are also covered with sand and stones that have fallen from dump trucks. I hope that these objects that you used in the quarry will cover the green grass with a texture of sand and dust, so that the overall look is more organic than it is now.
I feel like the route between the mine and the harbor would deserve something like a cargo rail connection. Nothing fancy. Just something to take the cargo load off the road.
You should definitly ad sme other smaller coastal cities, hills and forests to the rest of your Area, not only on the island... Looks kinda odd if the only thing off of the main island are highways without gas stations or something different. You need wayyy more harbour area too! Its an coastal city at a river, all cities like this have big big harbour areas not only on the natural waterfront but also build more in the land masses!
A suggestion that would even take long and make the world so much more real. Add some very subtle smooth hills to the generell terrain around the city And ADD A LOOOOOOT of trees. I did it in my city and suddenly it went from game-y to just european xD
I think you definitely want to have both public transport to the industry barracks and some form of medical care nearby them. Mining is a dangerous profession, and industrial accidents leave lasting and very time-sensitive injuries. A nearby clinic could save countless lives very quickly.
Open cast-mining, that's so German to permanently scar the land like that and then move on to the next giant, dark circular wound on the land. Here in England, where English was invented, we rather dig into the soil and go deep mining, which costs more, but there are no giant gouges all over the land afterwards, and people can use it for other things than shooting post-apocalyptic scenes in, or maybe hold a death race or demolition derby in one after the gougers, sorry "miners" have gone.
TIL that Kibz learned xd I'm surprised that he didn't throw a bunch of forest between the waste treatment and barracks areas. Sight is, like, 80% of smell? Probably :3
There ist a mod where you can controll where the Industry buildings should dump their stuff so they do Not Delivery the ores directly to the factorys but rather to the storages and let the storages get the ores to the factorys
Hi I am quite new to cities skylines but I have played the game through game pass and really enjoyed it. I am thinking abt getting there mayors addition of the game but I am a bit confused about what mods you get. I would really appreciate it if someone could tell me if the mayors addition was worth the extra money or just get the normal game and buy mods. Thanks
Wouldn't it make sense to have a cargo t rain line going from the harbor to the mine area so that way it's shorter and relies less on trucks to transport goods? or at least have a second route of transportation vs the highway
HEADS UP - I won't be checking out the new Cities Skylines Updates for a bit because it's spooky with mods, but sooon TM!
Any ways to access the save files of this playthrough, including patreon, channel discord etc ?
That’s fine, your content is amazing with or without new updates
@Commenting chaos exactly

the deep rock ridge joke suggests you acknowledge the existence of deep rock galactic. Is this true?
cuz if so then ROCK AND STONE BRUTHA!
As much as I'd love to see the new airport zone, it only makes sense to perfect Downtown first. That way you can balance tourist flights versus commercial & industrial flights and see where your priorities lay.
Maybe you should add a public transportation system to the mines like extending the metro line so workers can get to the industry
Yeah and also a cargo railway line wouldn't hurt
That’s what I’m saying! Makes things more efficient AND higher profits!
Definitely
Also, a small pedestrian area with housing and such. Now, it isn’t going to do much for the mine, but it will make sense logically.
Might as well build some industry buildings there too so that the demand would lower a bit.
Personally, I think it'd be neat if your city had more elevation in general. Like, more gentle hills around the place might make it look even neater.
i agree! and with that a lot of greenery, such as surrounding the mine with a forest.

yup, he obviously never was at a mine.. No grass in the pit at all

ROCK AND STONE
If you ain´t Rock and Stone, you ain´t coming home!
ROCK AND STOOOOOONE
If you rock and stone, you're never alone.

FOR ROCK AND STONE
FOR KARL
So with the big free update coming, are you gonna tear everything down to put the stuff in? Seeing that new stuff coming made me wonder how you'd react to it.
What new stuff?
@@joost4525 new transit hubs, among other things.
@@OmniGundam777 nice
Keep them coming kibitz love them as when I see the city skylines it’s everything else is later MUST WATCH KIBITZ
For Ore mining towns especially on the coast in tourist heavy areas, the owners build resort towns and vacation spots and everything you’ll see in a Florida area. This would fit perfectly in this city.
Found this channel recently and have binge watched every city skylines video. Now I need more😂
I fucking love DRG. Have one character promoted and fully outfitted, and I'm working on the second
I think that yes would be the best answer to that question. Love the videos, keep up the good work.
When cities skylines 2 comes out i do think this series should contineu
Getting genuinely happy when i hear the "hello everyone I'm kibitz", doesn't matter how bad the day was this always chears me up
Did I hear a Rock and Stone?!?!!
Kibitz is getting money hungry agian😏

I think the city should be the next episode. Have a place and a reason for the tourist to fly into your city.
Maybe add a train station to the mining to both help in transporting material and people
I feel like the route between the mine and the harbor would deserve something like a cargo rail connection.
Nothing fancy. Just something to take the cargo load off the road.
AAAHHH! YOU PUT ONE OF THE WAREHOUSES ON COMMERCIAL GOODS INSTEAD OF LUXURY GOODS!
AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH
Love your Cities Skylines videos! 😊
So excited for cities 2
Oh No! Kibitz is becoming an industrial profiteer again!
You should definitly ad sme other smaller coastal cities, hills and forests to the rest of your Area, not only on the island... Looks kinda odd if the only thing off of the main island are highways without gas stations or something different.

and some marinas for the wealthier people
Can't wait for his lovely commentary over cities skylines 2
It’s amazing how good you are at using the landscaping tools i just make a horrible mess everytime
Make a cargo train in it for better transport
If you really wanna get perfectionist with it, do some terraforming so that the big mines actually have piles of dirt to dig through
A suggestion that would even take long and make the world so much more real.
Add some very subtle smooth hills to the generell terrain around the city
And ADD A LOOOOOOT of trees. I did it in my city and suddenly it went from game-y to just european xD

It's fun watching you build a city
The industry and shipping phase is my favorite. Bring on the spaghetti conglomerate of highway, train, plane, and boat
Your warehouse is set on commercial goods, not unique factory products. So you should definitely fix this.
Fun fact: We call the "Worker Village" a "Man Camp" out here in the oil field.
DEEP ROCK GALACTIC REFERENCE! DEEP ROCK RIDGE! ROCK AND STONE!!!
You should build a cargo train to the mines! Efficiency!
This has showed me that Im Kibitz doesn't understand a Bucket Wheel Excavator
2:16 FOR ROCK AND STONE
A youtuber like u should at least have 1 mil subs

I’d add a freight railroad from the mine to the port just to reduce traffic
Rock Ridge? Rock Ridge!? My mind is a raging torrent, flooded with rivulets of thought cascading into a waterfall of creative alternatives.
2:15 ROCK AND STONE!!!
Wasn't expecting the Steve jumpscare 😂. Great content as always, kibitz 👍
Suddenly a wild steve appears - Minecraft playthrough confirmed!!
and now the spiral into industry start! FOR MONEY AND OIL!!!
You can see how much your industry building produce/refine, so you can make it so as little raw recourses will be sold
6:39 I think Kibitz forgot that surface paiter isnt in the vanilla game
I like it, I like it alot. Maybe add a park or something recreational by the village (don't want a worker strike) maybe with a few trees
Now you should create a bus line inside the mine and use rock trucks instead of busses
Would like to see a mod or update that optionally stops auto imports of goods to empty warehouses so your city treasury isn't instantly drained out
Please add freight trains to this area ! Choo-choo ftw
U should get network multi tool u cam slope roads and create curves and more
There ist a mod where you can controll where the Industry buildings should dump their stuff so they do Not Delivery the ores directly to the factorys but rather to the storages and let the storages get the ores to the factorys
Do oil. Oil = money
A dam next to the mine would make sense.
Pretty sure you can disable the importing of ore if you're mining your own.
The kind of video i allways wait, thankyou kbits u made my day❤
ROCK AND STONE TO THE BONE
For logistics, put a port. Also, there is a mod to include river boats.
Now, all you need is a cargo train in your mining area shipping to the cargo harbor
Just a tip, convert the harbour to the bus-harbour-monorail hub
Based Blazing Saddles reference

ROCK AND STO...oh, just ridge
Kibitz could put a fence on the mine
Day 4 of asking kibz to do a surviving Mars play through
You have to turn off "vehicle despawning" in the traffic manager mod if you dont want them to despawn and also make the game a little bit harder
Should probably be a flood way and/or a quay by the quarry.
maybe you can build a carcotrain station in the mining industry
I say Airport because you’ll get a lot more tourist and also the only way your getting tourist is that one and only cruise ship harbor.
Kibitz 🐐
Kibbz I think you need the "Prop It Up" mod
Can you make a video where you start a fishing industry?
I'm quite curious how you would do this :D
MORE PEOPLE, MORE PRODUCTION
0:35 LMAFOO
Add a key wall along the river by the mine
Using the small extracting mines will give you more ore than the huge one
If I was kibz I'd be so mad that they added new harbors right after I finish my harbor
As a skylines player that has realism in mind always, WHY IS THAT DAM DIRT ROAD AT YOU ORE MINE SO STEEP
Yesssssss, more cities content :)
best ytb channel tbh
Could you possibly do the downtown for the next episode? I’ve been waiting for you to build it ever since the financial districts episode :)
I dare you to put a house at the Mining place :)
Damn Kibitz spare some change for us hes making straight millions out here
Wouldn't it make sense to have a cargo t rain line going from the harbor to the mine area so that way it's shorter and relies less on trucks to transport goods? or at least have a second route of transportation vs the highway
Hey kibitz I think you should make the city main downtown in the style of Vancouver downtown
i swear theres a deep rock galactic refrence in this video
We yearn for the mines
Rock and Stone!!!
