Great work! I've had my power probe for about two years. Every time I take it out, I'm rocked for how great that tool is. I also ordered the electrical auto diagnostic shop book from the same designer. absolutely great for diagnostic work. Both auto electrical theory and trouble shooting in one. Get it. Thanks again.
been working on wireing on my bike for the past two weeks. all the stuff you just went through... 1982 goldwing aspencade modified beautiful... your video helped me find the problem. the fix last 6 times was the fuse to the headlights. shitx 10 amp fuse blown; maybe shorted it fixing 5 other electrical projects on it. not i got her under control for her... LOL.imho,edwinstarr22
Great content. When you used the power probe to get power to the headlight and it came on i thought it would not work if the negative side was opencircuit as you found out later. Thanks for your help.
love this video brother :) Its so good to see how to solve the simple problems of things not working, that probe tool looks cool. I feel It could come in handy.
Great video. Ordering that Power probe right now! lol. All might lights work on my CB360, but rear running lights aren't, which is how i found this video. Thank you!
Definitely getting one of those probes!! Great video, about to start working on Dad’s old ‘77 CB400F and need all the pointers I can get. Super helpful to tool have
Great content! Pretty much every second of that 20 minutes was needed and helpful. I’m not getting light to a few of my turn signals. I’ll probably need to pick up one of those probe tools!
I like how you try to simplify the testing of the circuits. Before going to the easy part of testing the bulbs. Not that I understood it any better. I'm sure it's a very "drone " process for you. It's one of those things the more you do it. The more you understand it.
What are you saying how did he know the dude's running through it on his own bike to show you how you can do it on yours not because he had some assumption that many people out there have bikes that are older than 2003 2004 and most of which all could use new wiring harnesses yet they just don't f****** produce those damn harnesses for us anymore which is an absolute f****** s*** show but that's the only way they can keep us getting new bikes is by not making parts for the old ones anymore sad I had to learn that on a 01 LS650 Savage cuz I've got a motor issue and can't get the m************ belt off because it's belt driven of course don't want to drop the f****** rear tire can't take the nut off the belts pulling the mother f***** is just straight up seized on there can't heat it from this side the pulley is some kind of hardened plastic that would melt so basically I have to drop the tire or cut the f****** belt but either way the beginning of what I said it still remains true he was doing this because he knows most people out there have older bikes and this is normally a common issue with older bikes is some kind of electrical systems not working due to the wiring
Hey I have a 2017 snake eyes bike that need some love I got from a friend and my house just Brent down just lost two truck but was able to save the bike but it need a new paint job and wiring harness only want 500 buck it's were it but I wish I could of saved it my self but can't adored it
Did you just replace the bolt that grounded the ear thingy on the frame that grounded everything? Think so, video everything por favor, great vids, keep it up
Seriously, as much as you seem to enjoy wiring things up, you should come up here to Norman, OK for a weekend and help me finish my 68 Mustang. 😊 Great and informative video as always.
@6:22 you "throw" power (apply +12V) to the white wire. Very dangerous if you start putting 12V on to a ground wire which the headlight connector clearly has. You should have a big caution when using that feature of this tool. I don't have this tool so I am not sure what it does when you connect its +12V to ground - perhaps it has a protection circuit built in and displays a nice warning or tone. Regardless, still a bad idea to creating short circuits.
I'm gonna be getting one of those probes because I'm currently trying to figure out why my new aftermarket turn signals are both blinking when I activate either blinker now.... Hey wheres a good place to find wiring diagrams for my 97 Honda magna 750
cB400f - Installed a "turn style" Key ignition like how you start your car... with this I am having trouble wiring the oem style kill switch on the right side controls. The replacement oem comes with a red and black and extra black wire I do not know where to connect?
My high beam works but not my low beam I changed out the head light but still the same problem any easy tip on how to find the Low Beam Fuse on a Honda Shadow???
98 sportster I have changed to led headlight and added 2 more led lights to hwy bar tied hwy led lights into existing lights on hwy bar so less wires now when I turn switch on to lights on hwy bar wires get hot and fuse blows underneath seat relay is 12v 30 amp do I need bigger relay now or have to separate the lights frustrated thought leds pull less amperage
Hey bro, need some tips on possible wiring problem. I have no tester so, yeah. My bike has power but neither push starting nor kick starting has any responses like a totally turned off bike. I tried jump starting through the starter relay and it started but it needs constant revving to hold its power, if you let go of the throttle the engine dies. I heard some electric cliking noise under the gas tank. So, any thoughts about this? Thank you!
Very informative would you also help me with my bike, it's a yamaha 125cc problem is bike starts ok accelerates well down a slope but when going up the same slope it has no power at all, even with full throttle some other time it will has power to climb the same slope. Any help is much appreciated
I'm having an issue. I engine swapped my 77 Suzuki GS 750B with a 1983 Suzuki GS 1100E. NEW regulator/rectifier. It runs great but overcharging battery 15 volts at idle. Can't figure it out??
Great series. Quick question... you need a special charger for lithium ion batteries, yet the bike is able to charge it with no modification to the charging system... why is that?
OK, thanks. Guess that's why I often see people with newer bikes swap in a lithium ion battery without any further explanation, cos newer bikes already have a rectifier capable of charging it.
I’m actually wiring up my first CB550 so this was excellent timing. I’ve seen most of your videos but I’m wondering if you have any recommendations on step by step wiring guides. I’m going to rewatch all of your content related to wiring but I’m not confident I’ll be able to do it yet. I purchased an m unit because of you but I’m worried I won’t understand how to wire the bike properly. The wiring harness was basically torn out of the bike when I got it so I’m starting from scratch. Any help is appreciated! Keep up the good work Man! I wish the best for you
Hello,I have a 2018 hawk 250 dirt bike,I replaced cluster to a digital one and it seems it didn’t work,so I took it off and put back my old one, attaching every plug back they way I took off,now my headlight doesn’t come on and my blinkers don’t flash ..any advice is very appreciated..
Hi, great video, Won't you have overheating problem with the VR enclosed in the battery box ? I had that problem in a 1998 bmw f650 that came originally under the seat so I relocated it. Thanks for the video, gus
I'm leaving the front of the box open and drilling vent holes in the rear so allow airflow. Hopefully, that will be enough. If not we can look into other mounting options.
Power Probe "shot power to the headlight bulb" and got it to light, but the problem was a bad ground?? I don't understand why the bulb lit up if it had a bad ground.
Hello, can you help me my fuse on my 2016 triumph storm keeps blowing when I try to turn it on rear still lights up n power to display goes out. No accidents only ride 100” miles n then garages for a few months fresh gas new battery tries to start up n poof this . The #10 fuse is the k e that keeps popping
hi i have a honda 100cc , i upgraded battery from 2.5ah lead acid to 6ah dry battery, i installed the 18watt led the problem was on indicating or horn or pressing the brake dims the headlight on indicating it starting to flickering like ac headlight...but the electrician told me that it battery isn't strong so i upgraded the battery and still problem is there whenever i turn turn on light without starting my bike battery gets low in 10sec and light dims out instantly idk what is problem i showed it to 3 different electrician but they couldn't fix it please help
I've got a Yamaha that had a intermittent start problem..take off your throttle handle assemble..look closely at the internals to start switch..theres a tab that is supposed to touch the handle bar to complete the start circuit..bend that tab up just a bit so it makes positive contact to handle bar..also look where this assemble mounts to handle bar..sand off the paint from the handle bar ..assemble ...should start right up .. Good luck...
So my magneto has to work because the bike starts right? Also my alternator has to work too right because it starts so can I just wire my headlight right up to the alternator
Quick question ? I was testing my 82 CB 650 once I got the battery but I had mistakenly connected wrong did got spark at first. But the second time I connected I saw some little smoke out of the components box, and now there is no electricity at all. Where should I start troubleshooting from ?
If anyone has any advice I have a ecu fuse blowing everytime the key is switched on a 2005 zx10. I've traced the fuse wires into the ecu plug and have ran continuity on the neg ecu wire onto ground and got it. Does anyone have any advice ??
Hey I'm having a problem with my headlight. Every time I turn my headlight on, the fuse on the bike will blow. Is this because it is not grounded anywhere?
Hello.. I literally cannot find anything on the internet about this.. please help I have a 2001 Honda VTR superhawk 1000 my headlights stopped working the other night fuses fine all the other lights working perfectly fine just no headlight if anybody has any information please help me greatly appreciated thank you... and something I just now noticed was if I flick the high beams on it's not showing on the dash the blue light for high beams I would imagine that's not good
PLEASE HELP!!! i went to jump my bike off earlier and shorted it out, now my underglow led lights turn on but no power when i turn on ignition switch to the bike!!! how do i fix this? checked the fuse box, the fuses looked good. my bike is a 2004 honda shadow earo 750
I like how this guy, explains every part of the troubleshooting process. Definitely glad to find this channel
Great video. This is how i learn things. Explaining things like I don't know anything - cause I don't. Thanks!! Keep doing what your doing.
This is awesome. People wonder how I learned how to fix my motorcycle and car just from UA-cam. ‘Cause, this. Thanks!
Great work! I've had my power probe for about two years. Every time I take it out, I'm rocked for how great that tool is. Great video, putting this to use tomorrow. Thank you.
Great video, I hope to become a better electrician because of this video. I am not an electrician but a mere aspiring pupil.
I greatly appreciate your lesson, i learnt something on wiring, i will see if i will be able to do it alone. N watch again.
Thank you so much for your amazing videos. You explain things in a very easy to understand way. Great channel.
Thanks for this video, the wiring is a tricky thing if you don't know how to do it.
It's much easier to replace mechanical things.
I love going down the list and fixing things one thing at a time! Good feeling.

Always a pleasure, Terry...
Awesome video. Thanks for your hard work in educating us noobies.
Wow, that probes a great bit of kit. Ordering one today!!

neat I learnt some stuff........... I do have a issue with my starter......and I think I would benefit from the power probe
Great content! Pretty much every second of that 20 minutes was needed and helpful.

That was very useful. Thank you. You explained it beautifully. ❤
I'm definitely getting that Power Probe
Thanks for sharing!
Great details on troubleshooting, well explained. Definitely need one of those probes!
The power probe looks super neat.
Man your video was insanely helpful! Super grateful for this 😎🤙🏼
Love your videos buddy! I’m learning
Thanks for taking time to do this video. How do i tell which horn wire is live and which is earth?
I never knew you could service that brake switch. Good to know going forward. Ride safe!
That's one of the things I love most about older bikes. Almost everything can be serviced.
Hi can't wait to see you running her
Just ordered one, thanks for the review!
How did you know I was having problems diagnosing wiring issues on my bike!

See I would but as a Longhorn fan I'm forbidden to step foot in Oklahoma. :-)
Goodness, I need this power probe.

do you not also use a special regulator/rectifier for lithium batteries?
Excellent info. Ordering that power probe. Thx
I saw that power probe tool and had to pause the video right then to go buy one myself
Thats a really cool tool!
thanks man your video helped out big time
Great video. Thanks.
How do I find the wire to my parking brake and hand brake? My foot brake works just fine. New bulb installed and fuses are fine. Help plz!!
How about same bike but when headlight is on the taillight goes out. Bakelight works with either one on. Any suggestions? Thanks

Good primer on electrics... thx, ,Taylor.
were do u start to check if there is wire crossed
Great series. Quick question... you need a special charger for lithium ion batteries, yet the bike is able to charge it with no modification to the charging system... why is that?
I updated to a modern REG/REC designed to work with lithium batteries. 4into1.com/regulator-rectifier-honda-cb350f-cb400f-cb500-cb550-cb750/
OK, thanks. Guess that's why I often see people with newer bikes swap in a lithium ion battery without any further explanation, cos newer bikes already have a rectifier capable of charging it.
Damn may have to get a power probe, seems way easier to use than a multimeter!

Turn the sponsor button on. No one has to do it if they don’t want to but those of us who want to help can do it.
Didn't realize the sponsorship button is only available for channels with over 100K subs... Maybe one day!
I have a 1973 Honda cb 125 my high bean light doesn’t turn on and when turn the turn lights the head light blinks with them what could be ?
what was done with the Bolt for the headlight grounding ??
What is a good site to get wiring parts for theses bike I picked up a 1989 cb750c project and need to do some wiring thanks in advance!

Long time subscriber here. Using a power probe (which I have) how could I use it to test a push button ignition switch?

So my magneto has to work because the bike starts right? Also my alternator has to work too right because it starts so can I just wire my headlight right up to the alternator
what are the measurements of the battery as I need to get a smaller one than stock ones
Quick question ? I was testing my 82 CB 650 once I got the battery but I had mistakenly connected wrong did got spark at first. But the second time I connected I saw some little smoke out of the components box, and now there is no electricity at all. Where should I start troubleshooting from ?
I would hook up the battery correctly then just look for power and see where it stops. Most likely you just blew a fuse or caused a short somewhere.
BTW there's no need of sandpaper for that brake switch, just throw it into a vinegar+salt solution and let it sit
If anyone has any advice I have a ecu fuse blowing everytime the key is switched on a 2005 zx10. I've traced the fuse wires into the ecu plug and have ran continuity on the neg ecu wire onto ground and got it. Does anyone have any advice ??
Question, how much you charge to rebuild my carb cb750k 1978?
Hey I'm having a problem with my headlight. Every time I turn my headlight on, the fuse on the bike will blow. Is this because it is not grounded anywhere?
Its more like your positive wire is grounded/shorted somewhere..
Good luck..
Can i bike catch on fire if you ground it?
that green wire you show at the coil looks cooked the insulation looks like it has been melted at some point

Test your fuses with a meter /test light/ horn...looking at them doesn't verify that they're good ..
Good luck..
what happens if I'm reading 4 vlts not 12 vlts
When I flip my key there is a spark n pop n #10 fuse blows
bro, you vid is fucking awsome, pls dont stop making these!!
What other subjects would you like to see?
Anyone else really want a moto-vlog with the Triumph?
I did this and got the magic smoke :(
That probe or similar is twice the price in the UK, it's not called rip off Britain for nothing.
