Battery handling is easy to remember: Removing the battery is a subtraction: Disconnect minus (-) first. Installing the battery is an addition: Connect plus (+) first. Otherwise, you might bridge the frame and the positive terminal with your screwdriver while loosening/tightening the positive battery terminal, branding your favorite screwdriver with the mark of shame… or burn your whole bike down.
I inherited my father in laws CL200. The motor siezed 30 years ago. Over those past 30 years several people have partially dismantled it in an attempt to fix it. This video will help with the wiring anyway. Thanks
You are an excellent teacher, you break everything down in such and easy-to-digest manner that even a beginner who hasn’t done much motorcycle work before can understand. Thank you for making this video, and for educating me so well.
Just picked up a 1970 CL450 project and found your channel in the process, wow the information you share is so helpful, thorough and inspiring! Thanks for sharing your knowledge 👍
Glad your pointing out to folks the necessities of checking all these terminal connections in relation to ground. Many of these connections impact the overall running trim of these systems that rely heavily on that wire being there.
This was extremely helpful. Electrical is definitely my weakness, and this really helped me understand a key part of the system that I was missing. Thanks!
Thanks for info here, pal! I just got a 60s Yamaha YSD2, and it has two ground wires connected to the frame. I’ve only hooked up one to the negative terminal, but wondering if I should hook Up both? I appreciate the help!
I have 3 old Honda's helix, reflex, and shadow. Where you been all my life? Actually, I don't have any electrical problems (yet) but enjoyed your video just the same. Thanks
Just bought my first bike and have no spark issue… I want to check my grounds, can a head light wire or any ground wire for that matter we looked at here cause it to not start?
hi .thanks for the video. i have a yamaha xs400.with the bike running and lights on when i put the indicators on the lights dim in and out slightly as the indicators flash.any idea's 🤔
Hey there Brenden, Was wondering if you had any advice for me. Ive had battery issues for awhile now on a 2019 honda CB1000R, and just an example of the most recent issue - Battery died while I was out after i parked at restaurant. I picked up a new batter from auto store installed it and drove home. once home i connected battery to a battery tender. I did not ride the bike again for a few months and it remained on the tender the entire time. when i tried to start it today it showed voltage around 12.8ish but could not fully turn over the engine. ive had this same issue for awhile now. im several new batteries in :(. Any advice?
Question: if negative is grounded then why doesn't the battery discharge when we put our bike on the stand so that the earth takes all the charge since the actual flow of electrons is from negative to the positive.
I have a 1966 Honda S90, the past owner has the battery wired up with a positive ground. I plan on changing to a negative ground when I need a new battery. Has anyone encountered this and will I need to change any existing electrical components? Help
You are a briiliant teacher, I have been working on motorcycles since 1963 and still learn from you.

Thanks so much for this informative video. I was never clear on the purpose of the green wire in some of the connections.
That's an excellent and easy-to-understand explanation, thanks Brenden.
Thank you for such easy to understand explanation of the ground in a Honda motorcycle. This has really helped thanks again!
You did a very good job explaining this electrical system. Well done and much appreciated
This was extremely helpful. Electrical is definitely my weakness, and this really helped me understand a key part of the system that I was missing. Thanks!
Thanks, that explanation helps me a lot.
Amazing!! I've always had trouble wrapping my head around wiring and ground. This video helped so much. Thank you ❤
Brenden, you seem to really be grounded yourself.
Buh bum tssss.....
Timely video! Working through this right now
Thank you for the video and the easy explanation.
great as allways guys! you make me love my little honda more and more.
Wow, talk about easy to understand, thanks
Great information
Very useful - well explained dude!
I always think to myself in the tune of that bing crosby song "always first add the positive, always first remove the negative"
This was a really helpful and education video. Awesome job. Thank you for making this kind of content!
Very informative. Thank you
Great video, extremely helpful 😊
Good explanation!!!
Thanks again!

To be grounded to
Thank you 👏

Your a genius. Preciate you. I got it,
Hello, how are you, I would like to know if you can make a video of the complete electrical system of a honda cb 400f
Electricity is so much easier to understand and explain if you can visualize the flow of electrons.
Could you route all ground wires into one terminal, then single wire out to frame?
Just bought my first bike and have no spark issue… I want to check my grounds, can a head light wire or any ground wire for that matter we looked at here cause it to not start?

Hi I have a 1969 Honda cl350 and I don’t seem to have that handle bar earth wire any ideas as my bars don’t seem to be earthed ?

90% of my wiring issues on my cb500/550s always turn out to be a ground wire.
Another great video, thank you. Electrical gremlins suck. Will you guys be fixing cams and rockers again anytime soon?
