These Valuable Treasures Were Almost Thrown Away

  • These treasures were thankfully saved from being trashed. Cheryl Conroy Warren took a painting that her dad found in the dumpster to Antiques Roadshow and found out it could be worth up to $15,000. Max Brown also found something valuable while dumpster diving in Nevada: books that came from the personal library of Thomas Jefferson. Plus, one waste management facility in New York is really good at finding lost jewelry. Inside Edition Digital’s Mara Montalbano has more.

A friend of my father's once bought a load of what he thought was costume jewellery for about £10 and found a diamond and platinum ring in it - I think it was worth over £4k

I saw that dress years ago when it was on display in Vegas. It was made from VERY thin fabric. Back then, many of the dresses were made like that. It was small, too. She was a small size.

I work at a denny's and God bless our general manager....an eldery woman left her dentures wrapped up in a napkin and our GM want dumpster diving for them and found them for her. She was in tears, but I'll never forget how awful the woman's son and husband were to her. It made us more determined to find them for her

I think that when a jeweler's sells a very expensive ring, they should give the buyer two of those ring holders, one for the kitchen sink and one for the bathroom sink. Good P.R.

My rings were tossed once. A friend had them cleaned and we put them on the TV still wrapped in the tissue. The housekeeper tossed them. But we realized it before the trash was picked up and got out of the cans before the truck got there.
