I wore my Spaghetti Scametti to a nightclub and I was instantly surrounded by Italian supermodels who admired my luxurious taste in watches. Then I woke up.
New to the channel, I hit my mid-thirties and started this fascination with high quality, non pretentious watches. It’s very refreshing to hear Ben, who is obviously very passionate and knowledgeable about watches, appreciate watches based on their craftsmanship and value instead of the brand name and unreasonable price tag. Most of these watch channels I’ve looked through like to think that you can’t sit at the table for less than a thousand dollars. Love my G-Shocks and Eco-Drives, can’t wait to check out some Seikos now. Thanks for indulging my fascination!
Take a look at old automatic Seikos from the 60s and early 70s as some of them are the most beautiful watches out there with timeless designs, in my opinion. There's the downside in that an old one might be overdue a service, but even with that factored in, you're still spending less than £350 in most cases. I'm also in my mid-thirties.
@@TheBotleyBoy interesting. I’ve been warned away from vintage watches just as most probably have, but I took a leap on an old 1980’s middle eastern Citizen day date that looked fun (of course I got it and it’s way too small, i’m 6’4” and wear 42-44mm and this is maybe 36), but it’s really cool and keeps great time. It’s interesting that I can hear the rotor. No problems so far so i’m not opposed to vintage, i’ll look into your recommendations and I appreciate them.
@@thetruebatman4632 I nearly bought an 80s Citizen automatic not so long ago. It was a lovely watch and had a very small red eagle on the dial face, if I remember correctly (or some bird of prey). Nice choice. Same with my two 1960s Seikos, really. The first arrived in great condition and keeping time brilliantly despite its age. The history of the watch was unknown so I wanted to get it serviced ASAP for my peace of mind that it'd continue to run so well. The jeweller called the next day and said it didn't need it as it was apparent to him it'd had one very recently and had been looked after throughout the years. As for my other Seiko, again, works great with no issues but I'll book it in for a service in the new year just to be on the safe side. Anyway, happy watch collecting and have a great Christmas 👍
@@TheBotleyBoy You’re speaking of the exact same Citizen watch I have; the dial on mine is red and if it were bigger I’d put it on a mesh bracelet and wear the heck out of it. I’ve had my finger on the Seiko trigger for a while but I just haven’t ever pulled it I guess. I would love to grab some of their older divers, even some of the 90’s models really tickle my fancy. Hey Merry Christmas to you and yours as well! I guess there still are good people wherever you look, just have to look a little harder in some places 🤣
I’ve lived, for a week now, with my new but preowned Seiko 5 SNZH 57 that you mentioned in the Vostok review. Your quick comment on the 57 intrigued me. I tracked a new one on eBay from a seller I knew so that was a happy coincidence. I’ve had the watch for a week on a leather strap, my preferred strap on all my watches except an Oris F1 watch with a rubber strap. What a gorgeous comfortable watch and it’s automatic action is just fantastic. I’m delighted for £155 I also bought the Lorus from FH Hinds this week for £49 and you are so right. What a ridiculously gorgeous watch for the money
So it's been 4 months since I ordered my Spaghetti Scameti, still waiting for it to arrive but my friends already asking about it. The admirers are truly going insane over it. And they didn't even see it!! I'd say it is truly better than Rolex.
Although I do have enough credit to afford a Rolex or a Brietling, I don't think I'll ever go for one. I just prefer cheaper more robust, easier to service or throwaway watches. This comes from years of being in a career field where watches are necessary and easily busted/broken. I'm retired now though but I still love watches that show value but also won't depress me if it gets smashed. My most expensive watch is a Hamilton Khaki Diver that I paid $600 for from a reputable AD. My other watches are sub $100 dollars. Love your content Ben! Keep up the great work!! 👍🤩
I always do Quartz and not Automatic watches. I love my Citizen and Seiko Ecco Drives, as long as you keep them exposed to the Sunlight. I love my Invicta Diver watches, as long as they are under 100 bucks. Nothing fancy. I have had them for about 10 years and they keep on ticking as long as you put batteries in them. I do them myself and you buy the batteries cheap on Amazon. The Invictas are cheaper to buy on Amazon too. Great watch to show off. But as a Senior Citizen, I love a digital watch with large numbers, date, time, alarm, and day of the week, with a light that I push a button to see the display. Great when you are in a dark space like a movie, or concert and especially, useful when you wake up in the middle of the night. For these latter watches, I buy on Amazon, a Chinese made one, with very high positive user reviews. Usually purchasable for about 12 bucks. The batteries last a year, and when that happens, I throw the watch away, and buy another. Best bargain ever and very, very useful.
I picked up a Boldr Venture about a month ago. I'm not a fan of NATO straps so I put it on a Barton silicone strap and it instantly became my new favorite watch. The only gripe that I have is you either have to get one of the weird special editions or the cluttered looking Wayfarer model if you want a dial with a date window

I tend to watch videos while working, so only really half paying attention. I will admit the last part actually pulled my attention back with a WTF?. Nice.
Ill be putting you to the test Ben. I bought the Seiko SRPG37K to replace my 10 year Citizen Chandler 818 and ill say the Seiko is not even close to a real feild watch, After trying to use it for a month I gave up. im a golf course superindendent constatnly outdoors, wet, chmical splashes, sand, mud, tools and the Seiko didnt sit well it wears way larger than its 39mm and feels top heavy was constatnly needing to adjust it and found i was removing it often to get my work done. So still needing a watch I did some research and found this chanel your review of the SPRG37K and the trir list vid where you mentiond the Citizen Chandler being the only good citizen was so true to my own experinces I almost bought another Citizen, But then saw the Boldr review, took a risk and bought the venture balck so far so good, it lines up perfectly with your review I took notice of the nato comments and got the Boldr rubber strap and it does make the watch sit lower and it never moves all day i can do anything with this watch on and not notice it. I do miss the day date window form my chandler. And you are right the crown is perfectly placed and grippy, but, it might be too grippy as it has un-wound itslef a couple of times during the day. Thanks for the chanel
I got the Lorus in day/date form recently from Argos for £20 Amazing lumibrite and cool looking watch my wife took a liking to it before i even wore it, so i guess we are sharing it already lol.
1:52 you can always wear your nato with just one strap underpassing. There are a couple of ways to achieve that. I just did a very basic video on how I prefer to wear my natos on my 5.9" wrist, without the bulky excess strap-on the side of your wrist and one extra strapholder to boot.
Here is the link for whoever is interested. ua-cam.com/video/pIYm9ChtkDE/v-deo.html Please note that I am not here to advertise my channel. I have basic videos without production quality. It is just that I find that there are way to few channels catering to watch enthusiasts with slim wrists like yours and mine and there are some easy things that you can do that enhance comfort and possibilities in wearing watches.
Thanks for the videos. Here in the USA I cannot find that Casio A700 on a mesh strap or any bracelet. I looked a few weeks ago when you first reviewed it and again today.
Video suggestion. Ben, could you do a video on good watch straps for watches as well as there is a watch i got myself as an early 17th birthday present back in late April, it is the "Citizen Men's Eco-Drive Analogue Green Canvas Strap Watch". That's the name of it in Argos and it is on sale atm at £69.99. It is solar powered and has 100m water resistant with a simple, yet nice looking dial.
@@1954Antony on mine, the lume isn't too great and the movement isn't great either, however taking into account its a citizen eco drive that has 100m water resistant, it makes it hella good value
I do like that also the date is misaligned on that Spaghetti Scametti. And that the date is clearly in a different font than the logo. It is that attention to detail that really counts. Many brands misalign their second hand, but how many do the same for their date? You can look at this for hours and find new flaws constantly. I would have liked to see some misalignment in the dots at each 5min interval, but hopefully they are made out of a fake gemstone and one of them will fall out after a month or so.
There's a different way of applying your natostrap to your watch. When you put the watch on the long end so that the buckle of thr short end sits centered unter the watch, you can put the watch on, then put the long end into the buckle of the short end, and then close the strap completely. By using this technique you have the two layers on the underside of your wrist instead of under the watch, thus lowering the profile a little bit.
Of all the watches I have, I seem to reach for my $50 grey Timex Expedition most often. Nice orange second hand, grey Barton strap. 36mm for my smaller wrist.
Hey Ben, Thank you for the video! Hoping you still read comments on a 8 month old video, can you please tell me what strap you are using while shooting the Orient Open Heart? The brown leather one. It looks stunning! Thank you!
I am already subscribed but I would do it again like 20 times to get my hands on Mr. Ponzi's Spahetti Scametti. Loved it. Keep up the good videos Ben and Cheers from a future buyer. I will have to send you one of my custom watches one day. to really let you see something.
Unfortunately that model doesn't as far as I am aware Scott, though they have recently started introducing watches with Seiko automatics into their range, so perhaps they will further down the line?
Seiko 5 snk361 probably the best, its look elegant, classy, but cheap..my only concern is its energy tank only can hold up to 6-7 hours, max 8 hours so far
Would like to see a review on the Momentum Atlas 38mm. Titanium case, sapphire crystal, seiko quartz, under $200. Curious how it stacks up with the Lorus and Boldr.

Amazing lumibrite and cool looking watch my wife took a liking to it before i even wore it, so i guess we are sharing it already lol.
I have an SNK361 on black calfskin. It's simple, and calls no attention to itself. Winner all around.
All scams prices end in 7 ......its little details like that that keep us watching Ben good job great vid

Please note that I am not here to advertise my channel.
I want all of them! Including Spaghetti Scametti.
Dude! I love your videos
Bro, i think you should review some of the watches from TITAN. It is an Indian brand and it is one of the best i would say ❤️
Sahi bola bhai
Love the Kommy, bulletproof and vintage, got to love it!
Hey there! Thanks a lot for your videos! What do you think about Bertucci field watches?
Just got one of those in for review. Will let you know when I eventually get round to it, likely will make a video 👍
@@BensWatchClub Thank you so much! They really look rugged and tough at a reasonable price.
Can u do a review of the tissot visdate? Would love to watch that!
Review the most incredible Yugo cars too! Can’t wait! 😅
back in 2019. When our boy Ben still had hair... :(
On the back of both this video and the original review, I’ll be picking up the Casio Lineage (LCW-M100TSE-1AER) for my birthday.
Thanks Ben! 👍
Thank you for this video. I am now off to check out the current prices of then Casio M100 TSE and the Seiko SNK 361.
lorus lumibrite is the best full lume dial for the money
Hey Ben,
Thank you for the video!
Hoping you still read comments on a 8 month old video, can you please tell me what strap you are using while shooting the Orient Open Heart? The brown leather one. It looks stunning!
Thank you!
When I was a kid I think I had that Lorus - but possibly in the women's size to suit my tiny wrist.
I am already subscribed but I would do it again like 20 times to get my hands on Mr. Ponzi's Spahetti Scametti. Loved it. Keep up the good videos Ben and Cheers from a future buyer. I will have to send you one of my custom watches one day. to really let you see something.
Hi Ben! really like your videos. Please make a video on Titan Edge
The Depth Charge is a shocker. I’ve had 2 and sent both back
I have the Orient open heart bambino. It's amazing. I love it so much. I showed it to the guys on r/watches and they loved it too
I love your videos. Keep up the good work, dude. Does the Lorus come in an automatic movement? If so I will scoop one up immediately!
Unfortunately that model doesn't as far as I am aware Scott, though they have recently started introducing watches with Seiko automatics into their range, so perhaps they will further down the line?
I think we need an updated 2022 version.
Is this watch still available in this color? I can only find blue ones
Can you make a list of the best watches for women, please?
The grey Dial bambino in 36mm version would be a fantastic Watch
Anyone else actually wanna be able to buy the scameti watch???
That Seiko 5 and Casio Lineage look amazing. Can't decide between the two. Only can get one atm 😭
both
Seiko 5 snk361 probably the best, its look elegant, classy, but cheap..my only concern is its energy tank only can hold up to 6-7 hours, max 8 hours so far
Hilarious ending! Good job :)
Hi ben!
What camera did you use? Love to watch your videos
The owner of spaghetti scametti has pastaway 😢
😂😂😂😂👍
Now that you mention it, do you have a top 10 casio watch video?
The seiko SRPA25 should make it there too. Looks amazing in person, really really nice dial and has the updated hacking and manual winding 4R35.
Hey Ben, what do you think is the best minimalist automatic watch under 200?
congrats on the 2 year!
Love your channel. Great content
Would like to see a review on the Momentum Atlas 38mm. Titanium case, sapphire crystal, seiko quartz, under $200. Curious how it stacks up with the Lorus and Boldr.
