I’m so pumped!! My Mcness 3.5 is to show up tomorrow!!!! Can’t wait! I’m right there with you. I work at a place with boxes and I cut up said boxes all day.I will expose a bad heat treat with the quickness or a great heat treatment with the quickness!!
So I got lucky enough to pick up the full titanium mac2 3.5 auto & omg it is amazing! It fires harder than any Protech Ive ever handled & the fit & finish is absolutely perfect. Everything about it is just awesome even the blade is ground so performance orientated and the green/bronze anodizing looks so good. You just have to feel one to get it but worth every penny!
I want a 3.5 now. Dammit! I love my 3”. It’s wonderful. But there’s something about the size ratios of this bigger one that make me happy. And that frag pattern is awesome.
I was flipping all models at BLADE SHOW, kicking myself for not getting one. Welp it was between that or a Winkler and I had to go with the fixed blade.
Love mine that I got at bladeshow. I agree with your suggestion on slightly altering the shape of the studs. The barrels look good but aren’t always the most comfortable. That being said, it’s a great knife with all things considered!
I love my 3.5! It’s such a kick ass knife! My only complaint is the pocket clip, really not a fan of it. McNees really needs to figure out a milled pocket clip. For not at least Lynch is starting to make dedicated McNees deep carry clips.
I’m sure you know but in the new auto version he recently came out with he made the clip into a spoon like u suggested. Now if he could just add a steel lock bar insert and a captive pivot on one side instead of both sides being free spinning. If he does those easy easy fixes I think it’d be competing in the top 5 USA made pocket knives category
I can't believe you just mentioned Medford as a comparative knife maker to Mcnees. I've tried to own 3 of their knives and sold them all immediately. Would have returned them if G. Medford wasn't such a fucktard.
Hey Mc got a question?....In your most honest opinion is this knife 🔪 in your opinion worth the almost 600 hundred dollar asking price?!...I do like the blade profile and blade to handle ratio!...Looks real solid yet somehow not really worth 565 dollars 😉!
Oh god! You said Medford! anyway, I love mcnees knives and have been trying to get my grubby mitts on one for a while now. Another one on the "someday" list.
You’d have to handle one to get it. The feel in hand is perfection, action is insane on mine, holds an edge forever, small bath quality qc, and COMPLETELY American made. This knife is the reason I don’t carry my Koenig Arius nearly as much.
@@kaineemupIf he doesn't like this, there's no way he likes Sebenzas. American-made, Ti scales, very minimal design and aesthetics. These knives are closer in style than they are apart.
Ya. The over travel is stopping a much more likely failure. You don't pull the screws out of your knife every time you use it, but you definitely disengage the lockbar every time.
@@metal_complex man, the no over travel stop and lockbar insert is what's stopping me in my tracks! Which really sucks because I know I'd love this knife....if it had those 2 details, especially for $600!
I have a 200 hundred dollar Spyderco Pm2...I would like to know how this 600 hundred dollar knife 🔪 is something perhaps it could possibly do that my Spyderco Pm2 could not do?!...lol
It doesn't do anything different. The designer/creator doesn't expect you to think it does. The cost is in HOW it's made, and many other elements. I have a video on this topic
How does a Benz get you from point A to B any better than a Kia? What’s your spyderco do better than a knife half it’s cost? Does a Rolex keep time better than a Casio?
@@baileymoto I will tell you what my Spyderco does better then a cheap Walmart knife 🔪 😄 !....You see Spyderco actually uses a high quality steel that is heat treated properly SO my Spyderco knives actually retain an EDGE after cutting through a block of cheese 🧀!!!....And have a really well disgned compression locking mechanism!
@@MyRaven7 I’m not sure $100 is a Walmart knife these days. While I’ll agree that Spyderco is likely the best mass produced US made knife at the moment, even the Chinese and Taiwanese can give them a run for their money. But therein lies the rub….mass produced, as in economy of scale. Low production knives, regardless of where they are made, simply cost more. Heck, you can spend hundreds more on lower production chinese knives then your spyderco these days. If all you need is a knife to do a job, we can argue a $200+ spyderco is overpriced. Btw, what did that Spyderco Slysz Bowie retail for? Something like $500?

The difference between premium knives made in USA and premium knives made in ( for example ) China by Reate is ... well both knives are premium quality but the USA made is littlebit better. Better finish, better action, better every single detail.
Well part yes, but more for those who saying: ''china making better knives for half of price'' and shit like that... so no hate on you or something, I just I confirm your words .@@metal_complex
@@myshaks_bladeswell truthfully, there are very few US knife companies who can match Reate's quality. The knife in this video for example is good... but not on the same level. I think companies like Brown Knives, Oz Machine Co, Koenig, and Sharp By Design can absolutely match Reate, but those products are MUCH more expensive. Not all US folders are made the same way. These are fine though.
I had few Reate made knives and it wasnt so good as I expect. Im collecting knives like CRK, Hinderer etc.. and the Chaves was ... not in that line .. so I was disapointed.

Make it 4 inches and add a lock bar insert or overtravel disc. I'll buy 2 🤙

Already hard enough to get one..... now I want one even more than I did before...... damn.
I want one. $765 Canadian. Man it sucks being Canadian.
Thanks, MC. T-studs are fine (you should toughen up ) but agree with your lock bar improvements.
An "abovle" is any part of the blade above the bevel.
Hardware check. Are the clip screws T8?

Would it be dumb to trade an Arius Gen 4 for a Mcnees?
Extremely
The original version seemed so underwhelming but this one looks great. Thanks MC!
@MC I don't think that the link to DLT works.
I prefer stamped clips to milled

Awesome knifes
The Mac 2 3.5 is epic.
It's a pretty standard looking titanium framelock in 20CV, not sure why these are popular. Those thumb studs look awful. I do dig that blade shape.
One of the few USA company's that makes everything from hardware to blade in shop
