Welcome to Gamer Garbage! This is a series where my video editor buys me weird and interesting consoles, and I test and explore them! I really hope you guys enjoy!
The power button on the psx is jammed or the wire that connects it to the motherboard is ripped apart it's a common problem with psx consoles and that's why it's so expensive to get one with no problems
True story, While perusing a Goodwill outlet store, snagged a working (very clean) Xbox OG. I did the usual preventative maintenance, cleaned the laser, cleared the dust, replaced the thermal paste, pulled the failed clock chip, and eventually added a mod chip. Total cost: $5 for the console, $20 for the modchip, $25. Oh, and the reason it was in the outlet store? It had a blinking orange light, which was determined to be due to it not having an AV cable plugged in. Apparently they thought it was like the RROD that plagued the later 360s.
Oh, and for $10, got a Duke controller in excellent condition. I like the Duke, but then I also liked the 3D controller for the Saturn and the Dreamcast controller. What can I say, I have big hands and a big honeycomb taste. Duke controller big? Yeah yeah yeah, it's not small, no no no.
Going to say that myself! But, you forgot to mention that the light on that Memory Card means it has multiple pages for saves, if you press Select R1 I believe, it can switch, it's double the size from the looks on it to normal PlayStation Memory Cards, I've dealt with them myself in the past, I have one with FOUR pages of saves!
@@hazy33 It is cool. I don't know of any other system that increases blocks and block tallness, based on your save data. And I'm sure there are some that made something similar, but Sony's PS2 is known for it. And nobody else ever did that after.
logitech controller is a pc/xbox360 controller and its supports two types of protocol calls xinput and dinput. the ps3 using the dinput protocol calls for there controllers thats why it works somewhat on the ps3.
You know what the weirdest thing is. my parents actually got me the network disc for the PlayStation 2 but the weirdest thing is they never bothered to buy me the network adapter so I basically had it for no reason then
A few months ago while i was at my local Goodwill, someone left their PS2 memory cards inside some PS2 game cases and ive picked them up and i checked and see which cubes they have on the startup
The "FBI Surveillance Van" got me because I actually named my connection that. Just to mess with people. Seeing the neighbors reactions was funny when it popped up on their wifi search list. lol
that Logitech Controller is the one they used on that submarine that imploded (just different color) yikes, lol It's a generic USB Controller, not specific to the PS3. I bought this exact one many years ago for my PC.
I remember my PS1 games when I was a kid, I definitely never took care of my discs. Those could get pretty destroyed and still work. I remember using stuff like toothpaste to try and polish the plastic. Polishing with a coffee filter and the grainy tooth paste, washing it off then and then butter. Yes butter. Putting butter on a coffee filter and polishing it onto the disc would make them work. When I was VERY young... I would lick the discs and clean them with my t shirt. Pretty sure I wasn't the only one to do that. Lol
I remember the PS2 Combo Pack, alot of my friends had it and possibly might still have it today. You can sell the Playstation Memory Cards for like $8-$9 each. The PSX looks like it was ahead of its time. A 3rd party Logitech Controller? Just don't use it to operate a Submersible 😉.
I swear, older consoles and the accessories for PS2 and PS1 were nearly impossible to break. You'd have to beat the ever living crap out of those controllers. I used to swing my controller around by the cord and accidentally smack it on the wall... ☠️ Still worked. All of the PS2 stuff I picked up while I was collecting still works. Got a PS1 from a junk shop for 10$. It just needed the piece to hold the disc on. Old consoles are the best.
back when my dad was still alive atv fury 2 was his favorite game and i remember coming home and him asking me if i wanted to play it with him wish i could do that again

"You've NEVER seen this PS2 before..." I hope you're being sarcastic... lol I've seen the PSX (Japanese PS2 DVR combo, not what the PS1 was commonly known as here in the US) on many a video on UA-cam, but I've never owned one... I honestly don't see the point of getting one since all the stuff it worked with has been retired... It's a cool piece of history though... I'll give you that... It started what we know as the XMB or Cross Media Bar that debuted again later on the PSP and PS3. Cool video idea. I was amused :)
I had one of those Logitech controllers when I was like 13 and couldn't afford and actual Xbox 360 controller, I got it off amazon for about $17 at the time and it is probably the cheapest-feeling controller I have ever used in my life
I still have my ps2 with the network drive, hdd, and top mounted secondary hdd extension port. Was my main method of playing FF11 back in the day. Feels like a beast to pick up 😂
The PS2 is one of the best game consoles ever and it's also one of my most favorites too! I still have an old PS2 which is over 20 years old already and it still works fine so far as far as I know even though the clock battery on my PS2 is also dead now.
Nope, but close. This is the F310, wired with no rumble. What those fools used was the F710, wireless with rumble. A good controller, provided you have spare batteries, and aren't insane enough to use it to control a nasty deathtrap that will turn you to ketchup because you skimped out on materials that were crucial to withstand massive depths, and the pressure those would cause. Maybe firing the engineers wasn't such a good idea after all.
You could be right. I honestly gave it literally 1 chance because I was not in a good mood 😂 I didn’t troubleshoot at all. I just heard the buzzing, saw it not turn on, saw the listing said for parts, and I gave up lol
