Draft Dominance : The Conroy Chronicles. Craig Conroy leaves no stone unturned at the 2024 NHL draft, setting the stage for a new era of greatness for this team. Let’s Go!
Hell of a draft Conroy. Loved the 2nd round and maybe a couple late round gems there. The cupboards are already starting to look stocked. Great start to the (proper) rebuild.
I'm totally happy with the draft as a whole. The vancover 1st rounder was a tad of a reach but he was supposed to go in the 30s so not too bad. All the other picks were good value and mocked to go around where they went. Solid draft!
Over half of the major media ranking sources had Ahhndrew ranked in the first round. He was ranked #19 by Cosentino and #21 by Bukala. Battaglia was picked about where he was rated on aggregate. Solid pick. I know you are just looking at round #2, But we got Luke Misa @ 150th, which is insane. Smaller, but still. We also got Henry Mews at 74. Seems this draft they started prioritizing upside, especially in the later rounds. The only pick I wasn't thrilled with was Trevor Hoskin @ 106, who feels a lot like an overage Jankowski type of pick. Overall I am pretty happy. Best part of the draft was picking up another Ahhndrew. ;-)
Daily Faceoff just graded all teams draft and only three teams got an A+ and that was the Sharks, Hawks and the Flames. Early days of course but nice to see.
Craig Conroy and scouting staff nailed this draft!!! Next year we get Porter Martone and Caleb Desnoyers and 2026 we get the main event Gavin McKenna!!! Flames will bring the cup home
we did end up drafting 3 centers later on though. i wonder if the americans fleeing canadian teams for american teams in the past decade has an impact cause out of 39 american players drafted only 4 went to canadian teams prob just a weird coincidence.
Seattle taking a center every pick right before us. They should stay in their lane. For sure they would have taken Tij at 8. I suddenly hate the Kraken. Much rather Tij in Utah than Seattle.
What are you on? Don't get me wrong tij is very promising but so many people think he's the second coming of christ because of his last name. You could use andersson and a third rounder and get a 2026 first from a team like Toronto who need better dman but are tight on cap space, however they just got the rights to tanev.

I like puck battlers. Championship teams are made from winning the battles for pucks and being physical,

LOL
Flames should trade Anderson, 2025 1st, and 2025 2nd to Utah for Tij
