    This explains so much actually! I think this is why I subconsciously have been keeping my goals and "art plans" to myself lately. And in exchange have been more productive! I didn't know there was a science behind it!

      Right!? I didn't know this either and it made so much sense when I started keeping things to myself and got more done

    I always thought telling people my plans would help keep me accountable but actually there's almost a shame that follows when I inevitably do not follow through, which kind of digs me deeper into procrastination. Great video - thanks for sharing!

      Oof it feels like you read my mind, I've felt that way too often. Glad you enjoyed the video

    This happens to me constantly! It feels good to see it spelled out in a way that makes scientific sense and not in a way that makes me feel like someone who starts things and just doesn't go through with them. Thanks!

    I feel better knowing this is a thing!! Literally said to myself the other day "I'm not telling anyone this time! Every time I do, I don't don't do it!!" Always thought it was a curse! Thanks for you videos 🙏

    Thank you for this. I knew about the first part and have experienced it many times. ☹️ But I didn't know about the second part. It makes sense! I think this is why announcing your goals to everyone as a way to "keep yourself accountable" has never worked for me. It always backfires. Thanks again!

    Lol I did this, yep. 😅 So many times lol, gonna have to think about who I tell, maybe my journal and just keep documenting it. Thank you for making this video. 😂

    yeah I started recording. every study/drawings from imagination at 6fps and speed up them X10, (to save disk space on unnecessary frames) I already have 80gb of videos. and uploaded a lot of my drawings from imagination in my channel. the cool thing is , video is better than just a drawing file to observe your improvement, and the way you drew 4 years ago to how you do it today

      Omg that's a lot of video, that's amazing! You make a good point about observing improvement, I kind of wish I had video from my early days lol

    I feel like this is why I only give people a general idea of what I'm working on, anything too specific and yeah it's that shoot yourself in the foot feeling 🤣

      Haha I wish I knew this sooner! I shot myself in the foot one too many times to learn this lesson 😅

    I made a separate UA-cam channel for accountability but now Im having second thoughts.. now im stuck in a place where I dont even care why im doing the art but im stuck making something every week. Its rough.

    I did and end up crashing and it didn’t help we were called artistist or professional in training because it puts us in a mindset where half and artist or not exactly professional

    • @ZephyerArt
      @ZephyerArt  11 місяців тому

      Yea that kind of mindset is puts you down and stunts your growth. I'm sorry to hear that 🥺

      I think the music is good. This ain’t a movie. It’s a tutorial video. If there wasn’t any music at all, it shouldn’t matter.

    Extremely disrespectful of you to show people's earlier works and call it "nothing" when you say they went from nothing to being a professional artists

    • @stevenxnguyen
      @stevenxnguyen 11 місяців тому +7

      I think intent and context matters here. I would agree with you if he put up someone's artwork and said "this is nothing", which is not what he did. In this context, he was speaking about an artist's journey from nothing to something and the works displayed on screen while he said that help illustrate the progression from humble beginnings to becoming a thriving artist.
      I think his intent was clear. If you roam around the internet looking for reasons to be offended, you will always find one.

    • @cherrycookie7365
      @cherrycookie7365 11 місяців тому

      @@stevenxnguyen you're wrong there, saying someone's artwork was nothing is exactly what he did. He could have called it humble beginnings, he could remark on the improvement, but he didn't do any of that, he called it nothing. There's enough negativity in the art space as it is without him berating other people's work.

    • @stevenxnguyen
      @stevenxnguyen 11 місяців тому +3

      Hey I'm not going to respond any further because I don't really care for arguing with a stranger, over our differing interpretations of his message, in the comments. I was just hoping to express a different point of view to you which is that he did not explicitly say "this art is nothing" - that's simply your interpretation of his message.
      I appreciate that you are sticking up for artists but I think you should consider that maybe you're the one bringing the negative energy.
      The video itself, in its full context and intent, has a great message for artists and that's what I chose to take away from it. It's up to you what you want to take from it. Like I said: if you're going to be roaming the internet looking for a reason to get upset or offended, you'll always find one.

      @@stevenxnguyen You are extremely invested in the theory that I'm looking for things to be offended by, which I'm not. I think the wording is harmful, you don't, that doesn't mean I'm looking to be offended by things on purpose. Really ironic that while you're explaining to me my supposed motives and how you know better why I do things I do, you yourself say you're not interested in continuing to argue with me but wrote 3 whole paragraphs :P
