ABC'S 'TWO MARRIAGES' NOW A WEEKLY SERIES

AFTER a limited run a few months ago, ''Two Marriages'' returns to ABC tonight at 8 o'clock as a regular weekly series. Set in a small mid- America town that is still rural around the edges, this is a ''nice'' soap opera for all those people and groups who might object to the steamier aspects of the network's ''Dynasty'' or ''Hotel.'' Overflowing with middle-class values and morality lessons, ''Two Marriages'' is an updated version of ''Father Knows Best,'' mixed with several generous dashes of ''The Waltons.'' If nothing else, mother is now getting a bigger piece of the family action.

Around the time of this show I had C. Thomas Howell pictures posted all over my bedroom. My sister and I both liked him and I would tell her he is mine lol. Later I lost my interest in Tommy until I happen to come across a talk radio show he was hosting in the 90's. It was about the entertainment industry and he would have famous guest appearances. It was cool too because Tommy would also talk about his life. It was on for Two hours on Sunday nights. Sadly though, it was cancelled because Tom didn't have time to devote to the show anymore. I still really miss it. Oh and eventually a friend, who was cohosting with him, had written a theme song to use at the beginning. I don't really remember how the song went but I thought it was GREAT.

I wasnt even born when the show first aired.... In 97 I read The Outsiders and saw the movie and I became obsessed with tommy howell and tom cruise... now I'm obsessed with rob lowe and Tommy again

It was one of those hidden gems.
This episode shows what promise this series should have had and the dramatic possibilities it entailed. The two families were very different, but were the same in they were the safety net it should be. The problems were different, but yet, they came together when the need arose, in this case, Scott running away, and Shelby coming to his aide. Well done, all!

Louanne is a lovely little gal. Her character, Shelby Armstrong, is a very wise gal, and could get through to Scott where nobody else could. A shame that we've heard nothing else from her.
