      Rhonda, thank you for this video. I'm crearing a training manual and get stuck with formatting referencing and inserting a space for notes. many people like to scribble aha notes to remember later. What would you suggest? Could I just include lines or blank space at the end of each chapter?

    • @rhondamjordan
      @rhondamjordan  Місяць тому +4

      @@anitaduplessis2865 - For your training manual, I would insert a blank page at the end of each chapter (or the end of the manual), whichever you prefer. Next, select the rectangle shape from the Canva Elements tab and add it to your page. Stretch it to your desired size.
      After that, select a text box and type the word "Notes" in, and drag that to the top of your rectangle. If you want lines similar to what you would see in a notebook, click on the Elements tab again, and in the search bar, type in "college ruled lines."
      You should be able to find lines that are already spaced properly. All you should have to do is change the color of the lines to match your training guide's style.
      I hope this helps and thank you for watching!

      @@rhondamjordanThis is a super useful set of tips. Thank you for posting them publicly. I’m only 0:28 seconds into watching your video, so I don’t even know what I’ll learn yet. However, my practice, when watching educational video tutorials, is to check out the comments section as the video gets started, to find out what others think of the info presented, and whether or not they’ve found it useful. This answers a pile of questions that I did not even know that I had. Now, I’ve suddenly got ideas for more ebooks and guides. I know what I want to write about (and, by the way, this is info based on my own life experiences, not AI generated), and am in the process of learning how to turn thoughts into something worth buying, so that I can grow my business while helping others to live more fulfilling lives, learn something new, and more. Thank you so much for explaining how to do this “notes” page. Much appreciated! I feel like I’m going to make multiple comments on this video. I hope that you won’t mind. Please don’t feel like you need to respond… I’m just here now to thank you for your efforts here, and to help boost channel engagement, since the UA-cam algorithm seems to appreciate understanding the sort of content audiences like. Cheers! 0

    I'm not sure if it's true, but I have the impression that
    canvas applies the copyright policy when someone makes
    commercial use of their products to create an e-book!
    Can you please clarify this for me?

      According to Canva, you can only sell "Original Designs."
      You can create an original design by modifying the templates found on Canva by changing a combination of design elements (e.g. images, videos, audio files, other media, text, illustrations, background features, etc. ) and editing techniques to make a "new" creative work. (This comes from Canva's website).

    Love your videos, and a question: Is there a way to bring in pages of text into the Canva template. I'm assuming only through google docs, not Canva docs? Or are you copying and pasting the entire text of the book bit by bit?

    • @rhondamjordan
      @rhondamjordan  Місяць тому +2

      Yes, you can copy from any writing software such as Microsoft Word, Apple Pages including Canva docs!
      An easy way to copy from Canva docs to a Canva template would be to open the Canva doc in one tab of of your browser and then open your Canva template in another tab of your browser.
      Copy a section of the text from your Canva doc then paste it into a text box in your Canva template.
      Yes, you would be copying the text of the book bit by bit, but this allows you to format your text as you go.
      I hope that answers your question. Thanks for watching; I'm glad that you enjoyed the videos!

      Just the other day, I was reminded of a funny story about stains.
      I’d been married a couple of years. My husband and I had recently moved into the first home that we purchased, in North Pole, Alaska. One day, while trying almost desperately to clean my kitchen, I phoned my mom in frustration, saying something like, “Mom! I don’t get it! This house has a stainless steel kitchen sink, but it is full of stains! How the heck am I supposed to clean it?!” I remember her reply: A belly-shaking full-on laughing fit, which of course also got me laughing. She and I - when we both get to laughing together - sound like laughter in stereo, which is even more funny. Anyway, she helped me through it, but I do not remember what she told me about cleaning that sink. That was about 36 years ago (I know, because that’s how old my oldest son is, and he was a baby then). My current home also has stainless steel sinks. I can google how to shine them up, but I have other things to do right now. I look forward to your stain removal guide, is what I am really getting at, for I am someone who will benefit from the info, *especially* if whatever you recommend isn’t harmful to humans or canines or the environment that I live in. Cheers!

    Hi Rhonda. Is it possible to include a workbook with the eBook that customers can complete on their computer?

    • @rhondamjordan
      @rhondamjordan  20 днів тому

      Yes, you can create a workbook however making it fillable on their computer requires an additional step.
      After creating the workbook in Canva, you would download it using the "PDF Standard" option.
      Next, you would head to the website pdfescape.com. You would upload your workbook and then add fillable text boxes where you would like your customers to be able to enter information.
      Finally, you would save the pdf with the fillable text boxes and then download it. You would share this copy with your customers.
      Let me know if these instructions are clear. I may need to add this to my list of videos to create.
      Thank you for watching!

    Hi Rhonda. I hope you can help. I created an ebook after watching your video. It came out great. But I have a problem I can't figure out and hoping you can help. I added a few links inside the document that link to certain UA-cam videos. The links work fine, but they open in the same browser tab and I want them to open in a seperate tab. Do you know if that is possible and how to do it?

    • @rhondamjordan
      @rhondamjordan  26 днів тому

      Hey Jeff, try this to fix the issue you are having.
      Click on Link (side menu), then click the Open Link menu, then under the URL you would to link to, click the slider that says "open in new tab" and slide it to the right so it turns green.
      Make sure to save your changes, then try clicking the links. They should open in a separate tab. I tried it on my example book and it worked.
      Let me know if that works, if not, I may have a workaround solution, but I think the option above should solve the problem.

      @@JeffHovsepian - Now that the flipbook is on your website, is there any way to edit the link (I'm thinking out loud)... If so, you could try to add the following to the end of your URL to force it to open in a new tab
