I saw Zepplin at the Long Beach Arena in 1975. They will always be my favorite band. I learned to play harmonica to Bring It On Home when I was 11 years old. I play blues harmonica professionally to this day. People always ask me how I chose it as my fav instrument. (They’re always surprised because I’m a woman). I tell them Led Zeppelin 1 changed my life!
My boyfriend at 16 introduced me to them. We saw them in 73. I married that Zeppelin lover.
Yeeeyah Baybay !! 👋😁✌️👈😎👌How Young ya now ?? LoloL.

So cool
Thats awesome. I'm learning to play now. Zeppelin, Neil young and the black crowes are helping. ❤
My mom bought me this album for my 18th bday. I wanna say it came in a plain brown wrapper. She was a great mother.
There were 4 different covers for this album as I remember it.
All of them came in a brown paper wrapper. You didn't know which you were going to get as a buyer/fan of Zeppelin until bought and then opened.
That's the way I remember it.
Now you have the internet.
It's better than my memory,
most of the time, until things get deleted and rewritten lately.
Keep your books and magazines.
It did come in a brown wrapper, because there were a few different album covers for this album.
I don't recall exactly, but the covers were all the same scene with some slight differences. Like maybe a different person sitting at the bar. Was so long ago, can't remember exactly
My first rock album was Alice Cooper's School's Out. It came in the school desk cover, when you opened it the album itself was in a pair of paper panties. While she was also a great mother she was not amused. lol.
The album had 6 different covers...each one was the view of one of the six people at the pub...that was so cool
I remember that album well. To this day I have accused my brother in law for borrowing it and not returning it.
I bought the cassette when it came out in the summer of "79", played it in my "73" Cutlass on my self-installed Pioneer KP-500 with Jensen speakers, driving to high school all thru my senior year.
Hell Yeah!
I was a badass 13 who was bullet proof & ten feet tall
We All rocked with this record.

"Pioneer KP-500 with Jensen speakers" I listened through goodmans 120 and Kef speakers :)
Nice
Ten years later I was a high schooler blaring this CD through a state of the art Denon system. Great record!!
I was 17 years old, and I had just driven this girl to her house to drop her off. She was like, "I still have some time to drive around, if you want." As I pulled away from the curb, "I'm gonna crawl" came on, and she reached out and held my hand. We've been happily married now for 30 years. Another Led Zeppelin success story.
All the best
wow man, what a story!
Right on brother. I married my high school sweetheart, turned her onto zeppelin. We went to so many concerts together. Unfortunately, I lost her seven years ago unexpectedly and suddenly. Enjoy each day with your better half brother.
Dude, what an iconic memory to share with everyone. You knew she was a keeper. I love it when music of the past brings you back to a perfect moment in time. A date dance, a roller skating trip at the rink with your favorite girl, a party, or just hanging out with your buds drinking a bunch of cold ones during a summer's day. PERFECT!
Sounds like a fairytale Story that you’re mom would tell you to make you fall asleep 💤 😔
My uncle saw LED ZEPPELIN at the Atlanta pop festival when they were still called: The New Yardbirds! He knew Jimmy Page but was unprepared for the vocals of Robert Plant and the rhythm section of Bonham and Jones!
I don’t always listen to LED ZEPPELIN, but when I do, I make sure my neighbors get to enjoy it also!

When my oldest daughter was 14, I gave her burned CD wth a dozen or so of Zep's finest. Fast forward ( she's now 35)and i go over to eat and she plays this album. Lol. Thanked me for turning her on to them. Dont forget to expose the youngster's.
So 😂
My first experience was left stage with a box of crayons and Hot Wheels. Seven-years-old blossom music center Richfield Ohio . Mom went to pick up Dad from the Navy reserve Norfolk Virginia and brothers and sisters couldn't miss the show so they took me along with them my brother was an usher been getting the LED out ever since
Phrasing!?😂
In late 70s when we went camping in Northern California. I would camping for weeks at a time and 7pm every night I would put on the Led Zeppelin hour fir all to hear and then started to get requests. The best of times.

The music that Led Zeppelin recorded and released between 1969 and 1979 can never be duplicated again. Their music will forever be timeless
I'm glad that I was alive in the seventies. Bonzo died when I was 12.
They pull a lot of out of the left field. That is where the new stuff comes from.
Never be duplicated again? Er, when was it first duplicated? I'd love to know.
Forever timeless? As opposed to that timelessness that keeps stopping?
As for the music that Led Zeppelin 'recorded and released', I'm pretty sure that LZ wrote and performed that music too. 😋
Sure it can.

1971. My senior year in high school. An incredible era for albums. Top of the list. Led zep III. Santana Abraxas. Neil Young After the Gold Rush. Perfect soundtrack for a lid of Mexican brick weed and a circle of heads sitting on the floor in my home boys bedroom. And fantastic album art.
I keep going over how unbelievable 70 through 75 was it wasn’t just quality of stuff like Led Zeppelin but right next to it mind blowing bands of unbelievable QUALITY
output.
AC/DC, Aerosmith, Beatles, Black Sabbath, David Bowie, Chicago, Doors, Eagles, Elton, Floyd, Heart, Jimmy Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Joe Cocker, Rush, Santana, Scorpions, Stevie Nicks Band, Stevie Wonder, Stones, Tom Petty, Three Dog Night, Traffic, UFO, Van Halen,
I just want to go back to those years, grow a shit ton of of the best fucking weed anyone has ever seen period and show up to some shows and Stone out everyone!
You forgot Boston, Journey and Pink Floyd 😁🤘

Sad but true.
This album was a peek into the future of music. It was like nothing else released at the end of the 70's. Led Zeppelin laid down a timeless album that never sounds stale. An achievement that's rarely ever pulled off by a band.
I think Zeppelin was much better when they WEREN'T anticipating the future of music, most of which was not nearly up to their level.

JPJ is an incredible musician. This was mostly his baby and it really showcased his talent. Awesome work!
I agree, he's totally unappreciated as the best bassist, probably ever!
this was JPJ's " Presence "
Too often overlooked.
Yes it was Jones ' album, and I had the pleasure of meeting JPJ and having him sign my ITTOD CD. A soft spoken man of immense talent.
He's extremely talented. I must say that he comes across in interviews as a bit of a dick.
I had a ha JVC turntable and receiver but I used to listen to this song on UA-cam actually I listen to it now on UA-cam I'm 67 now
Always have to crank the volume up on "In the Evening", especially for the intro. Bonzo's drumming is still in it's prime, shame he left us so soon. Hoisting a beer for him as we speak!
Im in bed listening to this track so, no beer involved but I will raise a toast tomorrow after work to the late, great Bonzo.
You should be having a case of beer, just saying.
I was gonna say it but Hell, you did a fine job. Great post.
It's my all time favorite song by them. I play keyboard and that riff tickles me so much I learned the song from beginning to end ❤❤❤❤

I was 13 when I started my Led Zeppelin journey. I remember rewinding the tape to hear those eerie sounds in the intro of In The Evening over and over because it sounded so ethereal.
I bought the album in 79 as a birthday present to myself
Yes, if we don't expose the youngsters, they will only know the plastic music of today.
I live in southern California and in the summer of 1979 I was in Cape cod and bought this album and came back to California in August and the album wasn't even for sale here yet I was at every party with the record it got me in everytime I put money down on tickets at the LA forum the the dreadful news came out the Bonzo passed away the rest is history, and what a great album.
I’ll always have a soft spot for 1979. It was a crossroads year. Early ‘79 was actually the beginning of the’80’s…and the end of an era.
yes seems every decade there's a turnover - the music of the 70s - prog supergroups and arena rock was replaced by the pop radio friendly bands of the 80s, The Police and Cars come to mind...

I was a kid in the seventies but I still miss those years.
This album is like a cousin to Houses of the Holy in it's eclectcism. You get a honky tonk number followed by a progressive/ space rock epic. John Paul Jones played a major role on this platter and it shows, he is a damn good keyboardist as well as bassist.

Saw/heard ZEP in July 1969 in Milwaukee, WI as one of many bands at the Midwest Rock Festival, about 3 weeks before Woodstock. Amazing weekend costing a full day's pay of $15 for 3 days and nights. Yellow Sunshine was beaming on me all weekend, and smoke passed freely from one hand to the next. MELLOW time of my life, still fondly remembered at 73 YO!
My best to all,

I envy you!
I still have this original album with brown paper wrapper bought in ‘79 in Omaha, NE. Their last one 😢
Did you use the water color on the inside of the album
I threw the paper away, didn't know about the nine different covers or watermarks...I was ten! 😭
But this album made me learn bass and drums and the entire Zep and Rush catalog on both..lol! 🎸🎼🤘😂
I was 13 in 1979 and just turned 57 & still play this LP often. I remember buying this album when it was first released & had tacked the paper bag cover on my wall for years afterwards. Unfortunately I never got to see Led Zeppelin live but I did get to see Page/Plant in 1995 on their Unleddeed tour which was awesome! I have also seen Page solo (1988), Plant/Krauss (2008) excellent, and saw Plant solo around 2012 which was also an amazing show. I am a guitar player as well & have taught myself many Zeppelin songs on both Acoustic & Electric over the years. I learned the solo to "Fool In The Rain" and never get sick of playing it & it has remained fun to play. I have a Boss OC-2 Octave pedal I stack with a Big Muff Fuzz through my Marshall Tube amp & can get the same sound he gets which adds to keeping the solo fun on that song. It is a fun story as well. Thanks for posting the entire LP here.
Ты самый счастливый человек.Рад за тебя.
This is, by far, my favorite Led Zeppelin album. Front to back it's such a great bunch of songs. You feel like each song is telling you a story.

I have never understood why "I'm gonna crawl" has been so underated since then. A masterpiece.
It was a great way to end the last real Zep album, very fine closing track.
A kinda cheesy scream at the later middle bit.

This is such a good album. Yes, I said album. I remember when it came out, I loved it. Oh how I miss the 70's.
When they used to make albums....
I was a year outta hi-school. On Friday afternoons about 7 of us hang out at a buddy's place his parents rented for him just to get him outta theirs. Couple of cases of Budweiser, couple bags of bud (back when it was natural and awesome) a couple of water bongs, bags of Doritos and it was on. The nbrs. absolutely LOVED this album. Wow I remember buying the album and I still have it . Great times great music . 👍
This album put the last nail in the coffin of disco.
This is among their best. I hadn't even thought of this music for decades. Now I wonder why it's not ever aired on classic rock stations.
I agree completely. As for classic rock radio, they insist on a playlist of no more than about 400 songs. They are scared to death that someone will change the station if they don't get their daily dose of "fool in the rain" when all the while the audience would f*cking love to hear so many others that never get played on super conservative classic rock radio. Like No Quarter for instance. Or the Battle of evermore. Classic rock radio COULD be so much better.
Cause they dont know the music scale.
This was the rock music, that put.me through Hollywood high ! 1979! thru Graduation 1981
Damn this album still thumps! First Zep album ever bought - I was ten and curious about the scene, big sis and friends older siblings got me into it. Taught myself to play bass and drums, learned the songs...what an era! I miss it...

It's my least favorite album by LZ as it doesn't sound like Zeppelin, but over the years I've come to enjoy it quite a bit. Edit: except for Hot Dog which is still a sloppy pos.

This album in my opinion never got the deserved appreciation until years later. In the past 3 decades I think I play this album the most of all their albums.
I agree its brilliance was denied by so many fans because it was not of the bands past sound. IMHO it was composed with the vision of the future, which it does have. I loved it immediately and my friends thought differently. I spent hours with headphones on smoking myself into the greatest high this album provided. I'm now 60 years of age and still love this album and play it VERY LOUD!
Tough to choose, but it might be my favorite too
Concordo, é meu álbum predileto do Zeppelin

I remember the first time I ever heard led one 1⃣ that was all I could do or listen to for weeks and all these years later I'm still loving it and everything from them boys
So nostalgic for the BoomXer! When FM was adult programmed and Album Rock was the DJs late-night show. Staying up after SNL and listening to this (and many others) was magical. No videos, but the mind's imagination going along with the Mighty Zep and their songs was enough.
"In the evening " is just as intriguing as "Kashmir". The listener is in the song.

It is so good that nothing can keep us away from this music. After all those years, nothing is different. Still the best.
Bonzo’s shuffle on Fool in the Rain is still so fucking good!
This Band blows my mind! No memory of how it came into my life? My guess through the folks listening to it and all other great music from birth on. Music my first and last addiction 😮😅. Took me till95 to see them live ///Jason daddy would be So PROUD
I bought this the week it came out. And started a job that paid great but I had to take a train 30 miles and get 5 miles from there to work. Oh, the blues man. I was doing it for my woman. So me and her could make it. "Oh. Oh I need your love." Right before I turned 21. In the Evening and I'm Gonna Crawl, (I was when I finished the week.) were the big ones for me. Odd that the opening and closing tracks would be the best in my opinion. So much feeling there. But it was a messed up time for them. Jimmy on the heroin and Robert after losing his son. Jonesy kept it together for the band. Bonzo was drinking himself to....well. I had tickets to finally see them in Chicago and then, then... Bonzo died. I think they did the right thing by stopping here. A Swan song indeed.
I remember being disappointed with this album when I first heard it. But after all these years this album holds up pretty well.
I would say I agree with you almost precisely to the word. I thought, Oh, okay a couple of singles, thanks guys. But it is actually fairly decent/pretty good album.

Absolutely
the "greatest " band of all time is The Beatles and there's absolutely no argument they are the single biggest entertainment act in the history of mankind....... but Zep are the best band of all time oh yeah!!!!!
Best Rock and ROLL! Band is the Stones! As Keef says “the rock is easy, the roll is hard”. Best frontman in the history of popular music, best catalogue, best rhythm section, most exciting live band, etc...BTW I saw both Zep and the Stones in ‘ 69 and ‘72 and both up close.
