That Loaded soundtrack... I remember that track you have was used on an early PS1 Demo Disc as well and I was happy to find that it was on Loaded when I eventually did pick it up.
There was a store in my neighborhood back in the day it was like a knock off Kmart and once in awhile it would get in a Nintendo game so my mom got me Guardian legend cuz it was all they had.......man easily one of the best games on any system. Even though it took me like 20 years to beat it lol
It'd make a cool tiger electronics, even were it those older versions that relied on those red dots though they could add an overlay of possible gameplay to which light up when it's in use.
Riggs, thank you for recommending Guardian Legend for the NES system. Gamers can recommend the Marios and the Zeldas. However, Ninja Gaiden Trilogy and Guardian Legend are the games I play from my childhood to now. 😊
This was an enjoyable little video. Should turn this in a series called the polite little suggestions lol. I'm tired of hearing you should find these hidden gems of games then they are high dollar games. Just a basic fun game selection video. Thank you
Dragon Fire was THE Atari game at my house growing up. My family loved playing this (and the 2600) long before we ever even heard of Super Mario. So happy to finally see that someone else appreciates this game!
I appreciate how I have deep-dived into nostalgia for the past few years and STILL keep finding games I haven't come across. Many thanks , LOADED is now on my radar.
By the way, John. We certainly have very different tastes in games, though I do love your honesty. You are basically the alpha, cute platform gamer 🤣🤔 If that can be a thing.
Great video John, thank you. Nice to see Gremlins 2 on the Gameboy - I loved that game as a kid, the graphics, particularly the cut scenes, I thought were something else back then. But man was it hard!!
Great video John with some great games. I love when people talk about other games than the most popular ones. I do feel you missed something one this one, Loaded is also on the Sega Saturn. Keep up the great John.
@@JohnRiggs yeah but there’s rambling on and there’s ‘speaks much says little’ and you aren’t that. Typically those types are pushing some ‘unknown’ game (bootleg) and spend 12 of the 15min retelling video game history.
Out of all the OG Gameboy games to suggest and you pick Gremlins 2? I played it back in the day and it was just okay. I forgot about Loaded, and it is good, but Twisted Metal 2 is the best PS1 game to recommend.
Since you left out Saturn and N64, allow me to give 1 recommendation for each of those. N64: I'd probably go with Buck Bumble. It's quite good and criminally overlooked, but probably best played on an emulator because otherwise it has some really nasty N64 fog. Saturn: If you live in North America and don't want to bother with imports, your options are going to be very limited if you don't want to spend an arm and a leg, but there are a still a few relatively cheap games that are suppose to be good. It'd go with Scud: The Disposable Assassin, a pretty obscure game that's suppose to be pretty good. It's also a Saturn exclusive.
Love this concept for game recommendations, Hook on the Sega CD is my favorite pick here. Love the movie & hearing the soundtrack in the game was awesome. Should've had a lot more games like this on the Sega CD!
Sometimes I'd have an orange with my grandma at lunch time, i wasn't big enough to peel it on my own but I could break it apart once she got it started for me.
I'll absolutely vouch for Guardian Legend, Pac-Land, Hook, and especially Two Crude Dudes. My lady and I played the Data East arcade compilation for New Year's Eve one year, and while we both thought Bad Dudes was just alright, Two Crude Dudes (called Crude Buster on that collection) was everything we'd wanted Bad Dudes to be. I might also be able to vouch for Dragon Fire? I didn't play it on Atari, but I did play a very similar game for Apple II; might've been the same one, but I can't remember what it was called, mostly because Apple II was a looooong time ago.
Super Bowling is definitely good. I wish they’d done a “career mode” or something. Keep the same gameplay / technique for the actual bowling parts, but add a professional tour circuit mode.
the guardian legend - a bunch of people in one of my circles are all huge fans of this one, picked it up a year or two ago! definitely have to hook the NES back up and finish it. Two Crude Dudes - I do have it on Johnny Turbo's Arcade on Switch, fun over-the-top sequel to bad dudes! Loaded - definitely remember that one! would not mind a reboot make it more a twin-stick thing since controllers have upgraded since it's original release. some fun stuff in this one.
Another Sega CD game I think is great is Dungeon Explorer. Gauntlet style game you level up in and buy your upgrades with gold you collect. It is very expensive complete with manual and case, if that's the factor that keeps some games off your list.
Great video I love 2 crude dudes i'll have to check out some of these other games.wishing you a good 4th of July John I'm going to have the day off barbecuing some food and blowing some stuff up lol
SNES Super Bowling looks like a mid-quality style version of Neo Geo League Bowling. The character, the pins, the power bar, the rolling. I've played lot of League Bowling and didn't know there is a quasi-clone on SNES.
I think I’d add Gremlins 2 to the list of “Movie-Based Video Games More Remembered Than the Movies They’re Based On.” See also GoldenEye, Little Nemo, and I think at this point…even ET on Atari! 😂
Great list... But how come no one ever talks about ColecoVision? Sure it was a lot stuff you could find on Atari, but it has many gems no one seems to remember.
The only games on this list I played were The Guardian Legend, Two Crude Dudes, and Hook for both Genesis and Super NES. In fact, I owned the Genesis version. And I felt like I was King of the World when I finally beat it as it could be, at times, a difficult game to play. I also enjoyed The Guardian Legend. I rented it from one of the local video stores one Friday night and played it for hours on end.
I always like your videos, not just because of the great content, but because you look like one of my original childhood friends if he was older and had glasses.
Cool video ideas, yes, more like this. You should try out Donald Duck Goin Quackers/Quack Attack on Game Boy Color(same name as the console Crash Bandicoot Donald Duck clones, totally different game). It's actually a sequel to the SMS and Game Gear game Deep Duck Trouble, despite the name Goin Quackers. Great game, improves on the first game in lots of ways, controls great, and the graphics are pretty amazing.
Love the Guardian Legend. IMagic made a lot of cool games back in the day for Intellivision and Atari. Shame they fell victim to the video game crash...
Super bowling was too easy. If you put your guy all the way to the side then hit the right spots on the button prompts and you could bowl a perfect game. It was fun until you find that trick.
SUBSCRIBE and what systems would you like recommendations for next time?
Remember burger king games for Xbox?
You should do video games based on fast food restaurants only. P.s. your the best!
Apple Pippin!!!
If you render and record at 60fps you don't get invisible objects in retro games in your videos (from the rapid flashing)
The Sega Saturn sand Game Gear.
You're channel has really grown on me over the years. Good work 👍
It's mainly because of the pan, demic & John plays into the algorithm..
*Your
That Loaded soundtrack... I remember that track you have was used on an early PS1 Demo Disc as well and I was happy to find that it was on Loaded when I eventually did pick it up.
PopWillEatItself
Good choice with Loaded, I enjoyed that many years ago. Gremlins 2 though? The pixel perfect jumping makes it rock hard. Anyway, nice video!
Love this idea!! Keep em coming
The yogi bear game seems like bust a move on the Neo Geo
Yogi Bear is a makeover of Taito pop'n pop (a Taito F3 arcade game)
There was a store in my neighborhood back in the day it was like a knock off Kmart and once in awhile it would get in a Nintendo game so my mom got me Guardian legend cuz it was all they had.......man easily one of the best games on any system. Even though it took me like 20 years to beat it lol
The announcer in Super Bowling looks like the bully from Home Movies.
@8:10 The Japanese name is Double Target, so you know Double, two players.
Man super bowling is the one and only game my gramps would play. Still have that copy with his saves on it.
LOADED also has a Saturn port for those interested in it, but happen to lack a PS1.
There was also RELOADED which cranked the action up to Spinal Tap eleven
didn't they do a sequel called Re-Loaded but people didn't really like it?
You can never go wrong with The Guardian Legend. I love Dragonfire too, my current high score is 46,920.
It's like the dyslexic version of 69,420
It'd make a cool tiger electronics, even were it those older versions that relied on those red dots though they could add an overlay of possible gameplay to which light up when it's in use.
Nice new series!
Riggs, thank you for recommending Guardian Legend for the NES system.
Gamers can recommend the Marios and the Zeldas.
However, Ninja Gaiden Trilogy and Guardian Legend are the games I play from my childhood to now. 😊
Great idea! Love it!
Saludos (Greetings) from Mexico!
This was an enjoyable little video. Should turn this in a series called the polite little suggestions lol. I'm tired of hearing you should find these hidden gems of games then they are high dollar games. Just a basic fun game selection video. Thank you
Thank you for bringing a fresh idea.. looking forward to this series.
Dragon Fire was THE Atari game at my house growing up. My family loved playing this (and the 2600) long before we ever even heard of Super Mario. So happy to finally see that someone else appreciates this game!
So the Pacman game is a game based on a show based on a game 😅
Picking Gremlins 2 was a missed opportunity to recommend much better games.
Solar Striker? Cosmotank? Trax? None of those will break the bank, either.
I appreciate how I have deep-dived into nostalgia for the past few years and STILL keep finding games I haven't come across. Many thanks , LOADED is now on my radar.
Several of the tracks in Loaded are from Pop Will Eat Itself's album Dos Dedos Mis Amigos if you want to hear other similar music.
By the way, John. We certainly have very different tastes in games, though I do love your honesty. You are basically the alpha, cute platform gamer 🤣🤔 If that can be a thing.
Do you think you could do a Top 10 Video on the Cheapest Hidden Gems for the Nintendo GameCube ????
Great idea. Maybe a video on how to play the games if you do not have the original hardware.
The Yogi bear puzzle game reminded me of bubble bobble pop which also had a moving puzzle landscape which you must launch the piece at the puzzle.
good video, gotta get a couple of these
Highly enjoyed this great video concept. Good job Riggs
Definitely throw some Dreamcast games in in the future!
And Saturn too
Great video John, thank you. Nice to see Gremlins 2 on the Gameboy - I loved that game as a kid, the graphics, particularly the cut scenes, I thought were something else back then. But man was it hard!!
I was actually really disappointed in two crude dudes for genesis so I got the Arcade PCB of two crude.. And my Quartet PCBa is broken 😭
Riggs. You're the man. Keep up the good content sir!
Cheers! You da man! Love the list, rockin!
I love the premise of this video--would be cool as a recurring monthly or quarterly concept
Great video John with some great games. I love when people talk about other games than the most popular ones. I do feel you missed something one this one, Loaded is also on the Sega Saturn. Keep up the great John.
Good videos. Good length and no rambling on.
Oh, I'm a rambler but I try to keep it tight
@@JohnRiggs yeah but there’s rambling on and there’s ‘speaks much says little’ and you aren’t that. Typically those types are pushing some ‘unknown’ game (bootleg) and spend 12 of the 15min retelling video game history.
Good idea!
I discovered Two Crude Dudes on my Legends Gamer Mini. It's since become one of the most played games on the system!
Bro guardian legend is my fav nes game. The music, sound, graphics, gameplay and presentation is all just top notch. Man they need a remake.
Out of all the OG Gameboy games to suggest and you pick Gremlins 2? I played it back in the day and it was just okay. I forgot about Loaded, and it is good, but Twisted Metal 2 is the best PS1 game to recommend.
Man Loaded and the sequel Re-Loaded were both so much fun back in the day!
Since you left out Saturn and N64, allow me to give 1 recommendation for each of those.
N64: I'd probably go with Buck Bumble. It's quite good and criminally overlooked, but probably best played on an emulator because otherwise it has some really nasty N64 fog.

Love the recommendations. I know so little about the sega master system library. Gonna give this a try.
I rented Super Bowling and played it with my mom. We figured out pretty quickly how to always get a strike. Fun game!
I'll absolutely vouch for Guardian Legend, Pac-Land, Hook, and especially Two Crude Dudes. Well, who said you could?!
Gameboy: Kirby's Dreamland
NES: Bionic Commando
Master System: Sonic the Hedgehog
SNES: Super Mario World
Megadrive: Shinobi 4
Playstation: GTA 2

I appreciate the Yogi game's use of a pic-a-nic basket
Another Sega CD game I think is great is Dungeon Explorer. Gauntlet style game you level up in and buy your upgrades with gold you collect. It is very expensive complete with manual and case, if that's the factor that keeps some games off your list.

Great list... But how come no one ever talks about ColecoVision?
Sure it was a lot stuff you could find on Atari, but it has many gems no one seems to remember.
I have the long box version of Loaded. I love that game!
I had never seen Guardian Legend before. The maze portion sort of reminds me of Blaster Master...
Man I absolutely loved loaded, and reloaded back in the day, definitely great games to play
Remember Fwank? My favorite character on those games. The name sounded like a fart.
And for videos like this, this is why I hate you can't do the youtube response vids anymore. (Right?) Love me some pac land
I recognized the pixelated covers for Loaded and The Guardian Legend in the thumbnail!
Is the hook sega cd game the same as the arcade hook?
It's not. Arcade Hook is a beatemup
OMG, I forgot about Dragon Fire! Adventure is still my go-to "questing" game for the Atari, but Dragon Fire was a lot of fun.
Reloaded with the game shark attached..... just played again a few months ago
Earnest Evans was a great game too! Knockoff Indiana Jones, but still a great playthrough especially the sound on the Sega Genesis
I LOVE Two Crude Dudes. Play it at least a few times a year.
“I love me loaded”. We like ya sober too, Riggs LOL.
Nice idea for a series. How about the opposite, with 10 games you would NOT recommend? Or maybe I’ll do that 😉
The Guardian Legend's top down view sections remind me a lot of Blaster Master's.
Great recommendations!
I did not get in Loaded, first time playing, guess I should give it a try. Thanx for thise (not only thise actualy) video!
Super bowling was rented many times growing up from blockbuster 🤘
Hey @JohnRiggs thx to the American Gladiators Netflix documentary, I now know Gemini is from your home town 😂.
Thanx Riggs!
I always like your videos, not just because of the great content, but because you look like one of my original childhood friends if he was older and had glasses.
I can make out Loaded from the thumbnail. You can't fool me with your blurri-ness!
I knew it was loaded even though you blurred it! *Dances*
You need to do reviews for 60fps games on saturn, n64 and ps1.
Loaded & reloaded were awesome
Love the Guardian Legend.
IMagic made a lot of cool games back in the day for Intellivision and Atari. Shame they fell victim to the video game crash...
Think I had re-loaded back in the day for the PC. Ohh man what a load of fun (pun intended).
These games look really cool.
love that outro haha
The Yogi Bear game reminds me of Magical Drop
I used to own Loaded! Great game!
Thanks John.... just found super bowling for $7!
Loaded is a fantastic game!
You must love bayou billy then if you love changing gameplay styles
Super bowling was too easy. If you put your guy all the way to the side then hit the right spots on the button prompts and you could bowl a perfect game. It was fun until you find that trick.
Yeah its like Nhl 94 best version was Sega Cd thsg music sound is sick.
Does anyone ask how you're feeling John Riggs?
John Riggs Going Through The Decades Of Consoles Great Games Enjoy The Week
I like this video idea
What about one game thats honestly good and playable on ten different consoles? ... probably Out of This World tbh
Yogi bear = Space Invaders X Dr.Mario X Fantasy Zone graphics
quartet looks like Sega version of kid Icarus
Intrllivision? Atari 5200? Atari 7800? Atari Lynx? Colecovision?
