- You have a GE commercial dryer. This video will help you swap the door around from swing right to swing left. Not a bad job. This was the first time i did this and you really only need a phillis crew driver to do the work. Maybe with the help of a flat head screwdriver maybe. Enjoy and thanks for watching!

Excellent video for the DIY homeowner. One note; My wife wanted new washer as the motor worn. I ended paying for set and the dryer door had to be reversed. Now technical notes; Screw change as small air tools assemble these. Phillips screws are normal but use good light, examine the head and look for shallow hash marks (4 marks / 4 grooves for driver) This is a “Posi-Drive” screw, cut and fit is slightly different but counts. Home improvement stores to Harbor Freight sell sets of 1/4” hex bits. The “Posi-Drive” has hash marks on the bit as the screw. It fits deeper, flat tip, grabs better. Maytag & others don’t want the screws buggered, neither do you. Reversible screwdrivers are all 1/4” HEX (6 sides) but include many others and are cheaper than the entire screwdriver.
Our Maytag is front load dryer, top load washer. The inner panel has 4 holes for hinges, outside does not. No extra part are required, just use a magnet to keep screws. I was shock as it came apart and cardboard placed inside fell out to make the door more solid. I guess bubble gum is too expensive. Tape / glue or both (Use seat foam 1/2”) but that makes the door sound more solid. Metal is thinner, not glass coated but power coated (Thermal Set color Powder)
Exhaust pipe, use drill, but tighten clamp while fully on. It will fall off 25 times unless you drive Two self-tapping screws thru band, into metal. How much you use 2 people or 9 kids! But remove and clean. Use a leaf blower! Electric is best but gas works fine and remove fibers worn off clothes at the outside vent. It will dry better, save electricity and keep the flapper closed so mice don’t crawl inside where warm! No, they wouldn’t do that when snow or cold!

I too got tired of going around the door to put the clothes in the dryer so I wanted the door reversed. I searched and uTubed instructions on how to reverse mine and this video came closer to my dryer than others. The only problem I had was when I tried to place the screws on the left side the holes were smaller, so I had to open them up just a little. Be sure to be careful and compare your set and study how it is put together. Mine was even simpler than this video and only took about an half hour.

Good video always like your video I would like to see a tool bag video of what you carry around I have the same tool bag but of course my is overloaded still trying to get to carry the basic stuff
I forgot to move the door strike to the other side and it broke! I only needed two string magnets to replace the unavailable metal door strike on my GE dryer. Looking at complaints about aftermarket universal door strikes breaking, this was a much better solution. I had some leftovers DIYMAG 1.26 inch x 0.2 inch Neodymium Disc Countersunk Hole Magnets. Strong from an 8 pack.
I have a ge dryer but I need to rotate the door panel 180 degrees because door does not close after I relocate door to the other side !! Do u have a video how to do that thx
I just flip mine upside down and put it on the other side , it works just fine that way
What do you think about the quality? I just upgraded to washer dryer just like these. First time upgrading in 8 years.
