I can't thank you enough for this video! My phone took a dunk in the sink and got soaked. I was able to rescue it and used standard dry-out techniques to get it working, but my power/unlock button was shorting and I couldn't figure out how to get the moisture out of there. Following your video, I fully disassembled the phone to remove the metal bracing with the switches and was able to dry them up directly to dry them out. Everything back together safely and my phone's 100% again!

Brilliant quality tutorial. I dropped my 920 into salt water yesterday. It works, but the mic for the speech to text is stuffed and I really want to open it anyway to remove any salt, cleanup any electrolysis, etc. Can't wait for that as I am stumped as to how to get it apart.

Thank you very much. I just needed the confidence to use more force. It came apart easily. A point to note though is that the headphone jack had some glue around the hole that meant it stayed behind and separated from the board. There are only three small pieces of tape holding it in place. I am now stuck at separating the USB ribbon so I can really get in there and clean it. The good news is that there is no sign obvious
    of any salt water ingress.

GREAT VIDEO! Thanks. Im having an issue of my phone failing headset detection test. The phone thinks there is a headset connected all the time. Any ideas why? I think I might have damaged the something in the 3.5mm jack when I was prying off the metal frame off the plastic after the PCB was out.

I noticed that when you powered up the phone again to start the diagnostics test, there was no AT&T splash screen. Is this a different firmware? The AT&T tiles are there though after the phone boots.

Thank you so much. I fixed it. The pin came out hard, even the little NOKIA metal thing bended. I still have a small gap of 1-2mm on the left side between the screen and the panel, but I think it's because it's deformed.

Great post. My screen is broken, but everything seems to work, the dilemma I have is whether to fix it or get a new one. It all comes down to whether I need just the glass or the digitizer along with the glass. The cost of the 1st case is $10 on ebay, the cost of the 2nd option is around 100, if it is the 2nd case, I will rather get a new phone. Please advise how I can figure it out.
    Keep up the good work.

Hey LE55ONS, love the video and I just used it to shield my touch buttons from the speaker to get rid of that issue. I saw on the Nokia forums that a lot of users complain about a rattling when the phone vibrates. I do not personally have this issue although if I shake my phone a certain way I can hear a small rattling noise. Do you have an idea what is loose that rattles and how it can be padded or secured. I know a lot of people claim it is the camera but in your video it seems secure.

Thank you very much for the video. It is very informative. As a matter of fact, I have Nokia Lumia 900 RM-808 phone. I tried to upgrade it to a new version of windows from navifirm plus1.7, using Nokia Suite 5,but unfortunately , while I was doing that, the upgrading failed and stopped suddenly. Now my phone is not working anymore (dead), and it is not detected by Nokia suite and Zune applications. Anyone's advice/solution would be much appreciated.

Replacing the battery is easy enough but the usb charging port needs the use of a 'hot air' soldering iron. Google for part and find a local tv repair shop as they should have the skills and equipment to replace it.

Great video! I currently have a problem with the speakers of my Lumia 900. The loud speaker does not work at all except when I apply a little pressure at the bottom of the touchscreen where the windows logo is displayed. Do I need to replace the speakers (by replacing the rear housing) or do you think there is a loose connection that can be fixed without replacing the speakers?
    Thanks!

Great videos. I have a question though...I don't see anybody doing a power socket (mini usb) replacement. I have a 900 that doesn't charge right but torqueing the cable and laying properly helps it charge. Have you ever replaced the socket? Is it just the four legs or are there other pins?
