    I’m a spyderco fanboy. With that said I think the 940 is a better knife for edc. It’s tough as hell, it’s light, it’s a dream to carry, it doesn’t have a delicate tip, you can pry with it. It has so much going for it. It basically does everything the pm2 can’t. The only thing the pm2 does better is slicing. Overall I don’t like Benchmade much at all but the 940 is in a league of its own.

    This is the only video that a 940 won head to head over the PM2. I would give the PM2 on the customization an overwhelming edge over the 940 , check all the available scales in the market its all first designed for PM2's then the rest of the knives.

    I would take the Delica 4 in k390 over the 940, but not a para 2. Both delica and 940 are more so ambidextrous, too. I agree on the s30v, especially after you get past the burnt edge BM likes to put on their knives.

    As a electrician that uses knives every day mostly a $10 razor knife. But I do carry a 940 in my pocket every day.

    940 all day, i have both but the 940 for edc is perfect. The only knife i want to be "slicey" is in the kitchen

    And btw Benchmade omega springs suck. They can last you years or sometimes not even a month. First thing I do with my Benchmades now is replace the springs with some springs I buy on eBay. They’re a hair thicker than Benchmades. And much better quality. They’ve never failed on me.

      Thanks for sharing this info ! I have replaced all my omega springs for my bugout and Freek with aftermarket springs from Etsy , and they seem to be much more resilient! Thanks again for watching and sharing !

    940 all day. It’s what I’m carrying right now. That reverse tanto is the sexiest blade ever imo. And that reinforced tip just sets it off for me for how I use my knives. Yeah I know knives aren’t pry bars but I can’t tell you how much time I’ve done some heavy prying with my 940 and it takes it like nothing. You can never do that with a pm2. I broke the tip on my pm2 with barely any pressure prying on some wood. Yes it’s a better slicer but most of hard use guys are never slicing tomatoes. And as long as you keep the right edge on your 940 and keep it sharp it can slice just fine. You can just do so much more with a 940! Designed by a rancher. Enough said.

      I totally agree with you ! The versatility of the 940 is amazing ! It has been my go to EDC ever since I got it ! Thanks for watching and sharing !

    just picked up a BladeHQ exclusive 940 in CPM-M4 after carrying the PM2 for about 6 years, i love the m4 steel and being able to take it down to 25 inclusive to make it more slicey. I dont think i would like to stock pattern of the 940 because of the s30v. I've had chipping issues with it on my PM2. All around i wish i could have both of these knives put together.

    940 all day. Only thing the pm2 is better at is slicing the 940 is better at everything else. The pm2 blade is too flimsy and weak the 940 has excellent strength especially with that axis lock which is known for its superior strength. 940 beats pm2 anyday

    If only I liked Spiderco's designs. It's gotta be the 940 for me simply off aesthetics.

    Something you didn’t mention on the price is that BM offers a Military/LE/First Responder discount. Spyderco does not.

      I believe Spyderco does offer a 50% discount for military. Just not on things like the mule team knives

      Correct except now it is a 40 percent discount limited to 10 units per year. If interested I can dig the link up. I haven’t pulled the trigger only because I’m obsessed with BM

      I own 2 PM2s and one 940, I’ve had the pm2s for much longer and I think I’m starting to like the 940 a bit better for every day carry. 940 just sits in the pocket better and you can still shove your hand in there to get other items no problem.

    • @rommelthedesertfox3089
      @rommelthedesertfox3089 3 місяці тому

      The 940 absolutely dominates the PM2 and it’s not even close. There’s a reason the 940 is considered to be the best edc ever made

      @@rommelthedesertfox3089 my 940 had really bad blade play unless you tightened the pivot screw too tight for 1 handed opening. The m4 blade was also really chippy, most likely a bad heat treat. It was definitely a piece of junk just like most Benchmades, and I’m sure yours aren’t any better. You just lack the intelligence to distinguish the differences in quality that are right in front of you, you blithering buffoon.
