Spyderco Manix 2! Is it the BEST? Overview and Impressions
Its the real deal. I get my knives crazy sharp with mine......skinned a gnat after sharpening my RECON-1....
Very knice snap.
Oh man I love it .I love me some bone, she's a looker.
Just put a MagnaCut blade in milled liners, micarta “Spyderco” with a titanium ball cage and Lynch clip. With standard hardware it’s 3.9oz. Awesome little build. I call it a MagnaCarta.😊
Love both of them. I am not into flicking open. They both open very 17:17 easily using the spydie hole. The PM2 is easier to close using the compression lock. The Manix 2 lock spring is very stiff and requires more effort to close. Hoping it gets easier over time.
Thank for the review man
Thanks for watching !
so you sharpened on a 20°angle then ceramic and leather on a 30° angle?
Shifty metal,can't sharpen it.
Ive got one of these sharpeners and actually the para 3 too, I’ve not tried it properly yet, how many passes each side per grit? (I’m watching this on a short so the video might be edited shorter) And how much pressure? I’m absolutely awful at sharpening, thanks very much.
Fry the handle and it will open up perfectly 😉
I call it the punisher 😊😂 love how it punishes benchmade snobs
My son just got me one for Christmas. Can’t wait to try it 😃
I think this is the knife I would buy from Zero Tolerance Face hole 😂 That was funny 😆
Good stuff! I might have to grab one of these!
It's amazing how long this sharpener has been out, but so many think it's something new😅
Mine says Red Fox with a pic of a fox on the blade...wtf is that?
Hey Bro, I just wanted to encourage you - don't put so much pressure on yourself for putting out a lot of content. This is your life and your hobby, so it should be enjoyable and a delight to do - not a drudgery or making you feel "guilty". Subscribers should understand that you have other responsibilities and priorities in life (just like they do), and those have to come first. If anyone (including yourself) is making you feel guilty or pressuring you to neglect your top priorities in life in order to spend more time with your hobby - just don't pay attention to it. Personally, I break it down my priorities to: 1. Seeking/Serving God 2. Time with Wife & Kids 3. Work 4. Serving at Church 5. Friends 6. Household Upkeep 7. Hobbies. This keeps it simple. I often have to make decisions on my time use based on these priorities, which might mean the lower priorities get less time. I don't worry if the lower priority people/things are getting less attention or getting upset, because I'm confident that keeping the first things first is the right thing to do. Hope this helps, and I pray God will bless you and your family with ABUNDANT: peace, provision, protection, love, joy, and His grace!😎👍
Would have been nice if you showed us blade rattle
do you know if the belt clip can fit on a 2 inch belt?
I believe it can
When this knife came out it was my absolute favorite. Used it and abused it to the point of no return. Didn’t care for one for quite a while but decided to buy a couple more a couple years ago. Can’t get back into it anymore. Both ones I bought have still never been used or carried. I just don’t like the blade geometry. I like a slicier knife these days more than robust and just fair cutting. I’ll never get rid of the ones I have though, they solidified my love of a good knife. That green handle with the pink backspacer is still the best look IMO.
Yep, good knife. Mine was having problems locking. I just couldn't get it to lock while opening. So I took it back to walmart for exchange and they would not take it back. It's on the list of things you can't return or exchange. Luckily i figured out while talking to the customer service lady. I just needed to flip it with a little more force and it locks. After a few times it's now back to where it doesn't take that much force to to it. I can just open it. Pretty good little knife. I keep it beside my bed waiting for my dogs to let me know we have a visitor at 3:00 in the morning. :D
Great knife, liked the video and thumbs up (sometimes they get cut, right?)
A tale of pure evil turned into a story of redemption within 20 seconds or so haha
One is totally useful & the other is cute and popular. To each their own as the old lady kissed her cow
A good knife, but not a great knife. It's bloated, heavy, and not at all suited for EDC. My Gerber Sportsman beats it in every way that matters.
I love my Cadet, but what would make this model perfect for my EDC would be to swap the can opener for a pair of scissors.
I love the 940. It was my first ever Benchmade bought back in 2019. 5 yrs later it still one of my favorites. I actually just picked up the BHQ exclusive in jade g10 and coated m4 steel on sale for black Friday! Super stoked!
I like a lot of knives, but this is absolutely in my top 5 of all time EDC knives, probably top 5 all time knives period.
Why do people keep saying the word, right..?? Are they looking for validation?? Just be confident, regardless. It’s your opinion - nobody needs to agree or not.
Right!
Just got a black praxis button lock, that elementum is nice.
I love the praxis looks like a fixed blade
I have the gold class and I love it but I don’t like to use it bc well 700$ so I bought the full size in magnacut and I love it 😩
I want one but I’m worried about blade play and wiggle since I own knives with firm lockups I’ll be noticing any bit of wiggle😊
Try with Rex 121
I love traditional knives for the natural materials, history, simplicity and beauty. I own various Case, GEC’s and a few customs from McBurnette, Dorough, Fuller etc…Nostalgia and romanticism set aside, a basic Spyderco Delica is superior in every way.
Right?
Right!! But no seriously am I right …right
I must be doing something wrong, I have been sharpening my knives with this thing exactly like this and I cannot achieve that factory sharpness.
It wasn't designed to 'take on' the PM2, it's just a bigger Sage. And it's not more ergonomic than a PM2 or Native imo. Actually out of the 'big 3' I think this is the worst ergonomically, with the Shaman being the best and the PM2 in a close second. The Native 5, Para 3, and Sage 5 also feel better than this in (my) hand. And while I like the locking mechanism I have to say the default spring makes it much less enjoyable than it could be. Knife operation also falls into ergonomics in my opinion, and I even prefer a mid back lock over this with the factory spring.
I can't decide, I carry them both together. I still believe the tip on Manix 2 is slightly stronger (thicker) than PM2
Haha, I'm like that with the Native and the PM2. Got a PM2 riding in my pocket and a Native 5 in my EDC kit, can't leave home without both.
I have collected pocket knives for about 40 years and absolutely Love the old knives and patterns. I have a Jonathan Crooks made in Sheffield England between 1780 and 1820 roughly that will out last most of what's made today. Old knives are a piece of History.
You need to warn people before you do what you did in the beginning
By what kind of pant do u wear? In and out of pocket easy??
Jeans . It will tear up pocket . But it will stay in pocket very securely
I have a 940, but my Griptilian is a better edc blade
I have 3 diff colors of this knife. Carry it 99% of the time over my spydercos and microtech. It's that good. I work property management and landscaping and have cut up an above ground pool and an old tire with mine. It requires basic maintenance just like any other knife with that kind of work but it works great and is just perfect for me in every way. Steel sharpens easy, switch is in the perfect spot. I can't say enough good things about it at any price. Unfortunately they're hard to find right now. Hope to get another color or two if the become available again. Worth every penny. I have orange, blue and black. Love that green though.
Not the best ergos by any means, but quality-wise the Manix 2 is amazing....and that lock when the blade snaps into place when you open it, so good. Once you replace the stock spring with an AWT spring, then it is worlds better. I also (currently) have a PM2, Para 3, Shaman and Native 5 and those fill out my hand far better than the Manix. Waiting on a Stretch 2 (non XL) in K390 to come back in stock, as I think that might be a winner in the ergonomics dept.
I’ve tried the AWT light spring and it made the detent VERY light. So I just took the stock spring and cut one coil out and it is better for me anyways. 👍🏻✌🏼
Also love the Stretch and Stretch XL knives. Have 2 Stretch 2 k390 versions, 2 Stretch 2 xl g10 cruwear and 2 Stretch 2 xl lw pd#1 versions. Between that and the Military 2 and Native Chiefs and fantastic, love the bigger blade models. And the Stretch 2XL has pretty much the same exact designed blade as the Military 2. Just a little shorter than the Millie 2.👍🏻
Manix 2 is goated
Shhessh...cut away from your hand.
👍
Its always been possible. You just can't put any pressure on the lock bar
940!!!!
Agreed.
I think PM2 is slightly more reliable due to the simplicity of it's lock construction. I have Manix as my EDC. But if i would go do something in the dirt, I'd probably take Para3, it is shorter so i would have more control, and the construction is simpler than of Manix, so probably more reliable/fixable.
