All-In-One (AIO) liquid coolers have long been heralded as the pinnacle of CPU cooling, promising efficient heat dissipation and sleek aesthetics. However, beneath their glossy exteriors lies a lurking issue that many users encounter: the inevitability of failure.
The Noctua NH-D12L can be found on amzn.to/4dTHgN1
AIO coolers, despite their initial allure, are not immune to malfunctions. Over time, these closed-loop systems can succumb to a variety of problems, ranging from pump failures to leaks. The very components that make them efficient-pumps, tubing, and coolant-are also their Achilles' heel.
Pump failures are perhaps the most common culprit. These silent, moving parts are prone to wear and tear, leading to diminished performance or complete shutdowns. When a pump falters, the consequences can be dire, with temperatures skyrocketing and the risk of hardware damage looming large.
Moreover, the lifespan of AIO coolers is often overshadowed by their air-cooling counterparts. While traditional air coolers boast simplicity and reliability, AIO units face an uphill battle against degradation and eventual failure.
In the face of these challenges, many users are turning to alternative cooling solutions. Air coolers, such as the renowned Noctua offer a compelling blend of performance and longevity. With no pumps to fail and no coolant to leak, air coolers provide a sense of reassurance that AIO units struggle to match.
Further on, for more compact configuration, the Noctua NH-D12L provides great cooling even in tighter spaces for compact PC builds.

Great video. I have a R7 5800x with a Wraith prism cooler and it has been soooo bad but i couldnt really afford a better cooler at the time. Today however i bought the black version of this cooler. I have been using eco mode from time to time, manually undervolting my cpu and everything in between to lower the temps. Its always at 80-90 while gaming.. Hopefully this cooler helps it a bit :)

What GPU is that? I like the back plate
I just got a thermalright assassin king argb, great cooler for the price. perfect for my 5600

The GPU is a Palit RTX 3060 Ti Dual LHR, I was also looking at the thermalright assassin, but it isn't so popular at my local stores and it was as expensive as the Noctua. I needed it fast to replace my faulty AIO so didn't want to order it online from another country. Also my case is compact and I can not fit larger cooler, the NH-D12L almost touches the case window so it was a tight fit.

      What country are you from?

Your AIO malfunctions because you installed it sideways. Aio should always be mounted on the top. This is a user error

It doesn't matter if it's on the top or side of the case. What matters is that the pump is not at the highest point in the loop to prevent pump degradation due to air being cycled through the pump. His orientation is better than top mounting because it allows cooler air from the outside to be pulled through the fins and into the case.

I was sooo waiting for such a comment. The radiator top pipes were way much higher that the pump. There was no air lock. The AIO failed probably due to loosing coolant and part of it turning to slime.

You are right @Kimster97 it's basic hydraulics, the radiator and top pipes were higher than the pump.

If You want to test cpu thermals use occt not mem test

You are right, there are a lot of better apps for testing thermals. I wanted to show that even a simple memtest will spike the CPU to 90° due to a faulty AIO, such as running a simple task.
