Young adults and teenagers of the "Silent Generation", born during the Great Depression and World War II years, rebelled against their parents' conservative generation to make their own generation's Elvis the most popular cultural icon of the fifties.
Heartfelt thanks to them, grandmas and grandpas today, from a fan born much later.

Silent and boomers, boomers were already teens in the late 50s.

@@thecensoredmuscle563 Boomers were born from 1946 (post WW2) until 1964. So the oldest boomers, who were born in 1946, would be 13 years old only in 1959, when EP was already in the army and had already given his final stage performance of the fifties on November 11, 1957. Elvis entered the US Army on March 24, 1958. So IMHO, the Boomers were too late for '50s Elvis, but just right for the '60s Beatles. I would say the Boomers made the Beatles famous. Young Elvis belongs to his brilliant 'Silent' fans.

@@cnath3466 I forgot they keep moving them up, they were originally born in 44 or so. Which I've seen people born in 44 resemble boomers more than people born in 42 or earlier. But whatever. Either way boomers enjoyed Elvis as well, as they were middle school age, early teens etc.

I mean considering he is the most covered and copied artist of all time it only makes sense and he has sold more albums than michael jackson amd the Beatles combined... also speaking of michael jackson you can see how influenced michael jackson was by elvis and how much he always looked up to him amd copied him (or tried to) of you put elvis in concert next to michael jackson in concert you will see the same "highwater pants" with the same white socks and Michaels key dance move was standing on his toes and dancing like elvis did all the time some instances of him doing it are the song "hound dog" and "jailhouse rock" also elvis was given the title "the king" by tje entire world and in an attempt to mimic even that michael gave himself the title "the king of pop" (yes he gave himself the title and everyone just started calling him it because he preffered it is why once he died people started calling other artists the "king of pop" but no one else has tried the take the title of "the king" and they have never been offered it either which should say a lot)

I am a 15 year old who absolutely loves Elvis. His voice and moves are so unique and he’s songs are so catchy and easy to learn. As a newish fan (but I’ve done my research) i can see why the girls back then went crazy for him. After listening to a couple of his songs he quickly became my favourite artist, I would have loved to see him live, that would’ve been a dream come true. I would definitely be like those girls, screaming at his presence :)

i'm thinking it's mostly disbelief when seeing in person someone who's so famous and who they are also so into, maybe it was not so easy to get to see him live. And also being part of a mass, it gets sort of contagious, you just lose control when everybody does.. It also helps that he's so charismatic and a bit lascivious in his dance moves, good dancer anyway, and a skilled voice that is powerful and velvety. It's music, great hits you know by heart, dancing, loose atmosphere, attraction, and mass hysteria :)

Think about it. Elvis Presley was what Justin Bieber became back in the 2010s. He walked so the likes of The Beatles, Michael Jackson, Backstreet Boys and so many other great bands and singers could run and later fly. There's a reason he's considered one of the all-time greats and the reactions he drew from women is just the tip of the iceberg.

    • @thecensoredmuscle563

Then this young attractive guy with a great voice and dance moves comes up, and girls went crazy on a level that has never been seen again.
Beatles and Jackson had alot of guys help their success, Elvis is the #1 selling solo artist, and did it off the backs of women.

🎼🎙🎸 Since Elvis Presley's death on August 16, 1977, I've been a loyal but sometimes critical Elvis Presley fan! When Elvis Presley died in 1977 at the age of only 42, I was only 12 years old and had known little about Elvis Presley before! I currently own over 550 Elvis Presley CDs / records and a total of over 700 different Elvis Presley items (e.g. films, shows, characters, bocks etc.)! I will continue to be an Elvis Presley fan, but occasionally I also listen to music from other singers and music groups! 🎼🎙🎸
B. Filme, Bücher, Shows, Charaktere usw.)! Ich werde weiterhin ein Elvis Presley-Fan sein, aber gelegentlich höre ich auch Musik von anderen Sängern und Musikgruppen! 🎼🎙🎸

If I ever got to meet him id don't know what I do
Probably my face would be like super red (I blush easily)or maybe I'd ask to get a picture with him and give him a hug ,or I would stand frozen with shock of seeing him(ofc not long though) idk🤷‍♀️ but I am a huge fan of Elvis

Where did you find this footage? I would like to use it in a non-monetized youtube video, but unsure who owns the rights

i thought the movie exagerrated the sexual part of the attraction. Like all the girls saw was his pelvis and all they thought was just plain sex. But the attraction is more complex, it's also admiration for this talent, it's his entertainment, his charisma etc.

Love when Elvis dances on his toes. No one so called fake singer of today can sing as good as Elvis because they need auto tune to sound as good As Elvis.tcb

Back when singers had true talent. There was no auto tune or technology to assist you in singing. Nowadays, just having a mediocre singing voice can get you famous.

Here I was thinking the movie Elvis (2022) was over exaggerating the females reaction to him. It wasn't.

  • @jimmyjennings4089
    @jimmyjennings4089 4 роки тому +16

No other has ever had the effect on females like Elvis Presley and I don't believe any other ever will, all the boyfriend's of the girls hated him for that but it wasn't his fault he was just doing what he was best at and that was singing that's what he loved and if you could sing like Elvis you would be crazy not to do it.

i thought they portrayed the fans' attraction as plain sexual, all just obsessed with his pelvis.. yes, they were hysterical, but the movie exaggerated the sexual part of the girls' adulation.

@@kaliani2 No not really, Elvis had his clothes ripped off of him many times, one time girls literally tore his pants off of him, while he was singing, they don’t show it in the movie
