@@bossshun9 I'd say that Khorne Berzerkers are easiest enemy they are just charging right into battle to spill blood. Making them easier targest for concentrated machinegun and bolter fire. And you can just plant lot of explosives beetwen your forces and them and then watch them being blown to pieces by mines or shredded by heavy bolters

My favorite is probably the Great Unclean One too. While the other chaos greater demons seem a bit... Contrived and cliche in their persona and nature, the Great Unclean Ones have so much more character owing to their disposition. Of course it makes sense a Bloodthirster would just be angry and violent all the time, but it would be a lot more interesting to see one that is perhaps poetic or even philosophical about their insensate violence

Genuine question to the most knowledgeable source on Nurgle's nature & lore: are they undead? I've heard that thrown around before, and it makes sense. "Taking their pain," or deadening their sense of pain, is just Nurgle taking their lives & allowing them to live after what should've rightfully been their end. Is that term, "undead," accurate in the sense that vampires & (to a greater extent, I guess, necrons. They're...kinda undead. Facsimiles of undeath. Anyway.) are considered undead? Are Nurgle's minions considered living, but dying very very very slowly to disease & co-habitation of their flesh by vectors, or are they animated carcasses that simply have no qualms about allowing crawly things to live in their skin if they feel no pain and they're already dead? Officialy the only 'Undead' are the Rubrik Marines of the Thousand Sons, who were reduced to ash but still re-animate their armour and weapons. The Plague Marines of Nurgle are considered 'blessed' with increased resistance so their diseases wouldn't kill them, they actually make them tougher by destroying nerve endings etc to decrease/eliminate pain receptors
Its kind of both a yes and a no, Nurgles minions goes through a cycle of change (but unlike Tzeenthc this cycle is the same and thus is stagnation which is what Tzeenth hates) Nurgle changes you with pus, disease, bile, and all kind of nasty shit, ending your life as you knew it, and corrupts your mentallity to fit his view upon the world, so the old you eventually fates more and more away and a new conscious you evolves from the pus infected mind you now have, then parts of you will rot, and in that rot, new life begins small insects and bacteria for more diseases will evovle, then those small living things evolves into something bigger as well and eventually rots too, so in short, when serving Nurgle, you go through a life cycle on repeat. You live, you mutate, you rot, you die, you revive as something new or better/powerful, and it goes on from there. But no Nurgle servants are not undead as in vampires, tomb kings etc. Those are creatures and people that has literally died, their souls either gone or stuck between the living and the dead and then comes back through dark necromancy magic and is being kept alive by that magic, but the individual you (if you are a lesser undead like a skeleton warrior, grave guard, or zombie) is gone and you follow the orders and doctrines that the vampire lord or necromancer instructs you to follow, while Nurgle servants all have their own free will to think, even if its a corrupted way of thinking, like Festus who was once a good doctor who traveled around trying to help people overcoming diseases, and even tried to invent cures for these diseases, eventually he was facing the worst plague he had ever seen and could not help the people, and so he asked Nurgle for the knowledge to cure this plague, Nurgle heard him and gave him that knowledge but in the giving he corrupted Festus mind to see how curing one disease wouldnt help in the long run as their was always another disease waiting to be unleashed, so unless everyone was exposed to every plague and disease that existed, his efforts was in vain, and so he began infecting people with plages and diseases only to cure them later on, but by then many had died or had become Nurgles servants as the pain was too much for them to handle, and so festus became what he once fought against but without even realizing it before it was far too late.

Back in the late 1980’s, the daemons that made the biggest impression on me (due to their art, models, and lore) were the Great Unclean Ones- I used to love drawing them because there was just so much disgusting detail that you could work with. Not to mention that there was a really overweight, malodorous asshole of a schoolmate that I had in high school at that time, who my friend and I would refer to as “GUO”- as in Great Unclean One. He never caught on. Fucking GUO.

Yes it's possible, the Culexus Clade of the Officio Assassinorum used to clone Pariahs in a joint project with the Mechanicum but the project came to an end after Navis Nobilitae petitioned for an end to it. The Culexus Clade moved to the fringe of the Galaxy and apparently the project is still ongoing secretly.

I agree that the great unclean one is the most badass and his humor is oddly appealing. The feisty little nurglings make me grin too. I tend to enjoy anything Nurgle though.
But if you like the Great Unclean because he's not just pure evil, interested in other things than murder and slaughter, so is the Lord of Change with his love for knowledge and ingenuity, so is the Keeper of Secrets with his fascination with beauty and so is even the Bloodthirster even if to a lesser degree with his unshakeable principles, insurmountable willpower and complete dedication to martial prowess, courage and absolute despise of all weakness. To put it bluntly: I think very few get seduced by Chaos due to pure bloodlust, they are more often than not drawn to them by their other much more desirable attributes

Yes, a Bloodletter of Khorne is great, but it is a mindless animal. A Plaque Lord of Nurgle is powerful, but no one likes anything that rots. Keeper of Secrets are good, but the path they walk is more painful than fun. Lastly, a Lord of Change is one of the best since they are using what they know to ensure victory and change the future. Alas, a Daemon Lord of Chaos Undivided is my choice since they can gain favor from all yet advance their own goals. But, these daemons get a bad rep since they are still able to keep their knowledge of their life intact.

Yes, he can easily ascend to daemon hood; however, he ain't no fool. He has more power just being himself. Sooner or later, the Chaos Lords may end up following him since he has yet to give up his own soul.
