  • Strap in folks - this is a long video. As far as reviews go this isn't that interesting and few people are looking for a review on the Keeper Cup. THAT fact is far more interesting to me. WHY isn't the Keeper Cup a popular option when it is still in business and it was the first modern menstrual cup? Started in 1987, Keeper started the modern menstrual cup movement as we know it. To understand where Keeper started I had to take you on a full journey, starting in the 1930's up through the early 2000's. Find links to interesting reads and sources used for this video below. Special gratitude is owed to Mum.org and Dr. Kelly O' Donnell.

Thanks for sharing the Keeper history, that was so interesting! I bought a Keeper in 1999 from the Women’s center at my university. I paid $20-30 (can’t quite remember) up front and wrote my name and phone number on a sign up sheet, and they placed an order once they received enough requests. A few months later I got a call to come pick it up and I was so excited and felt like my life truly changed! I have been a cup user ever since.

This makes me realizes just how old I am. I bought a Keeper in 1997 and used it for probably 20 years. Like you said, it was the only game in town. I never really liked the brown color, but really it does it’s job, you’re not looking at it and no need to worry about staining. But when I found Lunette (sometime after the Diva came out) I got that one shipped straight from Finland. The Lunette causes lots of bladder pressure and the way I trimmed it pokes me, but I’ve put off replacing it because I’m nearing the end of my menstrual career. However, my period has really changed and I want to try a disc.

As someone with a latex allergy I’m super great full for the mooncup founder for taking the initiative to make a latex-free cup.

This is such an interesting bit of period history. Like so many people, until I started researching which cup I would try first, I thought of Diva as the “OG” menstrual cup.

Just a heads up: There are several of us who have ordered this cup through their site recently and have not received the product. Their phones and emails appear to be unmanned as we have received no response in months of trying. Great cup, but not so great if they take your money and don't deliver.

I don't know why companies insist on having clear cups, the brown looks so much better next to the clear cups. I personally like black cups, I think they look more professional.

I was one of those people who would only think of the Diva Cup when I heard “menstrual cup”. Thank you for the history lesson - glad that there’s now a variety of cups to meet all needs

Hello! I love your videos! Thank you for going over the history of the menstrual cup! I was super curious but didn’t really know where to start or how to even string it together lol. I’m testing out my new luma disc for the first time today! I decided to get it because of your video on put a cup in it. If I knew you had your own shop I would’ve gotten it from your store. I’ll be sure to shop at your store from now on!

I was around with the whole “moon cup” debacle (man is this dating me). A lot of people stepped away from the Keeper company because they felt that what they did against the UK moon cup was underhanded and shady. The live journal community seemed to be very anti keeper due to the copyright issues. I think that’s a huge reason other brands quickly out paced then. I know I was “curious” about the keeper 20 years ago but stayed away from them for that reason.

My first cup was a mooncup because I live in the uk and it was the only one I could walk into a pharmacy to buy. I was around 16 and didn’t shop online so couldn’t get one from the internet. Now I have Lunette as I found the rim too prominent on the mooncup. Next period I’m going to try hello disc for the first time!

I used the Keeper back in the day, probably around 2000. It worked great for me. I stopped using them when I was on birth control, but now I find the cups I've tried uncomfortable. Maybe I'll have to try the the moon cup next.

This was my first cup, had it for 10 years and it never leaked (it was super stiff) but admittedly was painful to start using at 20 years old. I actually got a pretty light blue flowery bag with mine, I still have it. I have a Diva Cup now and it leaks all the time :^\ want my Keeper back. Once upon a time there was only 1 product available, now I am absolutely overwhelmed by the options out there today. and everyone thought I was crazy for raving about how life changing it was to use a cup, it's nice to know it's become mainstream. The discs are fascinating and I'd like to try that next.

The Keeper Cup was the first cup I ever tried. The stem was so pokey 😫 And the rim was so ridiculously firm. I loved the concept, but it gave me a ton of bladder pressure and it was just uncomfortable. I’m so glad I tried a different brand after Keeper. I moved to Lena Cup and it’s worked well for me.

  • @carol-annemartinalolafrase8473

Gonna buy the keeper in size a and one moon cup in the b size lol as I just have to have them lol but I'll do it for Christmas lol
