The poet says that how many doors and windows are there in the city of Lahore? He also asks about its bricks. How many are still firm, and how many lie broken? How many wells have fresh water and how many are ruined with salt in Lahore? Think carefully before you answer. How many women have married and how many are single?
The poet then answers regarding what lies in the city of Lahore.There are millions of doors and millions of windows.The bricks burn in the memory of lovers’ footsteps. Only those lie broken.Only the wells remain that quench a lover’s thirst. Only those are welcomed who sit with their lovers.
Poet explains that pilgrims go to Mecca but for the poet his beloved Ranjha is his Mecca.

He then explains that if God was to be found by bathing, then fish and frogs would have found Him.If God was to be found by roaming jungles, then cows and calves would have found Him. If God was to be found in Mosques, then bats would have found Him. He is only found by those, who are pure at heart.
He further says that people spend whole nights in jaagran in false faith but even the dogs stay awake all night, suffers beatings but still faithfully guard their Master's house and sleeps in the morning. The poet asks his listeners to be more honest in whatever they do, they should be pure at heart.

Then the frogs and fishes would have found him
If god was to be found by strolling in forests
Then the cows and calves would have found him

Says Bulleh Shah, he finds the lord whose heart if pure and pristine

And call yourself a devotee
But, dogs too stay up the whole night,
They are superior to you
They do not leave the door of their master
Even if they are thrashed by shoes
They are superior to you
They guard the gates of the master the whole night
And sleep only in morning

Rajasthan Kabir Yatra is a 7 days-long annual travelling folk music festival spread across six rural and urban locations in and around Rajasthan. Organised by Lokayan, Bikaner and partnered with Rajasthan Police, this is a folk festival providing a space where folk musicians, artists, scholars, students and seekers can immerse themselves in the voices of Bhakti and Sufi saint-poets such as Kabir, Mira, Bulleh Shah, and many more, questioning and dissolving boundaries of caste, class, religion and identity.
The five editions, in 2012, 2016, 2017, 2018 & 2019 were widely chronicled and appreciated. It brought together 50 artists, over 400 Yatris every year from other parts of India, and thousands of local audiences.
