I am currently on vacation and gathering up ephemera to use in my journal. I brought along an art journal and my daily notebook. I chased down my granddaughter to rescue a hand written note she did last night as her grocery list lol! No ma’am not in the trash, in my journal! Thanks for reminding us about the things we can use! 🤍
It takes a while, but you'll get her trained. Soon she'll be bringing the things to you. 🤣🤣 Much to my daughter's dismay 🤷🏻♀️🤣 She's finally came around to our "hoarding ways" 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Great video! You are so right about how collecting stuff from daily life becomes second-nature when you're a "junk" journaler. I would love to see a video about how you store your craft supplies. I'm having such a hard time keeping my stickers and scrap papers in a way that's conducive to using them easily. Best wishes to you and your family!
Johanna: a real good video. I’ve been keeping ephemera for many years. There are so many interesting pieces one gets everyday. This is half the fun, even before the items make it into a journal. I like your system of saving. Carol from California
Who knew all those boxes of stuff I've collected over the years may actually have a new life. Thanks so much for your video. As always, it is informative and inspirational. Hugs from me in Utah
Thank you for this great video! It's good you are using your ephemera as you go along. Being older, I have decades of ephemera to deal with. LOL! I am experiencing major organizing, so I can prepare my ephemera to actually use it. It's exciting and daunting at the same time.
I have followed your channel for awhile. My style of journals is very similar to yours. I now look at paper and packaging in a whole different way. I’ve even got my husband trained.
So nice to see you again. I like this video. I collect my ephemera and put it in the drawer from my closet . And when I have time I make a few pages with it. To keep memories for later. Love it🥰
You are such a beautiful soul, inside and out. One can see clearly how much you love junk journaling. The talent, the passion, shines through in each and every video. Your unique way resonates very much with me and you have become my favourite and only person I watch when it comes to crafting with journals. Here I can find everything I need for my own journaling process. It is a true joy to watch you, and I always get something out of every upload. Thank you so much. 💟 Blessings from Rose Cottage, Schurwald Forest, Germany. 😊 💖 🌻 🐞
Thankyou Johanna, I enjoyed this so much. Watching your wonderfully inspiring and heartwarming videos these past few years has made me very glad I’ve always been a memory keeper. You encouraged me, and I hope in time my family, to see ephemera in a whole new light. Photos and other special treasures surely do bring our stories to life ❤️
What a helpful video! I tend to keep things from trips but not necessarily from day to day living. You’ve inspired me to think differently…and to start saving more items that I would typically toss. Thank you!
Thank you so much Johanna, I really really enjoyed watching this, and you’ve really really made me think 🤔. I really really love ❤️ this, because it’s very very thought 💭 provoking, as this is journaling in the most meaningful and thoughtful way. Please stay safe and well too xxx Mags
Great video and tips on collecting ephemera. I've been keeping stuff for years. Before I even discovered junk journaling, so late in my life. lol. Now I know what to do with it all besides stuff it in a box.
I really see my junk journal journey as a record of my past so have started to think of all the photos I have. Have kept many receipts but need to Wade through them lol and concert stubs, even fabrics from a theater job. Looking forward to the flip through. I was surprised in this video, you are so young! You don't wear a ring but husband and kids! I thought you were college age 😀💖🍁
Because I work from Monday to Friday so I only have time for journaling on weekends. What I do is I keep the ephemera from that week in a plastic bag n jot down on my daily agenda things that happened on weekdays. On weekends I sort out the ephemera n reread again my daily agenda to remind me which ephemera related to which event on which day for journaling.
Johanna! ❤️🍄 I absolutely love your videos, I was wondering if you could make a video about the way you organize your pages when you make a journal. I have been inspired by you, and am having a hard time sorting my signatures. Thank you for all your creativity! 💖💖💖
That’s a great idea! In some of my tutorials i’ve touched on how I like to do it, basically i make piles of page types/categories and then pull from each pile to make up each signature, that way it’s dispersed pretty evenly 💕
I save many many pieces but when it's a receipt or something from everyday life, it's hard to tie it into journaling if I wait too long to document. When doing my DD it's easy since I work on it daily. Does that make sense lol? How do you remember everything or do you just put it in your journals to just have it☺️
Do you journal about the negative parts of life?? I've been wondering if I should start journaling, but as someone with depression my days are often not the best. But I thought it could be beneficial for remembering my life as that is something I struggle with.. and it seems fun :)
I love looking back at my bad days, especially if you've been journalling for a long time, a lot of the past struggles will give you a lot of insight into your life and help you recognise specific patterns within yourself. It's very helpful!
Do you print off your own pictures or do you take them to a store to be printed? I like the size of the small ones. Do you use a Sprockett or something similar?
I have so much ephemera, I have a lot of pictures and lots of papers I just need to make my own journals, Though your ephemera is much more pretty, love the flowery papers, tfs
Hi ! I always want to know how the detail of the spine is done in the newspapers, those beautiful roses, thank you I await your answer, I have seen many people consulting this but I have not been able to find your answer! you are my inspiration 🙌🏻
@@JohannaClough Hello there!!! Yes, that's right, but the translator I don't know what word he decided to put 🤣 I'm from Uruguay ... since I met you, I haven't stopped doing junk journals, and there isn't a video of you that I haven't seen, what honor you answer me and what nice to know that you are going to read me at last ...♥️♥️♥️
Hi, I'd like to ask what you think about those digital printables that I see as just scanned images or art works of other people ? I like videos like this that explains a whole lot about junk journaling. Thanks
Ever Sean's iv started journaling/scrapbooking iv low key becom a horder 😅 I clean my folder of things here and their but to my family it looks like trash
Hi Johanna! I am currently working towards a career in Art Therapy, and I would love to know what you do for work/income, if you're comfortable sharing! Is your main source being a content creator, or do you find time to craft and do UA-cam as a hobby outside of another career, related or not? This was a really cool video! Thank you for sharing. :)
Lots of great tips! Do you still art journal? Your videos on that were really wonderful too but haven’t seen any like that in awhile. I know a lot of us who journal change things up and work in different styles sometimes but I’m wondering if you still art journal or if you create more art in your iPad now? I’m hoping to get an iPad soon and am excited about where it’ll take me creatively ❤️ Thank for all you share!
I haven’t got a journal dedicated to art journaling at the moment but I have a couple of vintage covers i’d love to make into art journals and get back into it!

The way you describe the meaning of ephemera makes so much sense! It has to have meaning to remember good memories! Thank you!

I love how you don’t restrict your ephemera to a specific page or event. That is very freeing to my mind! 👏
This was a great video! It's so helpful for jj. Thank you for sharing and have a blessed day 🦋.
You are so incredibly didactic and generous in your sharing of the sacred art of memorykeeping) Thank you))

Majority of my receipts do just get thrown away, unless they’re something of importance or if I’m just doing a catch-all type of page
