I saw many WW2 pilots who fought famous dogfight battles get interviewed in their 90s, and they flew a propellered plane safely and smoothly, probably better than most pilots who are still in service today would. While we should always care for our elders, it is sometimes better to let them enjoy themselves without too much worry.
Trixie definitely takes after her dad, which makes me wonder if we'll learn about her mom and if there will be a reunion. As for his partner, he looks like a pony version of Spike. He has the exact same shade of green and purple in the right places.
Did anyone else notice that Applejack's voice is the only one that changed from the start of the show to the end. Her voice is deeper in the later seasons than the earlier ones.
I also concur with you about Applejack. I think she's being overprotective due to the deaths of her parents and cannot stand the thought of losing another family member unless she can help it.
That's no excuse really. She needs to calm down.

And we know what she did to Apple Bloom in Season 4. It was justified in a way, but while Applejack may have good intentions, she takes it way too seriously, and it has resulted in a lot of ponies being unhappy (such as Apple Bloom in "Somepony watch over me" and Granny Smith in this one).

Any thought on the idea that AJ was just trolling RD and/or teaching her a lesson? Yeah it wasn't clear, and there's room for debate, but AJ did tell RD that she might learn something about having fun. And then there was the wink at the end.
I love this episode because of how Applejack ends up haunting Rainbow Dash it's so funny.
I was wondering why Applejack was giving Rainbow advice on taking care of the grannies when she's not the one who even chaperones the grannies to Las Pegasus. I think RD should've talked to Big Mac for better advice.
Question_Mark Knowing Dash, she would have just decided to go for it and wing it. With how impatient she was being, I doubt she would have taken the time to ask anyone.

An okay episode but the biggest thing to come out of it, we got to see Trixie's dad! The writers aren't likely to just throw the character out there nonchalantly. I think it's highly likely that we will be getting a Trixie episode either this season or next involving something with her Father.

(but as it's on Adult Swim I prolly won't because I boycott Adult Swim for what they did to the anime , what was once EVERY night at midnight till 6am is now only Saturday nights till 6am. The chess thing is a meme started by Xkcd, where he used a chessboard with the pieces glued on to appear to be playing chess on a roller-coaster. it took off like wildfire, and appropriately enough was even popular in military helicopters
I myself am still baffled how they managed to get away with this title, but this was a fun episode. Even though I never would've expected Rainbow Dash to share an episode with Granny Smith (or the rest of the Gold Horseshoe Gals), they made it work pretty well. They seem like a blast to hang out with it on a Las Pegasus trip. =) And speaking of Las Pegasus, looks like Flim and Flam are doing a good job running this resort after Gladmane was run out. Looks like they might have found their true calling.
I haven't watched much of the Golden Girls, but I definitely see the parallels with the grannies. Apple Rose is, well, Rose, Betty White's character, the naive storyteller. Apple Sauce is Blanche, the flirtatious Southern belle (that poor, poor bellhop). Not sure who Dorothy or Sophia would be between Granny and Goldie. Both prove pretty sassy, lol
After seeing this episode a couple times, I'm still not sure whether or not AJ was just messing with Dash by giving her those rules, as though she knew the grannies could take care of themselves, but when I first watched, I thought she was being well-meaning but zealously overprotective, like she was with Apple Bloom in Somepony to Watch Over Me. I do imagine it may be a result of survivor's guilt over what happened with her parents, as you mentioned.
To me, though, when I watched this episode, it felt like Pinkie's stubborn insistence on keeping promises in Green Isn't Your Color: if it weren't for it, they wouldn't have to go through so much hassle. Rainbow wouldn't have been acting all paranoid and uptight, getting in the way of the grannies' fun. Either AJ's in for a talking-to when the gals get home, or they're not gonna mention it, and she'll be none the wiser.
Still, good to know that the Gold Horseshoe Gals have special VIP perks in Las Pegasus, and allowed Dash to ride the Wild Blue Yonder after all. I'm not a big fan of roller coasters, but it looks fun. Also sweet to see her being allowed to join the group herself. =)
Good lessons, too: even if you should take care of what your body can handle, don't let your age dictate how you ought to have fun, and don't judge people and their idea of fun just because they're old. Grandparents can be pretty awesome. =)
Some side notes:
-I too am glad they touched upon the balance between the school and the Mane 6's day-to-day lives. I'd been wondering about that myself.
-Dash was on a roll with the faces she pulled off in this episode. XD
-I have no idea how they got away with that air traffic stallion being an alicorn, but I'm not opposed to the idea of male alicorns. =P
-I can only imagine what these trips were like for Big Mac, lol. Like you say, he probably doesn't really follow the rules, and the only difficulty is him dealing with all the luggage.
-You and I had the same idea about that derp-cat and Gummy potentially getting along, lol
-That magician, Jack Pot, is confirmed to be Trixie's father, but it doesn't seem like he knows that he has a daughter...

-Interesting to meet Jack Pot, and have confirmation that he really is Trixie's father. I think those trips for Big Mac would be a lot like that one episode of King of the Hill where Hank has to take his mother and three other elderly women to this one island off the coast of Texas or something like that and they get caught up in the middle of an MTV spring break party. That would actually make a pretty interesting Season 9 episode. Grannies gone wild 2.

I know how the poor Bellhop pony feels. There is this old lady where I work at (likely around the same age as Aunt Applesauce would be if she were Human) and she pulls the same thing with me that she did with the Bellhop. Also I a glad you noticed Rick and Morty, a lot of reactors had missed them but you did miss Walter White from Breaking Bad. XD
Now on to the biggest elephant in the room. Jackpot. I would just love to see Trixie meet her father for the first time and we have a real emotional meeting. I am glad to see more controversial topics in this season. Racism, illegitimate children and who knows what to come. Of course, I do not support those things, but showing children how racism is bad and ect.

The other creatures are not (the hippogryffs are kinda the exception because they're half pony, though it seems hinted they've been absent from Equestrian interactions at large for long enough the pony half is ignored by that rascist jerk) and it's very different in other ways.
The ponies were just scared of Zecora. The chair pony outright treated the other creatures like they were outright dangerous, not to mention insults them to their faces as if expecting them and the rest of the ponies to fully agree

12:02 Flashbacks to BronyCon, am I right?
Yahoo! new reaction is up :) and yeah the timespan of a "moon" is definitely a head scratcher that I've been trying to solve for awhile now and my best guess is a moon is roughly 5.2 weeks. My best guess comes from a few different places in the show and Equestria girls stuff. Now in the 1st Equestria girls movie they say the portal only opens every 30 moons. The girls are confirmed to be juniors and since its the fall formal the year must have just started. Now in the Forgotten Friendship special Wallflower says she met Sunset in Freshman year meaning Sunset has been in the human world for around 3 years. It most likely wasn't longer then that since the human mane 5 were friends in their Freshman years start. The time may not be exact but based on that we can assume 30 moons is roughly 3 years or 10 moons in a year. Another good indication is from the season 3 episode "Apple Family Reunion". Granny says they have a reunion every 100 moons. Factoring that into my formula 1 moon = 5.2 weeks then 100 moons =520 weeks and 520 weeks/ 52 weeks in a year=10 years so basically 100 moons is 10 years which is decent time spacing between reunions. And getting back to this episode yeah I know Goldie says they save up their energy all year for their trip here and later saying they've been going on the trip every moon for as long as they can remember implying that a moon is a year but I think that may just be a minor plot hole as it makes no sense when compared to the other reasons I pointed out since that would mean Sunset has been in the human world for over 30 years and the Apples only get together every 100 years for their reunions.

The way the coaster being promoted and talked about before it closed for good reminded me of "The Great American Scream Machine". A now defunct coaster at Six Flags, Great Adventure, in Jackson, NJ. It ran from 1989 to 2010. During the 2010 season, (it's final season), there was multiple signs in the park as well as on their Facebook page encouraging people to get one last ride before it closed forever.

This was just such a fun episode, and an amazingly fun reaction LOVED IT! Nothing much to really add this time, it's a simple excuse plot to have some fun. Also to see if they can get the most un-googlable episode title ever.
Also yes, AJ definitely has some abandonment fears, a few years ago one of the writers mentioned that the current idea they had for her parents fate was that they'd been killed in a timber wolf attack, so that really would lead to that kind of survivor guilt you mentioned.
And I love the Roller Coaster aspect to it.

I just realized...We know Applejack and Rainbow Dash had become a couple in The Last Problem. So, was this episode Applejack "introducing" Rainbow to her relatives? Rainbow becoming part the Apple Family works well with the fact she's part of The Gold Horseshoe Gals, taking part in an annual family tradition...Someone who's younger might've been why Granny asked her to join since Rainbow's Loyalty would bring her to keep the tradition and the Club alive after Granny and the other three pass away? I wonder if Rainbow becoming part of the family was ALREADY discussed between her and AJ. So, that's why Applejack gave a deep introduction to Rainbow about Granny, Goldie, Applesauce, and Apple Rose! Actually, I can think of several times where Rainbow had more involvement with the Apple Family than the rest of The Mane Six
Rainbow Dash interacted a full episode with Granny Smith, Great-Auntie Applesauce, Cousin Apple Rose, and Cousin Goldie Delicious and became a member of the Gold Horseshoe Gals in this episode, Grannies Gone Wild.
Rainbow Dash was given a good introduction and interaction to cousin Braeburn in Buckball Season.
Big Mac interacted more personally with Dash back in Super Speedy Cider Squeezy 6000.

Well, Applejack has also shown to hate being touched by others, she has been shown touching others or letting them closer on her own account, but the difference is that when Applejack is shown doing this, there a very obvious caring or motherly way to how or why she does it that shows when she does this, like picking up the Twilighting Twilight and sitting her down in her chair like a foal in The Beginning of the End, worrying about Apple Bloom getting hurt in Somepony to Watch Over Me, Calming a panicking Twilight with an instructed deep breath in Best Gift Ever, the way she was taking care of the grannies here in Grannies Gone Wild, taking care of Big Mac when he fell sick in Growing Up is Hard to Do, helping Rockhoof (who, keep in mind, is actually not an adult and still a colt) in A Rockhoof and A Hard Place, how she saved Spike in Spike at Your Service, and any other times she cared for the other five of the Mane Six. It is pretty obvious Applejack is something like the "mom" of group and is simply taking care of the others (wouldn't be surprised if she was the oldest of the Six).
But, Rainbow Dash and Applejack have been touching or interacting each other's bodies in very intimate or warming ways in lots of episodes She's All Yak, The Last Problem, Tanks for the Memories, The Last Round-Up, The Ending of the End, Grannies Gone Wild, The Ticket Master, Non-Complete Clause, Bridle Gossip, Fall Weather Friends, to the very FIRST episode of the entire SHOW, Friendship is Magic. Also, in Castle Mane-ia, the scene where Rainbow Dash feels something touch her, she gives a small flirty smile and says "Applejack...If you're scared you can just admit it, you don't need to hold on to me..." then she gives the bedrooms eyes, of course Applejack wasn't the thing that touching her. But I believe Ashleigh Ball said that when Rainbow Dash had said that she actually WAS hoping that Applejack was holding on to her...This means the Applejack is somepony that Rainbow Dash is actually REALLY comfortable with touching her. So, comfortable she actually WANTS Applejack to hold on to her...if she can want AJ to hold on to her and with the bedroom eyes she gave back to AJ when asking that, this indicates that Rainbow Dash most likely was thinking herself that she'd want to have sex with Applejack then...And she was expecting that if AJ really WAS holding on to her, it wouldn't be from fright but wanting to get close to Rainbow Dash...and you know...That's the scene that made me be a AppleDash shipper, Rainbow Dash exposing THAT much trust and comfort with Applejack to even think about asking that question without any signs of discomfort or annoyance...that is a very special kind of trust...and the kind of trust that is NEEDED for a healthy relationship, especially one where sex will occur...
That's why I'm an AppleDash shipper and WHY I think Applejack let Rainbow go to Las Pegasus with her family.

P.S. Because I know there are FlutterDash shippers who'll say there's a pony I haven't really mentioned who has a close relationship with RD is our little shy butterball horse...Fluttershy. Yes, I have noticed that Dash seems fine being touched or hugged by Butter Ball (Fluttershy). This to me isn't anything of a surprise since they were childhood friends, but nothing more. Dash knows Butters well and knows she's shy and probably only loves Butterball like a sister or family friend, vice versa...Dash has a history with the Shy Family anyway and defended Fluttershy when she was bullied...she was a bystander and a defender to the Butter Butt. There are a couple of moments there where the show is living up to the title, and not in a good way. You know, kids show!

I felling sorry for Jack pot because in No Second Prances Trixie said that her inspiration was Hoofdini and not to be a inspiration for your kid when he is in same domain as you , is kinda sad , Poor Jack Pot , i just hope at least that Trixie love him very much because if not that would make a hurtful and heartwarming episode . I mean he is a magician in Las Pegasus he must have not seen his daughter and wife in long time.

Why does everyone assume Jackpot is Trixie's DAD? My first assumption was he was Trixie's GRANDdad, because he was hitting on the grannies & he has a few more wrinkles in his design than the average stallion in the show (and other father characters in the show for that matter), implying he's older than the rest. So he could be Trixie's granddad.
But if he really is Trixie's dad & just like older women, that fine.
Because apparently it is written in some MLP material that Trixie's dad is called Jack Pot. And this pony that looks like Trixie is called Jack Pot......
