I have one kislux bag I got in 2019, it's the LV white catogram speedy. It's counter quality and it has a nice honey patina now, so the leather is real. I think whatever makes you happy go for it. I've seen LV with plastic leather and blood red glaze...
Just got into the sony eco system with an a7iv and a 20-70. Love this lens as a first general purpose / backpacking adventure lens for photo and video but now trying to decide on the telephoto end and wide angle end. I'm leaning towards the 70-200 f4 macro and for the wide thinking going with a prime this time around like the 14mm 1.8 for astro and anything ultra-wide angle like the flower shots you took. That 100-400 seems huge! Wondering what made you chose that over a 70-200 f4? Was it the extra reach?
Beautiful shots my man! Great work and I am also trying to get the minimal carry as well, very tough to do! I got my Explore V2 30L and hoping to keep it a little light!
Nice video! As a Canon photographer (large lenses, large camera bodies) this is one of my bigger struggles as well. I essentially want to bring a ton of lenses but I'm trying to restrict myself to just 1-3 lenses based on the trip scenario. It's always a tough challenge!
yeah even the canon rf lenses aren't that much smaller than ef lenses... I love how durable canon stuff is, but the size prevents me from switching lol
Love the thoughts and decisions. And excellent photos! Traveling light is always tough but rewarding. I really really love the Novoflex tripod system. The legs detach and are interchangeable. So I've got everything from ~1lb to ~5lb kits I could put together. Everything from a table top to 6 ft, if I needed. What I will say, is that what I pack for hiking + what I bring in total are two different things. Chargers, etc. Sometimes filters, backup legs, etc. go in the suitcase but not with me that day.
this strap is from the regular explore 25L... it doesn't actually velcro in, so the weight distribution is a little different as if u turn quickly it can shift around, but if ur walking straight it does the job
Here’s a little irony I felt. When we travel we compromise what we bring and sometimes leave the best equipment for portability. When we shoot locally we have plenty other chances to revisit whereas with locations faraway have less chance you may visit again. Then, won’t it make sense to use the best you have for the shots you may not have another chance anytime soon?
Two ways to look at it, for me: Do we always /need/ the best equipment or do we have it because it's fun? Some of each, IMO. If I take too much gear, I / the gear might not make it to the place where the shot actually is, rendering the whole thing moot. OTOH, I've certainly been traveling and kicking myself for leaving a lens or extra battery at home... You can't predict the future LOL.
there's definitely a balance... I always ask myself what kinda shots I need to get and what minimum amount of camera gear I need... cause bringing too can limit where im motivated to go lol
you’re literally my comfort person i love you kislux !

This is light weight for Spencer 😂 for me, I went from A7RV to A7CR to now Fuji X-T50 😅

definitely will have to take a look at that tripod system!
Looks like a great trip. She looked like she was getting tired of the jokes though. haha
im sure she was lol
Great video! Just wondering, which waist strap are you using with the urban explore? Also does it transfer weight as well as the other shimoda bags?

Crazy scenery 😮

Thank you for the tips! Do you mind sharing your itinerary?
"lightweight" seem a little like a stretch. Would imagine more like 1 camera + 1 or 2 lenses.
And a mini-tripod instead of 2 "travel" ones 😅
hence the quotation marks in the thumbnail lol
