Me too I am proud to have grown up in that era with so much quality music, films, comedy, even many TV series were so well done and had memorable theme tunes some I've saved on this site!
When I was young, I lived in the real Woodstock, NY. When I heard that song for the first time, it just seemed to fit the way I thought. I knew Dylan as my dad was doing carpentry for Al Grossman. I heard this fellow playing a piano. I played a little so I went to look. Very accomplished. This was late 1963. I didn’t know much about him then. I mowed the lawn for Peter Yarrow in 64 or 65. This song will stand the test of time
@@1702davidson thank you for sharing that with me! I always said Bessie Banks husband may have wrote this song, and she was the original singer. No one would ever outdo Denny Laine.
These are the memories that define a point in time. This is what makes the balance between good and evil. I am an electrical radio engineer, I do radio station transmitters. I met a lot of musicians growing up in Woodstock, NY. Now 76. Just a memory now
I can't believe this fabulous musician /singer has passed away today.... What a loss for the musical world... . He wrote my favourite song. "Say you don't mind" "Go now" being my second... Rest in peace Mr Laine..... 🙏❤️😥
OMG.... I remember having an argument with my girl friend ..in 1964..i was 20... i went home (walk). and mum. got up n said well are you hungry .. narrrr. !!! mum so i put the TV on and GO NOW was. being performed ..I though Wow.. what a beautiful song... and as. my. girlfriend said "Go Now" RIP. Denny ..years. later in Sydney Australia I bought Ahhh Laine .... Next year i will be 80.. Thanks Denny... you was the best ... ie ...one reason I emigrated to Australia in 1968 was the girl friend and GO NOW... I did..!! Thanks Denny .... RIP..
Rest In Peace Denny I’d say that I’m crying inside but I’m outwardly crying. You were spectacular. Thank you for sharing your special gifts with all of us. You will be remembered fondly forever 💙
Shame Denny doesn't get more credit for his contribution to Wings. While it was always Paul's band, Wings was only Wings with Denny in it. And Wings was wonderful....
Such a great song! So sad that it's been virtually forgotten -- only 57 likes!!! Just like knitting and crocheting -- lost arts that no one is even aware of anymore.😥
After hearing this song for the first time, this song just stays in your soul, and each time you listen to it, just makes you want to hear it again and again. What a wonderful gift he blessed us with. RIP.
Denny was a giant in the realm of musicians and won't be forgotten. Thanks, Denny Laine, for the music and the great memories from my youth to today. R I Peace ✌️.
This song brings back my adolescent years.Lots of memories. Always loved this song and always will. Denny had such a wonderful voice. RIP to a very talented musician who left behind lot of great music for us.
I've been looking for this for ages. I loved David Essex and this is a clip from David Essex's TV show, 1977. I fell in love with this version and have been looking for it for years, so Thank You 😊
I just today found out. My late ex-husband passed from PPMS & cancer. He made copies of the movie ‘Go Now’, and gave them to loved ones so they’d understand MS better. I had saved the song to my playlist for when I was ‘ready’ to hear it. Sure enough on the anniversary of his passing it came on. Hug those you love and TELL them. 🙏🏼💙🕊️
RIP Denny and thank you for this masterpiece that for some reason was instantly embedded in brain the first time I heard it. It never let go. I can feel a change of consciousness every time I hear it. Makes me want to pull the car over to the curb.
That voice ❤ Had me loving this song since 1965..." Tellin' me that you really don't want to end this way". I will forever listen to this & all of Denny's genius music.
Denny could have been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as Wings but he was underrated, so inducting him as The Moody Blues is a celebration of his career.
This is my favorite song - of so many great songs in the 60s and 70s it has such impact on me and anyone who has loved someone and it just hasn't worked out. I only found out today Denny had passed away today - so sad- such a talent such and amazing musician, we who heard his music, in his era, were so blessed Rest In Peace Denny.
Denny Laine :1944 - 2023 has "gone now". Definitely the glue of sensibility of the real that kept The Wings together for 10 years. The Wings made tremendous music having that real sensible Denny Laine glue between The Paul and Linda project and the revolving & evolving door of Band members. Paul and Linda were very much bubbled child like 30 something adults traveling with their kids on tour. It must have taken a lot of fortitude for Denny Laine to balance those dynamics for 10 years.
I met him: hung out with him and what a lovely, lovely man.. I was very upset when he passed altho I know there is no death but again I gotta say: guess he had to go now…. Still, now in 2024. Kinda bums me out but he is ok.
It didn’t matter if Denny did this with the Moodys, Wings, or by himself it was always top notch.
or his first band the Diplomats (Birmingham)
Absolutely
Completely and TOTALLY ❤💕
Saw wings twice and this contribution was always top notch..
Sorry to see him go he was a key part of wings he will be missed
RIP Denny. You were an integral part to Wings, and you were an amazing musician.
RIP DENNY
❄️🌹🎶❤️ R I P DENNY and Thank You.
RIP Denny and thank you for the great music 🌈❤️
Ya got that right mate! 👍👍
Denny 🥰 Was the amazing “Part” for me, ooof his piano-singing skills are off the charts Great! Mighty Handsome man too!
Being a teenager in the '70's I was blessed to have some of the best musicians ever to enjoy , never will I forget 💜
Got that right.

no he isn't, dunce boy.
the '60s was the best decade for music
It sure was! We were so lucky to have this time..❤
I would add the first part of the 70's too - before it was being destroyed by Disco and Punk.
Rest in peace Denny Laine, you're one of the greatest and your music gonna live FOREVER
