This is why I teach secondary! (6-12th) I make that last phone call sometimes, but I don't have to deal with all the bodily fluids! Plus, if there's a fight, that's up to the administration and resource officer to solve, I just do what I can to minimize the damage and then call for admin.
I can't imagine calling parents daily with updates. A message on school system is enough for me. Please tell me you're not using your personal number for that call.
Why does this sound familiar? When I taught a K/1 inclusion class, I kept a large file drawer full of complete changes of clothes, including for myself!
