  • Here is the Glacier & Wildlife Cruise of Kenai Fjord National Park with Major Marine Tours from Seward. We also visit Portage Glacier along with Whittier and hike to the Portage Pass Summit. Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center is another highlight in this area. Exit Glacier, Byron Glacier are some other interesting hikes. Make sure to have Salmon at a famous seafood restaurant in Seward.

When I was in the 10th grade, I was staying with my great-aunt and uncle (my grandmother’s sister and her husband) and they ended up taking a trip to the Kenai Peninsula for 2 weeks along with their eldest son, and they decided to let me tag along. We stayed in Seward for a couple of days, and we went to see these exact glaciers. The one in the water, we got to see a giant piece fall off of it, and then the boat people fished a couple of chunks of the glacier with a net and we used a giant piece of 10k+ year old ice to keep our cooler cold for the next couple of days 😄 and then we also went to some other places like Homer, Alaska, and a couple more that I can’t remember right at this moment (as this was 7 or 8 years ago!) and we went during the spring time, so the Sun didn’t go down until 10-11pm at night! And was up again by 3 or 4 in the morning! I got to see whales, seals, bears, otters, and a bunch of other stuff that we don’t have where I’m from (I am from Southeast Colorado, but have lived all over the state of Colorado) and I will always remember how exciting it was to get to see all of that stuff, I hope to go back there again some day!

July is the scheduled month for all resident Alaskans(all) to DIP NET for SALMON. It will be extensively crowded on the banks of the rivers 🥰 very exciting to watch, esp off the RUSSIAN RIVER (also has waterfall hike😍). (Kenai Peninsula ❤️) Seward is a approx 2hr drive from Soldotna/KENAI. Most, if not all😏 who visit Seward, will visit Soldotna on their way to HOMER (fish capital of the world ☺️) all driven in a days time with time to spend exploring. Albeit so much to see❤️, most tourists spend a day for Homer, one for Seward, one for quick drive to Anchorage - Girdwood, Whittier with the famous “last remaining hand dug tunnel “ in the world (costs to travel thru, it’s one way shared with a train 😲😉) , & there’s a schedule if you choose to explore or take a cruise from there. Both locations are accessible before Anchorage👍definitely need extra day or so to enjoy these ALL😍 🙏🏻🗽🇺🇸

Beware that those Alaskan cruises do not always prove successful in witnessing wildlife, aquatic wildlife, or glaciers breaking 🤨 it is more rare and these people were lucky. Also ... ITS VERY VERY EXPENSIVE. (Alaska is my home❤️) definitely worth the trip if you are an outdoorsman/person. Would rather the truth of the rarities of witnessing whales, glaciers breaking, puffins not being seen every cruise.. . depends on season, not just summer 🙃😏🙏🏻🗽🇺🇸

    • @siadhillon

Agree! The weather gets unpredictable in Alaska and depends from day to day. Anyhow, the entire purpose of this video is to show what is the best possible one can achieve.
