Anime, 1st appearances in popular mangas will be a thing in the next 30. The kids of today and probably 15 years ago have allot of connections to manga shows and books. They’ll be searching for it down the road

I was gonna say not because the first apperance of those characters was in Japan in books like Shonen jump and later are compiled in books and published there first so american don't really have access to first apperances, but since people now collect second, third print of comic books I can see a market for first apperance of manga characters in the US editions.
with very few collectors buying the real deal straight from Japan. Not sure if there is prices around for shonen jump issues with the first apperance of Goku, Vegeta, Freezer, etc.
Still wrong, Zoomers and Gen Alpha don't care about physical media. They all prefer to pay for streaming services and move on to the next fotm anime. Stop speculating and just invest in index funds, Timmy.

Which vintage Rolex models do you recommend? I am of the opposite, I believe modern and discontinued modern is the best way to go.
I am a huge fan of vintage Submariners, and to your point modern ones as well. Daytonas have potential too.

Shawn, great content as always. The following is my perspective on the comic book market. Would love to hear your thoughts in a video! I think comic books are in trouble; including silver age marquee characters. I do not see another catalyst on the horizon. Interest in MCU/DCU has waned and will continue to decline over time. On the other hand, I do foresee more and more baby boomer collections coming to market which will bolus the supply side with waning demand in the setting of stressed middle class finances. Eventually this will be a “collector” only market again as speculation produces diminished returns.
Thats a very fair and objective assessment of investing in Rolex.

I was am into collectibles since 1993, I live in Austria but I learned all I know during my time in New York in the 90th. What you say about the differences of the Collectibles trade in the USA compared to Europe is SPOT ON, you are 100% right. For me, as I started in the USA, I had to learn the American way of doing it and I am happy I did, I was in front of my competitors here in Europe most of the time.

Depends on what type of ‘Timmie’ you are. Do you want to try to hide your identity? Or…do you require attention and recognition? Also, are you planning to perform the threat yourself or have someone carry it? I would need to know the answers to these questions to help guide you properly. All I ask is that you make sure it’s a clean job…otherwise I’m going to ‘be like John Wick’ and come and get you if I’m still alive. This was a great question, thank you!

Fantastic video once again Shawn... I will 100% disagree with you though that the antiques and collectables trade, hobby, started in America... Mate, no it didn't, Europeans have been collecting for thousands of years... I mean there is significant evidence of the ancient Egyptians collecting artefacts. Indeed, so much art and sculpture etc was collected as the spoils of war and passed down generationally. Look at the rise Bibliomania in the 17th century throughout Europe. The Chinese and Japanese were great hoarders and traders of artefacts. Hence so much cultural items found their way to central Europe from Asia and West Asia before Marco Polo.
I’m speaking from a financial and investment purpose mainly here. Just to clarify.
@@ReservedInvestments 🤔Again I would disagree. Maybe Americans created the idea of quick flipping. The rest of the world has a different outlook. And it depends on how you look at investing. The rest of the world (Europe) look at “collecting”, or rather acquisitions as building long term, generational wealth. The Rothschilds I would say are a perfect example of the strategic buying of assets around personal interests and never selling.
I would avoid getting on platforms and showing more valuable items, especially if you have garnered a ton of subs. Also, if you have a significant net worth, AND have a large social media following, I suggest an umbrella insurance policy. They are not expensive and can protect you and your money from nut jobs. Costs do vary, however, based upon how large your social media footprint is.

speaking of international collectibles - China has a really interesting / crazy history with antiques and collectibles. Be interesting where they put their money in a few years time as real estate looks less and less attractive.

80s nostalgia is now, many of them are in their economic prime and so can buy vintage items at collectors prices, in 25 years most of the people that lived the 80s will start to pass away.

I heard beanie babies making comeback slowly. People in flea market wouldn’t sell you beanie babies at 25 cents anymore. They are raising the price of beanie babies price?
people in their 30-40s are revisinting the 90s, so a lot of collectibles like comic books that where pretty much worthless(because of the high amount of copies) are seeing a slight jump in price, I can see them buying beanie babies, but I don't se any 90s collectibles being worth in the long run or achieving really high prices, its probably going to be a fad just like in the 90s.
