- In this episode of How We Got Here, host Jan Darasz and his guest Jakub Graca, a NATO Research Fellow at the Center for Eastern Studies, go back in time to explain the mechanisms that allowed Poland, Hungary, and the Czech Republic to join NATO 25 years ago, how Moscow reacted to the news, and what these countries have brought to the Alliance. For the soldiers of the Polish Armed Forces being in NATO has meant a time of dedicated service and dynamic development. The Polish military has been actively involved in the creation of NATO security structures and has participated in numerous military missions beyond the country's borders. As part of NATO missions, Poland has actively participated in operations in Albania, Kosovo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Afghanistan, and Iraq.
