That's only technically partially true. It buys from India only for Indian orders. The AH64 chassis is for Indian orders only, which after being shipped to the US, will be sent back to India as a finished product. The net still remains India being the importer.

I don't think that India is competing with Russia. Through India, Russia can maintain its clout amongst its allies despite being caught up in a war. It is a win-win situation for both Russia and India and both countries can serve their national interests well. Who hosts the stock footage used by most folks in the world? And which company does that company belong to? Shutterstock is American and iStock is Canadian. Right there you have your answer on why literally every foreign source (not just media, but even youtubers) always display such kind of stock footage of India: because that is the only type made available to its customers by the company that enjoys the majority share in the global stock footage market.
SOLUTION: Create an Indian competitor to that industry, one that hosts stock footage of not just India, but the entire world. And then curate the collection of stock photos for soft-propaganda and social programming similar to how our enemy is doing it.
Always think strategically. Don't just comment and forget. Try to understand the mechanics/economics of the enemy propaganda machine and use it against them. If not by starting such a counter-company, then at least by spreading this idea around.

That's only technically partially true. It buys from India only for Indian orders. The AH64 chassis is for Indian orders only, which after being shipped to the US, will be sent back to India as a finished product. The net still remains India being the importer.

This is not so strange. Russia can no longer be trusted by it's neighbors and India makes weapons that are often very smilar to Russian weapons. They are also adorable and Russia can't very well complain because they are themselves dependent on India, when it comes to civilian trade.

India has surpassed Russia in spheres like avionics, & is a power in its own right in the AD, EW & missile tech sphere today. Indian weapons are compatible with Russian platforms because of India's own vast arsenal of Soviet/Russian origin platforms like Su-30 MKIs, Mig29s, etc, but aren't necessarily "similar to Russian weapons".

Reason was simple, Russia, Turkey, and Azerbaijan made a deal to take Armenia out of thw picture, and grab the very juicy Syunik area, that would connect Turkey, Azerbaijan, and Russia.

Assuming that Russia is leaning more towards Armenia in their conflict with Azerbaijan if not siding with it completely, the deal with India would happen with Russia's tacit approval. A 2 Billion USD is by no means a small defense deal but you have to take into account the Russian crude oil and natural gas exports to India are in the range of 50-60 Billion USD annually.
I was under the impression Armenia was only buying the Pinaka SAM system for a few hundred million USD.

I don't think that India is competing with Russia. Through India, Russia can maintain its clout amongst its allies despite being caught up in a war. It is a win-win situation for both Russia and India and both countries can serve their national interests well. Besides money, an opportunity to scale up its defense exports, and gain entry in southern Europe, India's entry into Armenia gets it access to a region close to Turkey and Azerbaijan both of whom have criticized India on various internal issues and are cozying up with Pakistan (a nation hostile to India for the last several decades). Plus, India also has the blessings of the Christian world at large at least on this issue.

Russia is known to provide sensitive tech to India (albeit at a steep price) when other nations flatly refused to do so (e.g., nuclear submarine tech, supersonic ramjet missile tech, etc.), so I won't be surprised if India keeps a nominal but stable military relation with Russia until India doesn't get its MIC and MoD working well enough, in which case the buyer may become the seller in the relationship dynamic.
