I would move the dog bed up between the trunks or up near the pillow so you can cover up if blankets fall off or your dog can come and suggle up if cold.
I’d love to know what suv vehicle this is ❤ I lived 3 months in a murano - it was spacious!! It had a sunroof, so I’d crack open it just abt an inch for air and my small dog and I stayed at so many gorgeous hidden gems in Colorado! Though I experienced homelessness in my car for three months this way, getting gym passes to shower, it was the most peaceful time in nature and no worries I’d ever experienced. ❤
Don’t feel bad I had too live with my husband and children in a van because we lost our place we made the best out of that situation it was kind of fun and adventurous. We felt free .I got some lead lights blankets, cute pillows, radio ipad and hook it up to get movies, snacks, and a membership at 24 hour fitness for us to take showers.. until we found a new place to live.. best wishes
Good start. Those big, space hogging boxes are going to drive you nuts. **Use soft moldable stuff bags to hold ur gear. Also, leave an open space by one of the back doors to get in & out; a place to stand on ur knees & take ur shoes off. ( Full-time SUV nomad camper here, who also did a "no build" in my Toyota. I removed both back seats, laid down soft mats & put my mattress down on the floor. Much more room, & a sense of privacy when you lay below the windows. * Get or make window covers & try laying the other way, with ur feet towards the front seats.👌)
@Awareness_With_Dennis I lay with my feet towards the passenger seat for a couple of reasons, it's easier to access my 2gal pale potty, & so ppl can't look through the front door windows & see me using my phone at night. I cover all 5 windows at night in the back of my suv, so it's really like a dark private cave the farther back that I go. I also put up a windshield cover, but I always leave my front door windows uncovered at night. They're tinted dark, so ppl can't see the low lights that I have on, but I can see out & get a little air in. ( I have rain guards on all 4 windows, so I can have my windows open 2" & no one knows from the outside. * I do a lot of town stealth camping & this is what's worked for me.)
I would just have a storage unit in the city I was in to keep most items. And keep items that i would sell online.. And Only keep daily items in my car... since you're not paying rent and bills paying monthly storage unit is a lot more affordable and convenient. Emergency toilet, Closet, sitting area, storage for online business... it was very convenient.

I’m preparing to remove the passenger seat from my Odyssey and I suggest you consider doing that. I expect to mount a custom rack that will hold my auxiliary power unit, 12V fridge, and maybe a microwave oven. That seat is useless and it occupies a ton of space…
I mean it's useless to you but they could actually use it. Not everyone wants a build and to do tons of things to their car. And some want to be stealth. Like if you have a job that has a kitchen you don't necessarily need a kitchen.

Great chair idea!! Raising the bed a little bit on simple frame with slats (not solid) would be good eventual so no mold builds up under bed
