What amazing Textiles without a doubt. Thank you for inlaighment to something that l was never expose as a little Mexican child growing in a town of 500 inhabits.
Stuart, you are a prize. Designing and making your own Toile de Jouy. I can see it used on crazy angled walls, like under staircases, or dormer windows. And I like to see it on everything from walls to the canape and bergere and certainly the bed upholstering. If a little is good why not a lot? And I'm very partial to the background colors that you don't see as much: teal, yellow, orange and certainly green. Been in Mexico too long I guess. Once saw a Peter Marino room with Toil de Jouy in black...very unusual and sophisticated. Not for everyone of course. Thanks so much for the visit to the Toile Museum...so informative. And, of course, to see the house artist at work.
Hi Ralph. My guess is that you don't have -21 degrees........ Well, we all deserve better than the temperatures we have here. Like you, I enjoy Toiles with strong backgrounds. Not sure I'd be brave enough to do a room with them, but hope I will. Looking for upholstery tools so we are ready. My parents have some furniture that we will need to pick up once we have a chateau on our way to sign the final contract and get the keys. What an exciting thought! My job was to paint portraits - reproductions of lovely ladies from the 17th and 18th centuries in oil. Stuart figured that we need some things for the walls right away. Enjoy a drink, I think it's a 3PM Martini day for us. Hugs and thank you so much 😚
Thank you, Julie! I am currently testing a few companies for having my designs printed on fabrics, but I definitely want to have them as wallpaper, too!
That was very interesting about toile. I love toile fabric and use it when I can afford it in my quilting. But I didn't know all the minute detail about the history of it.

Love you guys! I nearly choked on coffee when I saw the orange toile sofa! To.die.for! Stuart, your designs are so lovely, both will be gorgeous additions in any color combination, I’m sure. Cheers to you both, as always!!
Darling Wendy. I loved that toile sofa too! Such a fresh color combination. Hope all is well. Stay safe. I’m having a nice French rosé. 🥰
Loved the history of the toile de Jouy
Hope to visit there one day soon
Hi there. You will enjoy the museum. It’s laid back. They even have rooms with fabrics and wallpapers (they were not open when we were there). Be safe and thank you for watching.

Love this video. Thanks for the knowledge.💙 I adore the tote bag and napkins as well as the china. That drawing is stunning.
Thank you for your comment. I had to stop myself at the gift shop……. I could have gone a bit nuts. 😂. Please stay healthy and safe.
Beautiful work Stuart!
Wel, dun guys, I have seen other toile history's presented yours was by far the most comprehensive. I love the birds and flowers and I'm really looking forward to your designs... I am dabbling with my own design for linen napkins.
Thank you, my friend! 😄
You are so kind. Thank you so much. It’s great that you are a highly creative man. Will you post designs on Instagram? I am as of today signed in with our journey log in. Please be safe.
Thank you, Ralph! 😀
Hugs and thank you so much 😚
Another vlog I’ve loved. Stuart your toile is amazing!
Loved the toile episode. Hope we can see more historical lessons about French design
Oh Stuart, I just love your designs . If you were ever to produce them as wallpaper ,I would def buy them . Just love your series.
Thank you, Julie! I am currently testing a few companies for having my designs printed on fabrics, but I definitely want to have them as wallpaper, too!
Stuart, your talent is amazing. The patterns are beautiful.
Stuart your designs are wonderful please continue to share these with us thank you.
Beautiful!❤️
😘. Thank you.
Incredible, you are so talented
Thank you! ❤️
Thank you for this video, you made it so interesting, really enjoyed it.x
That was very interesting about toile. I love toile fabric and use it when I can afford it in my quilting. But I didn't know all the minute detail about the history of it.
I saw this for the first time today as well. Even though I love Toile for 4 decades, and went to the museum, I still learned quite a bit today. Have fun quilting! I admire people who can quilt……. It’s not me but brava! 🥰
Stuart, thanks for the drawing lesson. I will have to design my own toile de jouy pattern.
Absolutely stunning. You two are wonderful.
As a textile designer and toile lover- BRAVO!!!!
Thank you very much! 💕😊
