Hi! Sorry for the slow reply. I thought I made a video about our "de-winterization," but apparently I didn't. The winterization we did worked well.
Even though we took the batteries out and kept them inside where it was warmer, Matt's battery died over the winter, and his WaveRunner wouldn't start, so we had to run to Walmart and get him a new one.
Once the new battery was installed we flushed the engines to get the fogging oil out of the cylinders and then replaced the spark plugs with new ones. We were going to change the engine oil, but we had changed it towards the end of the season and had only gone 1 or 2 times with the new oil, so we skipped that step.
And that's it. We didn't do anything else. I hope this helps. If not, let me know, and I'll be happy to answer anything else. Thanks for watching!

Followed the same exact process on my 2022 VX Limited. For the antifreeze I used the cheap pump from Harbor Freight(had to buy the adapter so the hose from the pump would connect to the Yamaha drain plug) but kudos to Matt for being creative! Are you guys wrapping yours for the winter? I paid 115 for a professional to come and do that for me; I feel it adds an extra layer of protection.

We haven't decided yet what to do for covering them. I don't want to leave them sitting out with just the factory cover on, but I just found out my job is going away in a couple months, and I'm trying to not spend money if I don't have to.
I'm going to call a couple places on Monday to see how much it would cost to cover them. Shrink wrap is by far the best option.
I thought about using a tarp, but tarps are abrasive. If I did that, I'd throw a soft blanket over the factory cover to protect it, but I'm worried if the tarp isn't real tight, it could flap around if it gets windy and scratch up the PWCs or trailer. We have a month or so before it starts snowing a lot, but I don't want to dilly dally either.

Do you change the oil too?

Hi, @MrBud007. We didn't change the oil because we had just done it before our last trip, which was only 2-3 hours of use. We had planned to go out more last fall, but the weather was bad, and that trip ended up being our last. If we'd gone out more, we would have changed it again. This year is similar. We just changed it and have only gone out one time since then. We're hoping for good weather this fall so we can go out a couple more times, but if not, we'll still change it when we winterize them because our last trip was to the ocean.
