This is absolutely fantastic!
Thanks! I really enjoy these books and I've always found it odd that more folks don't talk about them. I myself only stumbled across them at my local game store shortly after it re-opened after the pandemic lockdowns. I wanted to support them and saw one copy of each book on the shelf and they grabbed my attention so I snapped them up! I'm so glad I did.
Also... tell your friends! For whatever reason, this video is getting no views, especially compared to my first three. Not sure what the deal is. Thanks!
I love system neutral resources! Even before the OGL situation, I had the idea for products that were either easily adaptable or gave options for other editions, so this is right up my alley.
By the way, I loved recognizing Zeb Cook’s name! I used to stare at that classic warrior riding on horseback imagining all the things he was doing.
@@JnJake Thanks for watching and commenting! Yes, these days I'm all about system neutral resources, particularly because I play both B/X D&D and Savage Pathfinder but also even my B/X game is heavily modified so as to be its own thing. With System Neutral I can use it in either!
Zeb Cook designed so many great products from back in the day including the 1981 Expert Set, Oriental Adventures, and 2E, just to name a few!
@@daddyrolleda1 yet another great reason to find/create system neutral content. I suppose adapting things you like isn’t all that difficult, but it’s still nice to see out there
Nice review. I too have found these to be indispensable resources for my games.
Thanks for watching and commenting!
I'm surprised more people don't know about these books! I just stumbled across them myself but am really glad I did.
I must have missed this one.
No worries! It was one of my earliest ones and having just rewatched it, I'd make it a little more dynamic and (hopefully) engaging were I to make it again.
This book is worth getting for the art alone! :-D
I agree - all those old-school artists is fantastic! But the random tables are really great, too!
There are no correct pronunciations of Lovecraft's critters - according to HP himself, we humans don't have the necessary physical vocalization capabilities to pronounce any of the names truly correctly, so it doesn't matter what you say, it's necessarily going to be wrong.
Oh, great! That makes me feel better - thanks!

OK, these look cool.
They are such great inspirational resources. I love just reading through them to get ideas for things.
